Worst pedicure ever. I came in for a pedicure. And thought I was getting a pedicure. Oh no! The woman barely did anything. When I asked for the pumice stone she looked at me like I was crazy. Then told me that I was hoping to remove some of the callous from my runners feet (seriously not bad) she told me she wants to the use a razor. BUT next time I come. I thought razors were against the law in New York. So I proceeded to ask for something else to help the pedicure issue she than said lets do the callous remover. I said okay. Then she said thats another $8 on top of the service I was supposed to get. Then she was trying to push a massage on me. I fooled her and said no. Okay so I hate being this person but I got my nails done about an hour ago and my cuticles are still bleeding. The women were nice but they seemed rushed as it was the end of the day. I have a go to spot and was hoping to find somewhere closer to work. I won't be back. The woman next to me was getting a full set and they already broke before she even got them filled. Do NOT go here! They kept trying to push the massage on me. All I wanted was mani pedi. Three times she kept asking to include massage. Also when I came in I specifically ASKED if they take Mastercard and they said yes. When I went to pay with my card (and tip) they asked me if I had cash. I said no. Then the cashier told me the card didn't work. I know full well it does. I called the bank while I was there and they said there was no problem with the card. She followed me down the street to the bank!! When I proceeded to go to the service desk (since since she said there was a problem with the card). She kept asking me to go to the ATM. I told her if there was a problem with the card it won't work in the ATM. There was a long line for the service desk so I did go to the ATM and of course the card worked perfectly. Got cash and gave it to her so she could leave. Pretty sure they really only wanted cash payment and/or tips. BTW the bank service desk again said there was no problem with the card and I used the card several times that evening. Scammers!! Between them pushing you to add extra services and wanting cash 'only' AVOID this place at all costs!! Plenty of other nail salons in the area. read more

Hidden NYC Gem! This is a lovely little nail salon that I found by roaming around the area over ten years ago. It definitely became a favorite place and I have been going here ever since. Apparently, the salon has been in business for about fifty years now and I am not suprised at its longevity. It is a simple nail salon with cute Rennaisance style decor, perfect for a quick mani or pedi. It's a great place because the service is all walk in; you never need to make an appointment. It's so convenient since you can just go get a mani-pedi whenever you feel like it. (I love the spontaneous aspect!). Aside from work quitting time (5 to 7 pm) on the some weekdays, the wait is never long. Even if they are full, the wait is usually no longer than fifteen minutes. Also they are very reasonably priced, a basic mani-pedi costs only $30 total! And the staff are all very friendly and do a good job. They are very flexible in fixing smudges (I can never sit still for long, lol) and you are welcome to hang around if you want a little extra drying time at the hand and foot driers. They are also very fast, perfect if you need to catch a train (Penn Station is a short hop away). They carry all the basic and popular nail colors, mostly OPI, Revlon and Essie brands. The selection shelf holds the bold and trendy colors. All of the manicure stations each have a selection of about ten french manicure colors to choose from. If you are looking for a particular shade, just ask the front desk, they will look to see if they something like it for you. They also offer waxing services (e.g. eyebrows, underarms), though I have never tried that service. It's not the fanciest of places, but for the price, walk in convenience and quick, friendly service, it can't be beat. I have been going here for ten years now and still love it. read more

This place is awesome! I have been coming here for years now. Ita close by my job so whenever I need a mani or pedi I just call them ahead time and ask how long the wait time is so I dont have to wait too long. They do get really busy at times. Everyone in there does amazing work, especially Jessi! I always go to her for fillings and acrylic. They are super clean and take their time. And the wait time isnt usually too long. They dont rush you no matter how busy it gets. I know it's the city so it can get a little pricey compared to prices in queens and Brooklyn, but honestly it's worth. I have plenty of nail salons in my neighborhood but I rather pay a little more and get the job well done. So it's totally worth it!! read more

