I most especially love that there's a nail salon of this caliber across the street from my place! WEE! The salon is small and painted pink. There's 2 chairs for pedicures, and about 4 stations for manicures. So please, book an appointment. They only take cash and check, but not too sure if they will be accepting credit/debit cards later on. I like Aqua because for gel polish, they offer so many array of colors & glitter. Most common nail salons only have 10-20, Aqua had 50+! Also during the manicure, the part where they push back your cuticles, they use this machine that has a round file-like drill and lightly smooth out your cuticles. It's like a mini massage for your nail bed. And last but not least, when it comes to nail art, they can do anything!! Gel art, regular polish art, 3D art, and acrylics. ERRRMAGAWD! I absolutely LOVE this place!!! I have been here twice so far and have had the pleasure of being serviced by both Yuki and Ayako once and they're just amazing at what they do. The first time I came was because I was looking for a good Japanese style nail salon that had nail designs quality like Cync Salon in Torrance (which I will not go back to even though i love the nails they create) that was in the South Bay area. It's definitely lacking in decor and nail styllists but at the same time its a good thing because even with just going 2x so far, I feel connected with them. The most recent experience I had there was with Ayako doing my nails and she was so sweet. I told her I wanted sunflowers and to keep it simple. From there, she winged it and came out with such a lovely design and nail cut for my nails. Even with the gel removal from the last time I came, i ended up spending less than $100 which is not bad at all (WITH TIP!) Note: This is a Japanese style salon. Do not expect the same experience as your typical asian salon where you just walk in. You don't get the feeling where they're trying to sell you more services or that they're talking ish about you. The salon itself is really cute and clean. There's about 4 tables for manis and 1 chairs for pedi. They have cute little boxes next to the tables where you can put your bag so it's not touching the floor (I thought this was a good idea, esp if you have a new bag or don't like placing your bags on the floor). I got a mint and gold colored design with some subtle gems and thingamabobs pasted tastefully all over, a la Yuki. I trusted her artistry and was super pleased. My galfriend got a glitterfabulous set from Ayako. Price: I paid $72 for my set (pre-tip), which took about an hour. Totally worth it in my books, the set looks incredible and is supposed to stay for the next few weeks until they grow out. Though I can't afford to go every three weeks to get them redone, I am definitely returning here for the next fun occasional nail splurge because I think the price is definitely fair for the work and time they put into the end product. Location: Located next to Hakata Ramen (usually very busy ramen house) and the bank next to Target. They have a parking lot with bunches of spaces. The first time I came was on Mar.14.18 and I wanted my nail set a bit fancier, and I was incredibly satisfied with the result! My nails had a purple concept for a Kpop group 'Astro,' and how they turned out was completely to my satisfaction. Keep in mind, fancier nails are a bit on the pricier end, but it is definitely worth it for the quality and durability of these nails. The process of getting gel nails here is very gentle, and leave ur nails in good condition even afterwards. My nails were looked as if they were just done even after 4-5 weeks before getting a new set. My second set of nails (white ombré base with blue mermaid-like details) done by Patricia did not disappoint me at all! Despite being a bit indecisive of how I wanted my designs to come out, I told Patricia that she could do it to her liking and she could surprise me, and it came out wonderful! I've been going to Ayako for the past 6 months. She is AMAZING. She is a great artist, so meticulous in her work. I've never had a nail person pay this much attention to detail when having my nails done before. I've completely converted to this salon. I no longer go to my other salon for anything. The people at nail salon aqua are so nice. Yuki, Amy and Ayako are some of the sweetest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. I always make an appointment. They are always on time. They sometimes even take me early for my appointments which is always nice. One of the best parts if this salon is that it's QUIET. I can actually hear myself think. I went here for the first time a little over a week ago. It's by appointment only and they were very punctual in letting me in on time. I got a pedicure and extensions. There was only one other customer and when she left the station she was at was fully sanitized. I got nails with quite a few gems. I let yuki know I wanted something with bling and just a little extra because they were my birthday nails. I told her the color I wanted and told her to do whatever she wanted. I was really happy with the result. The reasons I knocked off one star was for the following: The gel she used for my extensions was all over the underside of my nails. I kept getting dirt and such stuck under there which was a little annoying. It would have been nice for her to clean up after she was done but I didn't notice until after I got home or I would have asked her to do it. A few days after, gems started falling out. I've had 3 gems fall out so far but I have so many they still look nice! Dina did my pedicure and I was happy with it although they didn't have a big selection of regular nail polish. I had to get a different color on my toes than I got on my hands. Overall it was a very nice experience. Dina and Yuki were both super nice and professional and I will definitely go back. read more

