I'm from out of town, I'm working here on a project, came in for a manicure and by the end of the day my polish was coming off. It looks as if I have not received a manicure , I'm scheduled to go out of town on business and I need to have this fixed. Probably one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a nail salon. I asked for them to remove my acrylics and left with my pinky nail in shambles. She was using other acrylic tips to dig under my acrylics and pry them off. If I wanted that I could have just done that at home. Then I guess one of the nails was harder for her to get off, so then she proceeds to dig into my nail with the cuticle clippers. I now have a hole in middle of my natural nail exposing the skin underneath my nail. I showed her and she dunks my pinky into a shot glass of acetone. So then my finger felt like it was burning off, and I still had to pay full price. I left with my finger throbbing and walked next door to the Safeway to grab a bandaid. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! read more

I came here after a horrible experience at another salon. Pro tip, come on an off day at an off time. Example Wednesday at 3 pm. I went to Jenny and she really transformed my nails. She took her time working on my nails. I got a French manicure and I give 4 stars just because she made the white part just a tad too big. If I could give a -1 star rating, I would. I've gone here many times over the past two years, pre and during covid. I always go to Mary, but this time I came on a whim and she was already helping another client. I asked for a gel pedicure and received the older man as my technician (didn't get his name). He initially did such a good job with my pedicure that I decided to give him a try on my hands. BIG MISTAKE. I asked for a soak off/removal and new gel set. I wanted long black stilettos and currently had much shorter tips on. Upon him inspecting my hands/acrylic nails, he says, "You don't need a new set, just a fill in and I can make pointy shape you like". I asked him if he could definitely make the nails longer, he said, "no problem". He starts to file and shape my old set. I tell him that it wasn't pointed/sharp or even long enough to my liking (see photo) and he goes, "Oh okay, I'll give you new set". (Which I originally asked for). He then proceeds to cut my nails and try to use a tool to lift the acrylic off instead of soaking them. I tell him after wincing and gasping 3xs, "you're hurting me/my nail", so he tries a different tool. The 2nd tool didnt work, so he THEN tried to use a new tip to lift the old nail. INSTEAD OF SOAKING MY NAILS. I see my pinky nail crack right down the middle immediately (I have brittle nails, which I already was aware of). I asked him to stop, informed him he cracked my nail. He responded "its not cracked, we'll soak off". I asked for the "manager"(didn't get a name), tell her what happened and showed her my nail. She talks to the old man in his native tongue and he starts to soak my nails; after the third round of soaking/filing, he looked at my damaged pinky, looks me in my face and says, "This was already cracked/damaged". I lost it, the manager came back over to apologize again. At that point I was done, I paid for my pedicure and left. It was the worst service I've ever experienced there and i dont think ill be back anytime soon. I just checked the rest of my nails again, my left middle nail is cracked and cut past the new nail growth as well. I headed home in tears to fix the damage he's done. NEVER HAVE THAT MAN TOUCH YOUR NAILS. I don't understand how we are paying for service/what we want and the "professionals" won't listen. I paid for gel polish, but the polish started to come off after only a couple of days. It cost me $71.00, my nails look awful. I was pretty anxious to come here due to the other reviews but all of the nail shops that are near my home have about the same type of reviews so I figured I'd give this place a try. The interior could be updated at some point, but other than that, they are clean and they open new packs of tools for every client. If you don't see them do this, you can always ask. They cover the pedicure tubs with plastic, which should be the standard in every salon now. My technician was Vicky and she was really nice and gentle with me. I got the SNS powder gel and a classic pedicure. She dipped my nails into all of the powder but next time I will ask for them to sprinkle it on with a brush or put it in a separate jar. I didn't know this was a sanitary issue before I went. My only actual complaint is that I wish the gel could have been slightly thinner. She could have buffed just a little more. But other than that the experience was just fine. I will probably go back when my gel grows out and go back to Vicky to soak them off. Go in morning to mid day on a week day (except Friday) if you can, especially if you're doing a walk in. Going in at a busy time to any salon, they'll just rush and you won't be happy. The manicure itself turned out looking fine, but while the technician was trimming her cuticles (with a high powered file), he made her cuticles bleed on three separate fingers. She asked for a gel manicure, but the nail tech put on nail tips, and then acrylic over that, and then gel on top of the acrylic. She asked a few times if he was putting acrylic on her natural nails and he assured her that he wasn't, even though he was clearly dipping his brush in the powder and putting it on her nails. It's a day later and a piece of the gel manicure on the thumb has already chipped. Her cuticles don't look healthy, and they are red. I wouldn't come back here. read more