I walked in at 6:15 pm. All were busy n one lady told me to Pick up the color. I did n waited. It was 6:35- still nothing. None of the employees told me how long it will take to get my maol done. I asked, one of them answered briefly " 10 min" I stupidly waites till 6:55 n walked out. Till then, no one apologized, no one told me about the waiting hours. It was the worst nail salon experienxe. This place had a solid 5- star rating until I went to pay. The sweetest woman did my nails, and did an excellent job. I'd even have recommended spending the extra money to upgrade to the spa pedi with the 10 min massage. However, as I was getting ready to pay, the younger girl who worked there informed me that I had to pay an extra $5 to take off the existing gel, even though I got a gel manicure in addition. NO WHERE else charges this unless you aren't getting the gel manicure. When I inquired why, she told me it was because I didn't have the original gel put on there. I did protest, since a. I was in town visiting and it's ridiculous to penalize someone from going somewhere else 300 miles away and b. because they didn't inform me in advance. She still charged me, and I told her I wouldn't be back next time I was in town. It's a shame, because I really did enjoy the experience, I just don't enjoy the shady business practices and trying to take advantage of the out of towners. Stay away. read more

Horrible manicure. My nails are (naturally) on the longer side and they were filed so ragged and uneven. The hygienic practices of this place are basically non-existent. I declined having my cuticles pushed/trimmed because the tools looked filthy. That did not stop the tech from painfully shoving her dirty fingernail into my cuticles and under my nail beds to remove excess polish. +1 star because the $10 10 minute massage add-on was actually quite good. -1 star because the netting covering the massage chair pad for your face was crusted in old makeup from other customers. +1 star because the 3 minute electric nail dryers actually worked, so I was out the door in under half an hour, start to finish. I'm terrified this place gave me nail fungus. Avoid. read more

The place is just ok. I ended up paying 86 for a new set of silk wrap. The most I've paid for this service. I had to soak off my nails and the lady that did my nails actually broke two of my nails in the process and charged me for the extension. Also, I get silk wraps all the time and this was the first time ever that after two days one of my nails broke! The front asian lady also presses on getting her workers tip money. You would think that after paying 86 bucks, she would relax a bit but not way. Def. not going back again. Overpriced and the work is just OK. Nothing special. read more

This place is good for a solid, no frills, mani-pedi. It is perfect for quick service when you are in a time crunch to catch a train like I was. But, it isn't the kind of place you go out of your way for. I don't think it is very clean and it has somewhat of a dirty feel to it. That said, the mani and the pedi I got still looked great and the service was wonderful, the lady was very sweet and attentive, I just tried to turn my head the other way when I felt like the conditions of the salon weren't really up to par. The gel manicure I received was mediocre, it is see through after 3 coats. Also the staff yelled at one another for the entire 45 mins I was in the salon. On top of that, I handed the lady her tip at the end (because either way, it was her labor and time) and she had the nerve to tell me how much she should have received ("$8 min"). Amazing manicure! I asked the manicurist to do it quickly bec I was in a rush and hVe no patience to sit through a manicure. First of all my nails look fantastic and it was so quick. I also asked her not to touch my cuticles and she asked me if she could just fix one spot which I totally appreciate that she asked me first. I also got a 10 min massage since it was on special and that felt fantastic! I got to dry my nails while I was getting massaged. Double plus! Happy camper here! Definitely coming back! read more

Good for a "run during lunch" mani/pedi. Went for a mani yesterday, it was just a basic quick mani, a little on the pricier side but still fair. They have a lot of people working so if there is a wait, its usually 10-15 mins. If you see more than 2 people waiting ahead of you don't believe it's a 10 min wait, it will be much more. A lot of people seem to do gel manis here, it looks good so I might give it a try one day. I agree with another reviewer, it took me forever to pick out a polish because they are organized on this circular shelf so its hard to see colors behind the first row. Gel colors are organized much more visibly. This will likely be my new basic lunch mani/pedi place. read more

