I had a 1pm pedicure package today. I got a call at 12:31pm to see if I could come in earlier. I was called twice in 15 minutes. I arrived at 12:50pm. No one was available. I waited for 30 minutes until a nail technician came to start working on my pedicure. The nail tech was apologetic and started right away. The customer she had before me asked for something to be fixed so my nail tech stopped working on me to return to that customer. I waited. Nobody came to check on me or offer me anything for my inconvenience. I left at 1:40pm--with only my toe nails cut. No offer for a discount on my next service. The receptionist apologized that they overbooked. I've been a long time customer since the salon opened. I am disappointed in how I was treated. I used to go to this salon before the pandemic and I used to like it, however, after my last visit I will not be returning here. My sister and I got out pedicures done 10 days ago and now we need to make another appointment to get it re-done. The quality of gel polish was so bad that my white nails are now black. My pedicure for $52 looks really old and bad. I am very very disappointed with the service they provided and will not be back. Answer: Believe me, my usual pedicure lasts 1 month and not 10 days. Even if my pedicure was done 15 days ago I don't think it should cost $52. In that case, you should cost half of the price you charge. Lucy, you are the business owner and you use their products, so its better for your future experience to check the product before using it on others. I had been meaning to try this place because I heard so many great things! I decided to try it out for my wedding as a treat for myself - a gel mani/pedi, nothing too fancy. Making an appointment was very easy and convenient and the salon looks very nice and well taken care of. The receptionist and the technicians were also very friendly which is always good. I'm so annoyed and beyond hurt by the customer service from this nail salon. I spent lots of money here and given them countless referrals. After my last visit in which my gel x full set did not stay on for longer than 2days I contacted management to let them know about the issue. They repaired the nails but when I called to book my next appointment the staff informed me that the nail tech that did the bad job refused to provide me with any future services. How awful is that? Me asking them to repair a mistake that was out of my control does not justify refusal of service. It was not my fault that the technique or the technician did not apply the set correctly. For her to refuse service for a problem that was not my fault is absolutely unacceptable. I will never spend one more cent at this salon nor will I ever recommend their services to anyone ever again. I was really excited to try this place because the reviews were so good and the prices looked fair. The pros of this place are the following: - The front desk team and the Yelp team. They responded quickly to my inquiry, answered my questions. - The design and layout of the salon. Very cute. - Cleanliness, + free mimosa with se The cons are: - the actual manicure / pedicure. Neither were great. I have natural nails, and got a manicure and pedicure. I think maybe I just didn't get the best artists. The pedicure was fine, but when she finished the artist just left. I didn't get an idea of how long they'd take to dry. No one came back to help me put my sandals on without smudging (both the ladies on either side of me got this assistance from their artists, without asking). The paint itself was also a little messy. Not a huge deal. My manicure, however, would up being super disappointing. After I left I could see the paint looked uneven, and didn't go all the way to edges of my nails. I've never had this issue at a salon. Usually the artist does another coat for full coverage. There was also clear coat smudged all over my fingers. What I found most bothersome is that the paint was already chipping off the next day (see photo). My home manicures last longer than this! I took off another star because of it. I was planning on giving this place another try just because I liked the environment; figured maybe I just got a few bad artists this go round. However, I can't justify spending that much money on a manicure that lasts only 24 hours, especially when there was no nail art or anything special about it. Sad to say that after all is said and done I would not recommend this place. The two stars are given for the front desk team and salon cleanliness. Been a customer for a ling time until recently. I have been patient at times waiting for my appointment to begin because I understand when clients run late it messes up the appointment times for the day...however I called on a Monday to set an appointment only one available was for Saturday at 2pm I took it. Arrive at salon Saturday on time to be told I didn't have an appointment some error had occured. I was told I could wait until 3pm and my technician would be available because another client had my 2pm appointment. It was now 2:15 and this salon has a rule that you loose the appointment if you run that late. I suggested I sit down and get serviced and the late client get the 3pm. Was told no. LANI IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST - try to book with her if you can! I have been a client of Lani's for a few years and she is the best at my gel manicures and regular pedicures. Her attention to detail is AMAZING and every client loves her - she is just hard to book with so call in advance! This is the cutest nail salon I have been in that was not an actual spa! I love the smell, the look of the salon, etc. It is still a new salon so I do see some areas of improvement. I was excited when I found this place because it's so close to where I live, but I won't be coming back. There was nothing aggressively terrible about my appointment, but there were several things that I've never experienced at other salons. I waited 25 minutes for my pedicure to start (I had an appointment at 2:30p and it started closer to 3p.) The water in my bowl was turned on but I had to turn it off otherwise it was going to overflow. I witnessed the tech next to me be rude to her customer. I had that same tech for my pedicure and she had a bad attitude with me as well and was fairly rude. She also dug under my nail so hard more than once where I actually said "ow!" when I believe my pain tolerance to be pretty high. On more than one occasion she also dug her nail into my skin extremely hard. The same technician did my manicure and when she found out I had dip powder on