I've been seeing Nancy for my pedicures at this small nail salon next to DSW. Their prices are reasonable and I find it's best to call in advance because they tend to have a lot of walk ins. I used to bring my own polish, but now they carry Essie and OPI. I do bring my own top coat, which lengthens the time between visits. Tom, the owner, is very nice too. Giving this place 5 stars for a few reasons. 1. Everyone is out enjoying their Saturday and I was the only one on the shop. 2. The lady was polite and asked me what I wanted. 3. The gentleman put a room divider at the front door so I could have more privacy and the lady gave me a blanket type thing to put over my legs since I was wearing a dress. 4. The lady took her time on my pedicure and scrubbed my feet really good (I payed for extra callus removal). 5. Oddly I enjoyed not having any music or in tv on. They had a tv but it was not on and it was extremely peaceful in the shop. Overall, I just needed a quick pedicure and it turned out to be nice here. I went 3 days ago for a pedicure all was well until I noticed my right big toe throbbing and burning, by the end of the day it was so red painful and swollen that I couldn't even walk on it. For a cheap yet quality mani/pedi that LASTS, you will not find better than Nail Fashions. This is located on Artesia and is super convenient for me when I'm coming from work in Hermosa and I'm on my way home to DTLA (Artesia to the 110). It's in a shopping center across the street from Nordstrom, and like most shopping centers in the South Bay, parking is not any type of struggle whatsoever. I always manage to find a spot right in front of Nail Fashions as well. They do an awesome job with every aspect of the mani or pedi, and they don't skimp on the massage like some places do. It's owned by this adorable older Asian couple, and both do such a meticulous job--even with dead skin on feet (gross, I know!). They don't have high-end nail polishes, but considering my addiction to beauty products, I have more than enough and it's never an issue for me. They'll even thin my polishes out if I've had them too long and they're goopy so I've never had to buy any polish-thinner myself :) Manis are $10 and pedis are $12. There's a surcharge for credit cards like most cheap nail places. Tip well!! read more

The first time I came here is was for eyebrow and lip waxing. I was in a hurry and decided to stop at the first nail salon I passed on my way to work. I don't remember my waxer's name but in the end I was very pleased with her services. She wasn't the friendliest person I have ever met but was meticulous with the waxing and with a little bit of guidance on how I wanted by eyebrows to look she was able to achieve the end result I desired. During my second visit I got a spa pedicure and manicure along with lip waxing. They did an amazing job and were MUCH friendlier than the waxer I experienced previously. I'd just finished shopping in the mall across the street and had 45 mins before I had to pick up my son from daycare in Manhattan Beach. I did a quick yelp search and found this place nearby so I called them to see if they could fit me in. I saw it had good (although small number of) reviews so I thought I would give it a try. I was heading to Vegas the following day so I was quite desperate to get my nails done that day. I got there and it was empty. But I didn't let that stop me from going in. I took my own colour since I'd just bought it the day before. The old lady (presuming Chinese, not the typical Vietnamese I was used to seeing) sat me down on a massage chair (so far so good) and started working on my feet. I asked for a spa pedi. She didn't really acknowledge me so I was wondering if she understood me at all. I repeated it a few times but I gave up after not really getting any response from her. She used one of those electric nail buffer for my nails that I usually see being used for acrylic nails. I got a little worried that that's what she was proceeding to do. She then used the electric buffer to file down my skin on my feet!!! Was this the "callous removal"?? Once this was done, it was time to get my nails painted. I didn't see her use a base coat. She painted my nails twice with the colour that I'd brought. Then left. I sat there confused. Another man came out (the husband?) and sprayed a quick dry spray on my feet and said it was done. I asked for top coat and the lady said she painted my nails "second time". Huh?? Total was $16. I guess you get what you pay for. Worst nail job in my life. When I got home, I got my nail kit out and painted a topcoat. read more

It's a small place with only 2 spa pedicure chairs, and the guy and lady were so nice and friendly, they fit us in right before closing. This is my spot for pedicures! It's kind of far from my house, but I stumbled onto the place a couple years ago and Tom worked with me. He has a special gift for acupressure I think. Went again on Monday, made an appointment yet still had to wait 50 minutes. Got a cut and fill for $16, can't beat. Only thing is nails weren't all the same length and shape was a little off. I regretted walking into this place within 30 seconds--the place was empty and all three people there rushed me to pick a color! I stayed anyway... Well, the water was cold, the tools weren't properly labelled and clean, she put primer on my nails instead of base coat, and every time I asked the girl working on me a question, the man/owner would answer for her. To top it all off, I was charged more than the posted price for a pedicure. Could be a surcharge for using a card, but I wasn't told anything. The only reason this place gets an extra star is because they have fans for hands and feet that they will seat you at after your mani/pedi and a spray to dry them that works very well. It was nice and slow when I went (around mid-day) so they were able to concentrate and give a good