I went to the Naf Naf Grill location in Schaumburg at 7:49pm on 6/12 and dealt with the rudest cashier (who I suspect is also a manager) I have ever seen. When my mother and I walked into the restaurant, there was a customer in front of us with a large catering order. There were four employees: a young woman who didn't do much, a man who assisted customers with orders, a man in the back grilling chicken, and a cashier who did everything for the catering order and was telling the other two what to do. After a few minutes of standing around, the male employee started to take our order. All we ordered was two stuffed pitas, two naf naf fries, and a side pita. Everything was normal until after our food was ready. Right after the male employee made the food, he started working online orders. The young female employee was walking around and not fulfilling orders. The cashier was still talking to the catering customer who kept on adding items to her order. We waited for someone to only ring us up for at least 5 minutes. We were getting upset because the food was becoming cold. We almost left at that point, but we were bringing food for another person too who was expecting falaffal. My mom asked the cashier to ring us up while the catering order paid. The cashier was mad that we asked to be rung up and told us that the catering person was first. We told her how our food was getting cold and how we only needed a minute to pay and go. We told her how the catering order was taking a while. The cashier walked up to the cash register and almost checked out an online order after the catering person but then reluctantly rung us up. It took me only 30 seconds to pay. While I paid, the cashier kept on defending her actions as to how to the other customer was first and she had to help her. She started shouting at us Then, I started yelling at her about how all she had to let me do was pay. She kept on defending herself yet again. We then continued to have an unpleasant shouting match and then we left. The cashier handled the situation poorly as all she had to do get the employee not doing anything to help her with the catering order to reduce time. Or she could've followed what places like McDonald's do, take large orders out of the line and prepare it separately while still helping other customers with smaller orders. Or why even prepare our food in the first place if you absolutely insist the catering order should've been finished in its entirety?!?! You could've told us beforehand that it would take 10-15 minutes and we wouldn't have minded! There was so much the cashier or even the other employees could've done to mitigate the situation and they all failed. The food tasted good but it doesn't even matter at this point as the cashier had left a sour taste in my family's mouth. This experience far differed from our previous experiences at this location when employees were jovial and helpful. This location seems to be plagued by high turnover as an entirely different cast of employees where there compared to the people I saw only a few months ago. The micromanager/cashier wouldn't let anyone help her with the large order or even with other orders too as she just had to do everything. I shouldn't have to defend myself and my loved ones in order to get food. I love naf naf grill and I will just wait until the next set of employees start working there for a better experience!! No one wore name tags but the receipt said I dealt with someone named Mariami. read more

The parking lot at dinner time is hectic, spots are limited due to proximity to the mall for the holiday I believe. Inside, the appearance seems nice ,well lit. The line was short but it took 10 mins to have my order taken. Seems like new people are being trained and they were short staffed, just like most other places. Options are decent but different from most middle eastern pita restaurants. So building it with the ingredients offered was different. They went easy on all the ingredients, which left an empty spot at the bottom and a slight corner wrapped over because it was empty. More pita than ingredients in it for sure. Once I was ready to be checked out they did not honor the promotion I was given and charged me full price despite me asking if they were sure. They did deduct the price of the drink but nothing else as promised in the coupon I received. Plenty of space for seating, very long and narrow. Some tables were dirty after being used and the garbage can was almost full. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, holiday craziness, new staff not fully trained so maybe I will go back after the new year. Updated- Management reached out and fixed the coupon and also promised a better experience on my next visit. Will update again soon. Give credit when it's due, they are trying! -)) read more

If you follow my reviews, you'll know I wasn't too happy with my last Naf Naf experience (granted, it was a different location). That being said, I was pleasantly surprised with my experience and food here at the Schaumburg location. One of my biggest complaints was that I thought the price was a bit much. This time I decided to get a hummus bowl, with couscous, chicken, cucumber salad, onions, pickles and tahini sauce. Not going to lie, everything was delicious! The chicken was fresh and tender. All the toppings were crisp and well seasoned. I ended up paying about 13, but that was with a drink. Not a bad price honestly. There are a lot of Mediterranean places in the Schaumburg area, but I will definitely be returning to this Naf Naf, and I would suggest it, especially if you're looking for a nice meal after shopping at Woodfield. read more

