The design came out exactly like the inspiration photo I showed and she even tried a few different colors for the base to make sure it was perfect. I have very small nails even when they're grown out and she was still able to paint these tiny leaf designs PERFECTLY! Usually my gel nails chip or peel after 1 week but the hard gel they use is like magic.They are so detail oriented and can probably do any design you want. She takes her time with your nails and any request is met with an ethusiastic, "OK!" I recommend looking at some of her Japanese magazines to get ideas for nail designs, or looking at her past clients' nails on her flicker account. Although I've done everything from regular manicures to acrylic, my favorite is gel. It's healthier than acrylic and it looks natural. Also, they can last for 3-4 weeks if you take good care of them. But trust me, you'll find yourself coming in sooner than 3 weeks because you can't wait to change the color and design. Another thing that I like about Mie is that her prices are fair considering the amount of work she does. I've seen other salons charge triple digits for something Mie can do. As soon as I walked in, she sat me down in a big comfy chair and went right to work. She is very friendly, listened to what I wanted and gave me suggestions. I let her do what she wanted with the art. I love the outcome, by far the best set of nails I've ever had! The artwork was flawless!! Her technics and products used were from Japan which I was very intrigued by! I will say that they are pricier then the standard vietnamese salons. I have been a regular at Marcelina since my first visit in February of this year. My nailist is Hiromi. She is very sweet and pays a lot of attention to detail. I always go with a photo of a nail design and she matches it perfectly! I recieve compliments on my nails every time I go out. Besides making my nails beautiful, Hiromi has fixed rips/breaks in my nails with gel that have lasted weeks without breaking!! I am able to grow out the damage without having to cut my nails short, which I think all girls can appreciate. She also makes a real effort to keep my natural nails in good condition beneath the gel and always inspects them before starting a new design. I have broken a nail once before and I was able to have an extension sculpted on which lasted literally until my nail caught up to the others in length! I find the sculpture method much better than cheap nail tips, but unfortunately a lot of salons do not offer this option so I was pleased to find out that Marcelina could provide this service!