Literally so bad, these cost $55 and they look awful. This is "almond" shaped. The nail goes all the way up past my cuticle like it's on my skin they're so large and thick and over buffed in certain spots so the color is uneven and it looks cloudy and weird and there's a bunch of bumps and air bubbles. I came here after work because I didn't like the way they did my nails at Rose Nails in Lanham, and normally I would pay $25 for a gel fill set but they charged me $35. Ms. Vicky did my nails and she did a good job. Can't complain. I'm just used to more luster. The polish around my cuticles are inconsistent, but I like how she shaped and molded my nails. She takes her time with the molding of the acrylic. She didn't rush me to pick a color like some of these other places do. I may go back again in the near future. But going into the salon its small and the space is tight. They have been there since the 90's. I'm surprised they are opened Sundays. I came here for the convenience of the location after I got off work, but I regret it because my nails were rushed and did not last long at all. The interior is a little cramped and not the cleanest, but that might be because it's an old shop. I'm only giving them the extra star because the workers were very nice and accommodated me last minute. I was hoping to find somewhere to get my ombre dip nails filled, but they didn't know how to, so instead they scrapped them and had me choose a different solid color. That's fine, but the quality of the work was still pretty bad. Even the shape of my nails were slightly uneven. The color looked nice, but it was applied sloppily and had uneven sections. After a week, the nails started chipping and peeling off entirely. Overall, the dip nails only cost $40, but I would have rather just opted to go somewhere nicer for better, lasting quality. read more

If i could give this place ZERO stars, I certainly would. I work in the area and to come here on my lunch break is pretty convenient for me. Recently, I went for a gel fill in and a cut down. Lets just say that by the time Lisa was finished, my nails looked like a 5 year old polished them and the shape was just off. I had to rush off to get back to work, so I couldn't take the time to complain that day. The next day after one of the nails had broke, I returned to have my nails fixed appropriately. Lisa was looking at me like I was 10 Karats crazy. She pretended to not see what she did wrong. I simply told her that I wanted her to redo what she had done because for $40, i'm sure I could have done a better job myself. She redid the work for free and it still looks silly. There was a time I was coming here consistently mainly because I used to work at CVS one door over (before it moved to their own location, still in the Greenway Shopping Center). Once I left, this place never crossed my mind again. Why? Because I've found better local establishments. Last Saturday, I was in a bind. Since I had to do a lot of shopping at the Center, it just made sense for me to go back here and get my nails and feet 'did'. Gel maniure and Callous Treatment pedicure was on the menu for that afternoon. The lady who attended to me, while nice, didn't do such a good job. As I type this, my gel manicure is chipping. Also, while having a go at my feet, she stopped midway to claim that she can't go any further because it may destroy my skin. That having a little bit of callous is a good thing because it protects the feet and blah blah blah. Bitch, you were tired of scrubbing my feet! Just say that. Like, what kind of spiel... Instead my feet were soaked in some green slim-looking fluid and the older gentleman who did my pedicure obviously had no idea what he was doing. So I come here because it's close by. Listen they are extremely expensive for the poor quality work they do. They are fake "nice" while talking about you in Vietnamese. I came twice to get a nail fixed. The nail was lumpy and looked bad. After the second time I just said OK screw it I'm going to have to do this because now it's getting old I have to make time to go over there and have him fix it it's just whatever. So I went back I explain this to the so-called manager he's going to not compensate me in anyway and then tell me he'll change my nail color for $20 gel nail change color $20. The nail technician proceed to talk about it in Vietnam like I don't understand. I don't lol. But I KNOW you are talking about the situation. Ok I just take a deep breath and say let's just move forward. So now the nail technician next to me all in the business looking pissed! She attempts to explain to me why that was the problem. Talmabout " you confused us" You don't get a discount". I keep changing. To be clear I never changed anything but the color I wanted. I requested a discount when I arrived and spoke to the manager. She proceeds to "tell me the problem " here's the thing someone is upset about their money. But.... Listen Linda look it! Came for a full face wax the day of my wedding. The tech was really sweet but she refused to do