TL;DR okay food. Roti is way better. Got two bowls - mine had chicken shwarma with rice and all the toppings (chopped salad, cabbage, sumac onions and pickles). We also got some falafel and naf fries. The food was alright, but the chicken is extremely greasy. They did have chicken kabob, but it was only available as a plate which came with several things I didn't want, and it was pricy for this kind of restaurant ($11.25). Plus for very friendly people! Space is clean and modern, with a nice overall vibe. Line management was awkward, but with the place being newer I expect these snafus will improve. These factors aren't heavily driving my rating. The food is okay. Red cabbage slaw was really salty, as were the pickle slices. Chicken kabab was tender, but not heavily seasoned. Hummus was fine, falafel was tasty, and sauces were decent too. See the problem here is that while there is no problem, there's also nothing to write home about either, and $15 lunches that don't bring me to Flavortown, well, they can be dismissed pretty rapidly. If I could have Pita Inn food in this space at Pita Inn prices, I'd be much more pleased. But as noted, the food likely won't offend here either. read more

I have been here twice now and the he first time I was recommended the bowl because you get more food for the same price. I just went with it, but honestly I didn't need all of that. So, the second time I got the pita and it was so much better. First, because there wasn't basmati rice. Second, because the falafel was extra good and crisp. The staff is really nice and the place is clean and well organized. The one thing I didn't really care for was the fries which aren't actually fries. They are small, oily, soggy, homemade chips. My wife and I are big fans of Naf Naf but we had a bad experience at this location. Maybe it was an off night but the workers weren't very friendly. 1st complaint: I ask for a bowl with half hummus and half bah bah and was told she couldn't do that and didn't want to get fired. First off, that's just an odd response. Secondly, the other locations always do this. Just odd to me. 2nd complaint: My friend behind me asks for a pita with ba ba ganoush and the same server starts putting in hummus and my friend says "no no I said ba ba". Naf Naf server's response "I heard you say hummus." I heard ba ba. My friend heard ba ba. My friend's husband heard ba ba. I guess all three of us heard wrong!!! LOL! I have never ever had an issue at any other location. I never call to complain but I had to. They put no chicken in !! Manager is insane. We have been coming to this specific naf and surrounding ones for 5+ years and whenever we get our kids a meal we've always gotten more rice and chicken in place of a side with no problems until today. Charged me $5 for an extra half scoop of chicken just because I told them ahead of time I wasn't getting any chopped salad. I even told her I saw the employee scoop two spoonfuls of chicken in a bowl and pita ahead of me and all she said was "alright thanks for letting me know". I'd heard about Naf Naf from my friend, so we decided to try it. We both had the steak bowl with rice, romaine, purple cabbage, chopped salad and garlic sauce. It was absolutely delicious! Our kitchen is being remodeled and we've been eating out of a cooler in our bathtub, so this was a real treat. We've eaten here every day since, which is about a week. I haven't experienced any of the service issues others have written about here. This is a good, reliable fast food choice that you don't feel too guilty about eating. My only issue is the closing time of 8:00 pm! Sometimes by the time we decide what to pick up on those busy days it's too late to come in. Or even take it out. I respect workers' time and definitely won't show up less than 30 minutes before closing. But please make your official hours until 9:00, at least on the weekend! This is not a reliable location for delivery orders. I ordered via the Naf Naf app (which is pretty bad on it's own merits) and received my order on time... and completely wrong. I had two missing sides that I had paid for, and they had completely disregarded my request for sauce on the side. I had the combo plate with my choices of falafel and chicken schwarma, (the third option is beef) and also Taboleh, hummus, pickles, red cabbage salad, and a fresh out of the oven pita. The menu is simple and easy. The meal is prepared similar to Subway where your plate moves by various food options which you choose to add, or not. It was just a bit pricey once