quality service. I do not recommend this place for a full set acrylic! The shape was awful and most of them made my fingers look so crooked! I got them done on Friday and by Sunday 4 nails had popped off. Neat little mom & pop shop with affordable prices and decent work. My only compliant is their appointment system. They take appointments but I'm very rarely seen at the time of my appointment. It's a complete waste of time to book an appt for a mani/pedi if they're both done separately (because they're working on other people during MY appointment time). And they do this all the time. I had a 5:00PM appt. They started on my pedi 20 min after my appointment and i waited till 7:15PM for my mani since the lady kept taking WALK-IN customers! What is the purpose of making an appt if you're not going to be seen at your apt time! I think this is their way of making extra money is to over book and accept walk-ins while the appt people wait! I wish I could give this 0 stars. I had the worst experience there. I get to the place and I want to wait for Helen but she is busy so the other lady Nancy starts removing my gel and I was on with it because I was going to wait for Helen. I told her if she can cut them a little and she cut it with the dremel machine instead of using a nail clipper. My nails were so long and nice and she left them short and crocked. I asked her to fix the shape make it more even so she tried too but I was still not happy with the shape they were very uneven she tried again and then she HANDS ME THE FILE so that I can do so that I can fix !!!! That was so rude if I wanted to do my nails if I wanted to file, trim paint my nails I'd do it at home. I'm going there to get a service done and she hands me the file. And also ! At the beginning of my "service" she was charging me first. Nothing had been done or started and she was already charging me !? There was another customer there and she thought it was a little racial profiling for her to be charging me first before any services were being done. I was very upset. My nails are all short and ugly now. She said it was my fault cause I wanted them short cause she asked how short and yes I told her short but from all the filing and trying to fix her uneven filing work my nails are shorter than what I wanted them to. Wow! this is what I get for being lazy I was shopping at DSW and I was very tired, so I decided to go and nail shop in the shopping plaza it was very empty it was a older lady an older man. I had we sleep cut all my nails down and I said they should be able to file and put gel polish on my hands They would like you to pay first before being serviced no problem I had to go to bathroom do too I had pantyhose on the bathroom was old and corroded. It had old drain pipes dirty wet towel laying around to dry. To sum it up this was the worst experience I've ever had. My toe nails are snagging my covers. The gel polish on my fingers moved to the edge of my nails after she rubbed it with that paper they use after your nails dry under the UV light. That UV light was not working well anyway. They look a mess. They need to shut their doors. I'm so frustrated I would never go there again tired writing. Oh! by the way Nancy is isn't friendly at all. She doesn't put any love in doing your nails. She looked as if she was frustrated. The older man that was there he seems as if he was scared of her all he does is run around cater to her. First time & last!! I came here because my reg spot was closed due to the holiday, i should had listen to my inner self and waited for Friday. I usually do only gel polish on nail and reg toe polish (no manicure no pedi) .... made it clear to the nail tech. She cut down all the way! Point that it hurted! ... i said no more cutting, she says make it even whatttt?!?! ... she then told the guy to finish my feet, i said only file ... he starts drilling?? Why?? ... i say no only file. He didnt even tried to do a good job, was sloopy and my feet looks un even! & toe nail dont match. He was only his phone with speaker, his son was crying that he wanted fire works lol ... wow can you hang up and focus tf?? ... once done i asked the lady how much i owe ... this lady gone say $35.00 wtf?!? ... A week ago, I got back from 3 months journey in Europe, desperately needed my hands and toes to be done. I had spare time before the dinner with friends, decided to find decent nail salon in Torrance, and ended up here. I called 30 minutes before I get there to guarantee. As soon as I walked in, they told me to pick the color and they DON'T HAVE OPI or ESSIE. They had small collection of Essie and OPI next to bunch of cheap nail polish that I never heard about. Also, compare to other nail salons in Torrance, it's not cheap at all because they are using cheap products. I know this because I've worked in Nail salon as a receptionist for a while. So I bought one bottle of Essie for my toes for $10. I got French Gel Manicure and Regular Pedicure for $50. The guy started working on my toes first, and he started picking my toes, which hurt me like I was bleeding. I looked at him and told him that it was hurting me, but then he made weird smile and kept going. What was that? It was creepiest moment ever I got into in nail salon, getting pedicure. Then the women moved to manicure station, started to working on my hands and it took forever. I did not like the shape of french nail so asked her to go little thinner so she did. I didn't want to act like a b**ch so just let them go. But guess what? Gel manicure, which is supposed to last AT LEAST a week to chip off, chipped off the next day. I didn't even want to go back there and complain about it because it'd be wasting of time. It's an affordable nail salon near South bay Galleria, but I wouldn't recommend going there because there are plenty of nail salons in this area but apparently this was the worst nail salon I've ever gone. read more
