This is the 3rd time here and decided to write a review. I ordered the "Nagoya Ramen" which was recommended by the cashier. It came with a side order of chicken katsu and free side order of gyoza (sign outside says "free gyoza 2-5 pm with meal order"). I'm assuming this "Nagoya Ramen" named the same as this establishment is their signature dish. It tasted pretty good with fresh ingredients. Noodles were cooked just right. Chicken Katsu didn't have much meat and it was kind of hard. Wish there was more Katsu sauce too. The gyoza was ok but nothing great. I also got an Azuki Bun from their little bakery and it was interesting. It was intricately made in layers with Azuki spread between its folds. I was expecting more Azuki beans inside but overall it was a satisfying pastry. As far as service, it could have been better. The cashier, who apparently was not articulate in English, was very abrupt in her answers and not very cordial. She gave me the impression of being grumpy and doesn't know how to smile. I guess you can't expect much from a food court in a shopping mall. To her credit, she seemed like a hard worker though. Small little shop where you can order ramen, curry or any other food on the menu. Also with a with a small bakery. I've always walked passed by this place at the mall but i've tried their bakery items before and it was soooo goood from what I remembered. So this time I went back again. They offer tongs and a tray to place your bread on so you don't touch it with your hands? I suppose even though the bread is wrapped in plastic. I guess for more safety perhaps. I got myself a ham and cheese and hot dog bread as a snack after having lunch. Whenever I come to Ka Makana Alii my mom has a standing order from this bakery! She and her friends love the coconut bread that is freshly baked here. I tried the taro bread which was ok, not super flavorful. It has mashed taro inside the bun. Almond cookies are my favorite cookie so I had to try their's. They were more like shortbread with a hint of almond. For a shortbread they were good, but I wanted more almond flavor. Mochiko Chicken Curry Rice and Gyoza!! This is probably the best place to have this!!! The mochiko chicken is seasoned nicely and curry was simple!! Not spicy at all and flavor was on point! Eh. We didn't have high expectations. We came for S&S Thai, but they were closed, so decided to try Nagoya, despite the mixed reviews. My husband specifically asked for no corn in his ramen. I guess we had a small communication breakdown, because there was definitely corn, along with some other items that weren't pictured in the ramen he wanted. I got takoyaki. Its one of those place to go when you want something wholesome and quick! They do not have a seating area inside, but there are plenty of seating and tables at the food court area. Customer service: I have ordered both in person and on the phone. They are really nice and are really quick at making the food. We usually order our food to go and they are really quick. Sometimes we come just to grab the bakery items for the kiddos. Food: we LOVE the bakery items. The bread and pastries are so soft and fluffy.. You can just tell they are made same day. So yum! I have ordered their ramen combos or the curry. It is all good! The Ramen combo is my fave because you get Ramen, fried rice and gyoza. Overall, this is a family favorite because it has something for everyone. My kids love the baked goods and the upon. My hubby loves the ramen and curry. I couldn't believe how cheap this place is. My friend got the Shoyu ramen with gyoza, fried rice, and mochiko chicken for only $12.50 (one of their combos). These were pretty large portions also. Everything tasted fresh, the ramen broth wasn't salty, the mochiko chicken was well cooked with not too much breading like I've had at other places. I didn't get to try their baked goods, but my friends liked their ham and cheese sandwich. Seating is limited since there are no seats inside and it's all in the center of the walkway between the other side of eating places. Parking is ample in this new shopping center. read more

But disappointed that the ingredients that it found refuge in was not so amazing. From the outside of Nagoya Ramen & Bakery youre naturally drawn to there open concept kitchen, you will immediately see where they make there noodles and prep their dishes (really cool). This lead me to believe that i was going to be a recipient of YUMMY YUMMY NARUTO STYLE RAMEN!!! My experience was more like "meh-okeh" ramen. I really enjoy both styles hot and cold Ramen, i believe that a lot of places can make good Hot Ramen but most cannot execute good cold Ramen. I believe Nagoya misses its mark on both styles. The Cold Ramen had great ramen noodles, sadly i felt that there sauce was on the salty end and lacked quality in overall taste. Had slices of meat (maybe pork/ham) that did not carry much flavor, same problem with the thinly sliced fish cakes, sprouts were bountiful but not snappy (not fresh), and the pickled red ginger was plopped on top, COMPLETELY OVERPOWERED EVERYTHING! i needed to pick most of it out and eat it on the side. Overall the Cold Ramen did not taste very good. I found myslef needing to eat it along side their gyoza to add some flavor (Gyoza was good, nice pan fry crust). I was able to sample some of the hot Gyoza ramen from a friend, similar issues, broth was tasty, sadly did not feel clear and fresh, pork was on the dryer end of the spectrum, noodles as always well done. There are tons of restaurant options around the store but this one is a winner. I have a fish allergy and the staff was very familiar with the ingredients of each dish and able to help advise which items I could safely order. They ultimately made a custom item combining two dishes and leaving out things I was allergic to. The great service aside, the food was also amazing! Highly recommended. For people with food allergies this is probably the safest Ramen place in town. If you want pretty affordable ramen then this is the place. I bought the miso combo ramen. It came with miso ramen (pretty bland the taste wish it had more flavor but being that the soup is miso it's pretty basic already lol) the combo was with gyouza and fried rice. It was pretty awesome all 3 for $10.95 What a steal!! This place is super clean. I have witnessed the employees really scrub and spray down the kitchen when they close shop for the day. Idk about you but something about a clean kitchen makes it much more settling to eat from. The food is also freshly made once you order it! The bread was absolutely good . They were sold out by most of what they sell as we arrived at around 4 PM . But for what we got it was really good . We bought some to the plane with us on our way home to Denver and the bread was still good after 7 hours . The ramen though was meh . We came to visit the Ka Makana Ali'i shopping center to pick up a few things and stopped by for a snack. I ordered the tempura shrimp, my sister ordered the chicken katsu, my other sister ordered the Takko balls, and my brother ordered the beef ramen. I really liked the food court area as it provided plenty of shade and other international eats. My dish (tempura shrimp) came with 3 strips and some sauce for dipping. Honestly, it was very good for me as a snack. The tempura was very crunchy and the shrimp still hot and perfectly cooked. My sister's chicken katsu was extra extra crunchy and hard. Practically over cooked and not fresh. My sister's Takko was basically had a lot of dough and not enough substance but my brother's beef ramen looked very good, tasted well and was very filling! We didn't need to wait very long for our munchies but we waiting and received mediocre food besides the ramen. This is the reason for the 3 Star, we were disappointed with a couple dishes that could of been executed better. Now I've heard that certain cooks cook without any gloves and gloves are not the main way to prevent spread of germs. But I was literally watching the cook eat a snack while my food was frying (ordered chicken Katsu curry) and when she took it out the fryer she handled my food with her bare hands without even washing her hands. She touched my chicken and placed it on the my platter. Then after she put it on the platter she went ahead and ate something else. I was pretty disgusted. She even saw me watch her too. Since I waited outside and there is a glass where you can watch the cooks. It really made me wonder how they handle other foods esp since they make fresh bread too.