I added a beverage. First of all I love Naf Naf grill and it's food but at Rosemont and downtown location. When it came to Schaumburg I was super happy but to my disappointment when they started they were not able to manage crowd and hence the service was super slow, but that time at least food was fine. In my last three visits al times there is problem in rice, uncooked rice was there and as it was for delivery I came to know later only. In picture can be seen the uncooked rice. We love Naf Naf and usually go to the Rosemont location. Never ever had an issue. I'm so disappointed today, my fiancé went to pick up 2 plates to bring home. Considering we live over 30 mins away, I was expecting the meal of my life since I'm so pregnant . Unfortunately, the tabouli was literally whole chunks of parsley. We've never had it like this before. It's like they didn't finish preparing. Nothing else but parsley. I'm super sad about that because it's one of my favorite things on the plate. The other thing is the tahini sauce was disgusting, it tasted like watered down hummus. I'm never this upset but it was nasty! We only got one sauce for each plate too, we usually get 3. Disappointing. I'm in with the old, out with the new... the Naperville original blows this joint out of the water any day. Who told these guys to get rid of the REAL steak??? Ok, rewind for those of you who never knew what the original was like. It wasn't Chipotle style, you get what they want to serve you, because they know what's good. They created the food, you didn't get a choice because you probably don't know what's good, they do. And it was good! The original joint was a hole in the wall but the food was excellent, not made in mass production. Anyway, this new Naf Naf's shawarma and beef are not the same as what I was used to therefore, I had no appreciation. The meat was dry and over cooked. I also didn't exactly know what went in that made it so good so when I had to create my own, it was a massive failure. Yes, I blame you shawarma pita artist for my crappy creation. Completely disappointed. I won't go back. I went to the original Naf Naf un Naperville before it became a franchise and also went to a newer location in Aurora off Rt 59 by Fox Valley Mall. Not sure how those locations are run right now, but they were very different from this new location in Schaumburg. The menu at the other locations was very straight forward and easy. There weren't many options, so you just chose what you wanted and they made it. The menu here in Schaumburg seems more confusing. It seems they want their concept to be more like Chipotle. If I wanted Chipotle I would go there. At the other locations, the size of the plates were much larger. I'm not talking about portion sizes, I mean the plates or bowls the food comes in. For example, a dish I always order is the veggie platter which has falafel, hummus, baba ganoush, salads, etc. It came on a huge plate so everything was spread out. Here in Schaumburg, they put all of that into a smaller bowl, and it all gets picked on top of each other. So, the hummus and baba ganoush get mixed together. We always order a chicken shawarma pita sandwich. At the other locations, they would just make it and be done. Here, you walk through the line telling them what to put in the pita. I'm not opposed to that, except for the sauces. At the other locations, the sauces were perfectly mixed in. In Schaumburg, they put the sauces on last when the pita is already full. They start dumping the sauces on the top, but they don't get mixed into the pita properly, so the first couple bites are a ton of sauce but the rest of the pita is dry. Lastly, the fries are a much smaller portion size. The other locations gave a basket of fries, but here it's a small container. It feels to me like they are cutting corners and trying to save money. Every business does it, but when it negatively impacts quality, that's when you've gone too far. I won't go back to this location. read more

Horrible customer service! Have dined at multiple locations and frequently at Rosemont and Naperville. Bowls here are stingy and only 2 total highchairs. Also they limit total sauces to 2. ***Biggest downfall was rude customer service from Annabelle at the front counter... Asked for an extra empty bowl for my 15 month old to eat from and she decided to rudely toss over to me. Not to mention when we asked for sauce on the side instead of in the bowl it seemed to be a big issue for her. Vrey dissatisfied and would not dine at this location!!! read more