Seriously the best mani/pedi of my life. And great bang for your buck! A manicure is $10, a pedi is $20 and you can add a leg/foot massage for $10 more. Also they offer chair massages at reasonable prices as part of the package too. The staff were friendly and they even offered us a glass of wine. I wanted to take the time and write a review. I LOVE MY NAILS. I have a full fill in and gel manicure. I used Cindy originally to do the full set. She did an amazing job shaping my nails! RUN! DON'T SAY YOU WERE NOT WARNED! I was a walk-in pedicure and was promptly seated. I explained that my big toe was broken and asked that my pedicurist be gentle. She acknowledged my injury and remarked on the bruising. She proceeded with my pedicure, only to manhandle the ONE toe that was broken- no joke, she straight up twisted my toe. When I nearly leapt out of my seat in pain, she giggled, patted my foot and said sorry. OK, fine, I thought....? As she proceeded with the pedicure, she barely did a thing to my feet. She did not push back any of my cuticles. She got out the cuticle cutter, but only pretended to use it, keeping the blades closed tight as it grazed my toe nails. She rubbed lotion all over my feet but I had to ask her to wipe the globs of lotion off my toenails as she was applying the base coat- she did not wipe down the nail bed with polish remover prior to application like every other mani/pedi I've ever received. When she told me she was done, I grabbed my polish color and was escorted to the dryer. Upon closer inspection of my toes, I saw that she only did single color coats on my pinky toes, did not polish the tip/caps of my toes, so that the white of the toe nail was exposed and ready to be easily chipped and the top coat was hit or miss. As I was fixing it, she scurried over to see what the problem was. I pointed it out to her and she walked away, unconcerned. There were a few comments and exchanges that I witnessed suggesting this establishment survives off of tourist (the location naturally lends itself to such clientele) and rarely sees locals. They treat you like a cash grab (the woman legit tried to upsell me a foot massage right after re-breaking my toe), knowing that the probability of returning customer is slim. Also- the pedicure "menu" they give you while seated lists the "regular pedicure" for $35, when the price list up front advertises a "pedicure" for $25. Semantics cost $10. read more

Manicure looked good...for one day. I got my nails done on Sunday evening. By Tuesday lunchtime they were chipped. When I was picking colors they said, "For an extra $5 we can give you special polish that lasts a week!" I got worried because every other mani I have ever had in my life lasted 7 days, except the one from this place. I selected my regular color in my regular brand (opi). I went there today for the first time and although the place itself looks nice, the service is not the best. I went in for white tips and I was expecting it to be $40 based on the phone conversation I I had with an employee when I called the store, but then when I was there they said it was actually $60 ($40 is for regular tips). I think a $20 difference is excessive for a difference in color. Anyway, it was late so I didn't really have another option so I sat down. Later on the girl who did my nails said that to soak your nails (to remove the older tips I had on) is $10! WHO charges to soak your nails?!? That's just plain ridiculous. On top of this, the girl was rough when she was taking off the old nails and gave me tiny cuts around my cuticles from her rough filing, even though I told her numerous times to be careful. Also I thought their technique for the gel was odd they used a powder that was sprinkled on instead of the type you brush on, I'm only used to the latter and I noticed that this kind actually hurts - at least for me it does. Once she was done, but before she put the top coat on, she asked me to pay and she gave me the total, $73 ($70 + tax), then she asked just $73? (hinting at a tip). I really didn't want to tip her because she provided bad service but I can't leave without leaving a tip. Anyway, I said yes just $73 because I was going to pay the tip with cash. She alerts the owner in their language and the owner came over and asked if I wanted to leave a tip. -__- I said I have cash. At this point I was beyond frustrated but I still left her a five dollar tip because I felt bad. I won't be back here unless I am beyond desperate. It seems like their prices aren't too bad for a standard manicure, but I'd go somewhere cheaper for tips if that's what you want done, especially white tips. Never again smh. read more

I happened upon Nail & Stuff near Penn Station and was able to be seen right away (10:30 on a Sunday morning). The young lady who did my manicure was EXCELLENT!! Very precise and professional. Nail & Stuff is the top nail salon in Manh. Salon is clean and the service is tops. I've been to others and they don't compare. The staff is the best and make sure you leave the salon satisfied. I've given this place a couple tries now and i'm done. They are rude, pushy on upgrades (gel, massage, etc.) and rush if you're just getting a regular manicure. My nails are not even filed evenly! Plus, sloppy polish job. Don't waste your time. There are much better options in this area. read more

This place was ok. I went in during my lunch break to get a French mani and they put me in the hands of this young, inexperienced boy. This kid was so new that it took him 1 hour and 45 min to cut my nails too short and file them raw. He didn't know what he was doing and I don't appreciate that they didn't offer me anything after I complained. My nails have seen better days. Dont waste your money. read more