that needed to be removed she became exasperated, got up to get a front desk staffer, and I was told she wasn't a dip technician and that they couldn't find one to remove my previous manicure. I was never asked what I had on that needed to be removed, and I've never experienced such a reaction at other salons. She ended up doing it anyway, so I'm not sure what the fuss was about. The manicure I got was just okay. The nails on my left hand are shorter than the ones on my right. My pinky finger got cut near the cuticle. I had a crack in one of my nails and the tech sloppily applied some glue and put gel over it, and by the morning the entire polish on that finger had lifted from my nail. I came in to get it fixed and by that time my nail had broken and it took two techs to do what needed to be done to fix it (a tip was added to protect that nail). They did end up fixing it for free, which is why I added an extra star. To be honest, I was afraid to leave a less than stellar review after seeing that the owner inappropriately responds to all negative reviews and sometimes attacks the writer, but I felt the need to be honest. read more

What nail tech doesn't use gloves?! I asked her to please use gloves and halfway she took them off and gave me attitude. Her hands were dirty and it's just unsanitary to not use gloves when working on people's feet! Maybe it depends who you get here but my lady did a terrible, messy job. Lady forgot to do half of my cuticles until I reminded her. She didn't cut 2 of my toes so they were uneven, until I reminded her. Left nail polish and topcoat all over my cuticles even though i asked 2x to remove it. Didn't take topcoat all the way up to the cuticles which you can see in the photo. I told her I wanted a natural, light pink color and she brings out like 4 different shades of basically the same pink, and swatches each one for me (and didn't make me feel silly for being picky). So... My first time here tonight. I had been calling several locations in studio City (where I live) to see if they do ombre nail styles. Everyone tells me, 'not on natural nails, just on acrylics.'. I'm disappointed because I have very thick Natural nails, friends have said they are as thick as toenails, and I do not want, nor do I need acrylics. Then, voila, I happen upon mail ink and spa. 'yes, we do ombre on natural nails. Anna can do that.' I head over for 6 o'clock appointment at this time, which is the only slot they had for her. I called in around 230 on a Saturday. Walk in, impressed with the cozy, clean, modern, friendly atmosphere. Quyen the queen did my toes, and the result was immaculate. I see they aim at perfection here. I'm not a bitch, but I'm not the easiest one to please either. ( I've had bad experiences at OTHER spas where I asked the manicurist to trim my LONG nails at the time, and he presumed they were acrylics, and he started DRILLING my finger nail down instead of simply clipping. I didn't know what the heck he was doing, and almost every one there reprimanded him for his negligence! Coulda sued, not my thing, no irreversible damage done, thank goodness) Anna starts her magic while I'm getting my pedicure. I had shown her a picture of my colleague's nails. I've been going to this salon for 6 months, after today I will not be going back. I made an appointment for myself and a friend. I asked for a gel manicure, she needed a regular manicure. We were seated right away and I appreciate that of course, but I knew we were off to bad start when I overheard the tech working with my friend ask her repeatedly if she wanted a gel manicure; the answer is no and was no each time she asked. My friend is having a medical procedure next week that requires her to have clean nails. If she wanted a gel manicure I would have booked her for a gel manicure. I understand this is business and they're trying to upsell but maybe ask once and then not again? Maybe there's a reason why she said no? Her manicure came out horribly. Her nails were long and almond shaped, she asked for them to be cut down and rounded - there was more than enough length to make this work. Her nails are all uneven, some of them are still almond shaped. I'll let her leave her own review but I've actually not seen a manicure that bad in a long time...other than mine. The tech cut my middle finger, didn't polish all the way down the nail bed, cut into the corners, drew blood on my pinky finger, massaged my hands for a whopping 5 seconds, and just generally rushed. I asked her to not cut my nails down, instead she just filed them way too short. I didn't love the color but honestly, who cares, it's just a color, I'll get over it. So long as it looks good, no big deal. What I didn't love though is being argued with about the color. I wanted navy blue, the color I ended up with is blue for sure but definitely with a purple undertone, totally fine, but the tech was trying to convince me it was blue; I'm literally looking at them, I know the difference between blue and purple. Anyway, the thing that finalized it for me was that as we were checking out I noticed a tiny streak of the polish on my pinky. I asked if she could just remove it quickly, should be no big deal, yet somehow it was. After re-explaining what I needed she got it, but rather than remove it with polish remover she filed it off hitting my pinky nail and leaving the nail edge ragged/rough. When I asked if she could fix that the owner told me, very politely, but nonetheless pointedly, "just tell her everything you need at once so she doesn't have to keep going back and forth"...to which I replied, "nevermind" and we left. Here's a thought, maybe if it had been done correctly to start I wouldn't need to "keep asking" for things to be corrected? We left, got in my car and my friend wiped off the polish. We ended up at CVS buying a file and new polish. She's currently doing her own nails and they look better than when we left the salon. $45 plus $12 tip from me, $35 plus a $7 tip from my friend only to end up at CVS? I won't be back. It's too bad because the space itself is really beautiful and everyone is super nice but that's just too much money to get a subpar mani, especially when there are so many other great places to go. I decided to get the dip powder manicure and a regular pedicure. Anna was my nail technician and she did a great job.. she was attentive to detail and would check in with me to make sure I was liking my nails. My dip powder mani was $50 + $8 for two marble design nails. Pedicure was $18 since I got the dip powder mani. Overall, I think the price is reasonable for the work they do.