They sat me with a guy and it was my first time getting my nails done from a man. I shrugged it off and told myself I would give him a chance. I asked him to do mermaid scales like the one posted on this yelp's business page. When he started doing them, my heart sank. He did a really bad job drawing the scales. It looked like it was drawn by a 10 year old. They were uneven, proportions were off, and the lines that were drawn were not even straight. He also added shells on my nails but accidentally added two shells on one of my nails, right on top of each other, so it's a lot thicker than it should be. I should have just walked out then or stopped it. I let him try THREE times to fix the scales. I'm a casual artist myself, and detail oriented enough, and I've gone to my other Japanese Salon to know when I am getting real nail art. This was not real Japanese nail art. I am sorry to have to say this. He was going to charge me $65 but I balked. There's no way I am going to pay for nails that I don't like that was not even done by a professional. He had me speak to the owner but the other nail lady Ayako redid the nails with the mermaid scales on them. She is the true Japanese nail artist. They still charged me $60 even though she only did one nail and I had to stay extra time to get it redone when they should have been able to do it right the first time. They didn't bother to redo all the rest of his work. I still tipped her and the man because they put a lot of work into it. Yes, Ayako is the true artist, and I think I would go back to her, but since this is my first experience with them, it left a bad taste in my mouth. It will take a long time for me to be able to go back because they broke my trust in believing they can do professional work from the beginning. They should have given me the real Japanese nail artist from the start and avoid this kind of review. The removal process was terrible. Please take your time with my nails and not force the gel off! I am an absolute fan of Cal gel and Presto and I don't mind the price as long as i get the service. I was also referred by a friend. I got a full set with designs and everything for my Wedding day. They were beautiful! 4 days later, 3 nails had broke....not what I expected after paying $69. I've been wearing acrylic for years so I know how to maintain my nails. I was on my honeymoon but I remembered that the flyer said that they do not charge to fix nails if they break within 5 days. I rest assured that I would promptly have them fixed with my fill when I returned. When I went to get a fill, a new girl did my nails. I explained to her up front what happened and that there should be no charge for the fixes per the flyer. Her english wasn't very good so there was an issue when it came time to pay and I saw she was still charging although the flyer said otherwise. I asked her to call the owner whom I spoke to over the phone. I explained the whole story and she told me I had to pay still because I didn't come back within the 5 days!!! I explained that I was travel ling for my honeymoon and she said I should have Called to report the nails!?!?! Are you kidding me??? I'm supposed to call you to report a claim for nails while I'm on my honeymoon?.....The last thing on my mind. I couldn't believe that she would haggle me for a few dollars when I'm paying so much more for my nails. It boggles me when people are so short sited and more concerned about charging me a few dollars more than keeping a new client. She ended up taking off the extra charge but this was a poor service experience. Poor service and a quality product are a bad mix....I might go back, but not sure. read more

It wasn't that hard to find and parking was not bad. I walked in and was greeted which was nice. Sat down and gave my disclaimer that I'm very picky and needed not only a fill but to fix the issues my last nail person made. I didn't want to take them off just fix and fill. My nail artist, understood and fixed all the issues and filled them ( I have and will only do CalGel). they are BEAUTIFUL!!! I get tons of compliments and I'm very happy.. You get what you pay for here and the time and quality that is put in is noticeable. It would be safe to say that all the ladies there are pretty good. Ayako San fit me in last minute. I had 3 or 4 broken nails, one short nail and a birthday coming up. She put a THINNNN acrylic layer over the broken nails and even hooked up the short one to be the same length as the others, put on a pretty pretty gel shade and some rhinestone designs. The first time I went in and got pink sparkle gel with a big rhinestone bow charm before going on my honeymoon in Florida, and it stayed perfect the whole time! I've had her do natural color gel for work and they always came out perfect.