the nose. She claims they do not do it "here" even though they charge $30 where most places its $25. Kevin Haung (Huang) was the worst nail tech I've ever had. I got a full set and asked for my nails to be short. He didn't cut them short enough as I requested saying when he filed them they'd be short enough. They were not and he had to file them two times to get them where I wanted. He got an attitude with me because I wanted my nails done correctly. He was the worst and I would never go there again. And would not recommend this place to anyone. Avoid this place! They have terrible customer service and no hygenic boundaries--they reuse wax sticks on different customers! I went for an eyebrow wax. I went to the back and sat in the chair. Here is my objective observation. A customer was getting a pedicure and politely asked to clarify the pricing. The nail tech disagreed and told the customer she was wrong and that it was going to cost more. The customer said something along the lines of, "But I thought..." blah blah blah. She sounded sincere to me. The nail tech sternly said to her that she was wrong. Then the nail tech shouts across the salon in her native language and obviously starts talking about the customer. The other worker she was talking to spoke back in their language and with her hands, made a gesture as if to say "Whatever!" And then the nail techs laughed. Terribly unprofessional. Then, as I sit and observe some more, I look over at the wax warmer right next to me, you know, because I'm waiting for my eyebrow wax, right? And there are waxing sticks laying on the warmer, with used wax on them! If that doesn't freek you out, someone's eyebrow hair was stuck on one!!!!!!! I leaned over and peeked inside the wax warmer and there were more hairs inside!!! I couldn't believe it! not only were they double-dipping the sticks but they were using the sticks over and over on different customers!!!! How disgusting! I couldn't believe it so I waited for her to come do my eyebrows. Sure enough, she took one of the used sticks, dipped it it the wax, and reached for my face! This is the worst nail salon I have ever visited. First off, when I walked into the place it was completely empty (I should've seen that as a sign). Second of all, the nail techs don't wear gloves or masks. The nail tech that did my full set of acrylics smelled like cigarettes, and was very rough with his filing. It felt like he was trying to break my nail. He ignored me when I told him that he was hurting my nail and then proceeded to tell me that I was being sensitive. The interior of the salon was very small, and messy in the back, and the tools looked like they have never been sanitized. While I was getting my nails done, another lady came in and complained about nails she got done a day before. It's pretty clear that they have soo many issues. I will not be going back. Came here yesterday to get my nails done - only half the techs had licenses up, the shop was dirty, gel selection is limited, and my nails look HORRIBLE. The tech was brusque, rushed me out of the chair before my gel was even set when he saw someone come in (I assume one of his regulars), polish is unevenly applied, thick and bubbled in some spots, some spots completely bare. They did not try to up-sell me on anything which I really appreciated. The building itself is a bit run down and could use some upgrades, which accounts for the loss of one star. While the staff was nice enough, and they do take walk ins, the shop is not very clean. They reuse all equipment without a noticeable sterilization process. There is no private room for facial waxing, you're on a chair in the narrow hall by the bathroom. They only rinsed the foot tubs out, didn't use anything to kill the crud. read more

DO NOT GO THERE IF YOU LOVE YOUR EYEBROWS!!!!!!! The lady waxed my eyebrows and when I looking in the mirror I told her she burned me on both my eyebrows. She clamed she did not when you can clearly see two DARK THICK BROWN marks under my eyebrows. I told the manager that I shouldn't have to pay because she burned me and it was painful. Ive come to this shop 2-3 times over the last couple months and I shouldve known by the shabby not so clean appearnce of the shop that they werent about anything but the coins. The first visit was pretty average. Got a pedi and gel manicure. It was near closing time so they pretty much did a sloppy job with my manicure. Second visit I was kind of in a rush so I asked what was the wait. Typical nail shop lies.. "oh 10 minutes.." I waited and another person walked in right into a chair. 20 more minutes go by and I ask again when will I be serviced they tell me another 20 minutes because she had an appointment. Forgive me but i could care less about her appointment when she arrived late. She didnt come in on the hour or even on a normal incriment of time. Eventually I just walked out. I wont be back. Horrible. They're rude and obviously blind. I came in to get my middle finger fixed. The design was a simple black arrow and 4 small dots. The colors were black and white. The lady put on navy blue and put 6 dots. Looks nothing like what i asked for. I didn't complain because i was pressed for time. As i was walking up to pay, the woman who did my nails asked loudly if i was paying with cash. I replied no and she rolled her eyes and sighed deeply.
