Nail Tique is one of the most hit or miss and almost impossible to accurately review nail salons I have ever been to. The quality of the mani or pedi you leave here with is so hard to predict, it depends entirely on the day, time, and person you have. For a lot of people, that is a deal breaker. For ME even that is usually a deal breaker. But unfortunately the people I meet up with to have nails done every 2 weeks pick this place every time. I cannot in good conscious give this place a 1 star review, because that would be incredibly unfair to the few 5 star nail technicians I have had. But I also cannot give it a 5 star review because of the COMICALLY horrible work that some if the other technicians I have had have done. In the past I have left here with gel so incorrectly applied that the whole piece of polish has slid off half my nails by the time I got home. I have had the incorrect polish color applied be past two times I've been here because their gel color palettes to choose from are so old the colors don't even match up. And like so many other nail salons, they are famous for having you show up for your appointment and because of how packed the place is you ask "How long is the wait?" They always answer, "Oh just 5 minutes, have a seat." But without fail 30 minutes later you're still sitting there waiting. When it comes down to it, I blame ownership and management for not having more consistency in the ability of the people who work here. Some are exceptional, and some are exceptionally bad. I always make an appointment with My before I go in. She's the only person I trust to do my eyebrow waxing and she does my acrylic nails with gel color as well. My acrylics usually last for 3 weeks! Filthy and they did a hilariously terrible job on my full set gel nails. It feels like I have giant globs of Elmer's glue on my fingers. They attached the tips and buffed them out, and after applying a shoddy 2 coats of gel polish and 1 top coat they asked me to wash my hands and that was it! No shaping the nail, nothing! It is really convenient to go to a nail salon that is in the mall. Pedicures are $25, manicures are $15 and pedicure plus manicure is $35-$36. The staff are friendly and the place is open and clean. I wish we could rate employees separately. The first time I visited Nailtique, I had My do my pedicure. She did great. She took her time and gave my legs and feet a great massage. My most recent time I had someone else. She wasn't interested in doing a pedicure to say the least. The most she did was cut 4 toe nails and then paint them. The rest of the process, she was speeding through and did not do a thorough job. In the end, my feet were still rough in spots and I had misshapen nails. All that said, it's a clean place, but a bit cramped. The rest of the staff are friendly from what I can tell. If you go here looking for a pedicure, ask for My! I took my gf here for her birthday, she got the works, (French mani/pedi, eyebrows, design) and I got a mani pedi as well. We loved the service and results but felt like we were way way way over charged, $150 for all of the above when the French was advertised as free, and the designs were only on one digit of each limb was outrageous, I paid it because I didn't want to embarrass her on her birthday or I would have made a scene. Before visiting Nail Tique, I came across several negative reviews about this salon on Google reviews and Yelp, but as always, I wanted to give it a try for myself; even if it seems easier and more convenient to judge based on reviews. Honestly, I'm so glad I kept an open mind and went. First of all, their prices are so beyond reasonable. I got a full set acrylic manicure for only $27! That's half, even a third of the price at other salons I've gone to. Their prices are unbeatable. Second of all, the manicurist did such a phenomenal job, and so did the manicurist at the station next to mine. I love how my acrylics came out. And she was so fun to talk to! I noticed a lot of reviews mentioned the space, but that's not their fault. They're a small business inside Westfarms Mall, they have no control over the size of their location. Once you're sitting down and getting your nails done, space is not an issue. Also, if you find that they have a low selection of nail polish colors (which I disagree with), bring in your own next time you visit! I went in yesterday with my friend to get my nails done on the only day I've had off in weeks and I even set up a appointment and when I got there they just gave me a guy who didn't have a clue what he was doing, told him how I wanted them, short and square and I even showed him my friends nails and first he cuts them long and I was like can u do shorter and he ignored me so my friend told him to do shorter and then he finally cut them and I said square and he starts rounding them and I was like can u do more square I don't want round and again completely ignored me and at one point I took the nail filer and did them myself and he's like u want them more round and I was like no I want them more square I never told u to round them and his coloring job was a mess, I went in today to talk to a manager for my money back because this is disappointing and she wouldn't even do that for me instead she wanted me to sit down so she can "fix" them but there's no fixing them without making them look even worse unless u take them all off and redo it and she didn't wanna do that either..never going back.....DISGUSTING SERVICE read more

I've been going to Nailtique for probably at least the last six years. They are are always friendly and eager to provide their services to you in a professional manner. As a walk-in I haven't had to wait more than 10 minutes and if it does get real busy they call their other salon in the mall to have additional workers come down to help. The rule is you should probably go every two weeks to get your nails filled but sometimes that is not always convenient for me and I go longer than that and I can honestly say that my nails don't break, lift or chip. I would definitely recommend this salon to anyone and have done so. The only comment I have that if you left Nailtique dissatisfied with the service, it was only because you were having a bad day. Nail Tique is not what I had believed it was. While it was a very convenient location, I had been cheated out of my money and they did a poor job. When they waxed my eye brows they did it beautifully. I was quite happy. But my acrylic nails were made much too long and square despite my many requests for short, rounded ones. The woman doing my nails also promised she knew how to do a pretty flower design on two of my nails. I was left with a hack job that looked nothing like the aforementioned design and nail polish all over my fingernails. To add insult to injury, the two crooked designs did not even match one another. She even left the white powder underneath. Come time to pay, my total was $75. It was quite overpriced but I wasn't too concerned. I had accidentally handed the woman five $20 bills instead of four. She kept all of the money and upon me asking for it back, she denied me even giving her the five $20 bills. All in all, I personally felt cheated and ripped off. Went for a Shellac manicure and... 1. They did not use real Shellac (she used Gelish). 2. The girl used a different color from the one I picked and insisted that that was the correct color when I questioned her. As a matter of fact, she used the time when I put my hands under the UV light to redo all the indexing of the Gelish nail polishes so that gives you an idea of how clueless she/the store was. 3. Since she did not use the real thing, she had to have me put my hands under the UV light for several minutes longer than is needed for Shellac. 3. The luster on the right hand and left hand ended up being different; the left hand color is duller. 4. The color hue on each finger is uneven: the color pigment gravitated towards the tip of fingers, creating an effect similar to that of ugly bleach spots. 5. Both the girl and her coworker kept speaking in Vietnamese while I was there and it was a bit awkward to sit there and not understand anything. I don't know how long-lasting Gelish is but I guess I will have this unsightly work on my hand for a while =( Conclusion: I won't be going back there and you probably shouldn't bother, either. read more

I had originally went here because of convenience - it's in the mall and it's open later than any other nail salon in the area. The environment is really important, and I didn't think theirs was welcoming. They also had a very small choice of colors, and my manicure (one that lasted less than 10 minutes) was horribly done. I went to Nailtique for a gel manicure yesterday and before the night was over, my left index finger chipped. I went to a different salon to PAY to have that problem corrected last night. Now TODAY, my right index finger has chipped. I have NEVER had this happen before with any gel manicure. I have been going to this salon off and on for years and have never had a problem until now. I had a full set put on the the young man who did it nicked my hands 4 times with the sander tool they use. one of the nicks is the full length of my nail.Even after he saw it was bleeding, he still went over it with both the buffer and a nail file!. I wasn't sure i was going to say anything but one of the cuts looked like it was getting infected. I went back to show them and they didn't seem to care. terrible nail salon. i've been there about 3-4 times now and only had 1 good experience. the male nail technician (im unsure of his name) is amazing! does a great job at a full set. however the other times i went there to get just a gel manicure, no full set i've had a terrible experience. gel is supposed to last 2 weeks on average and each time mine started to chip after about 5 days... the woman didn't even my nails out at all and she made them uneven so they looked crooked. also idk if this is necessarily their fault but 3 of my nails chipped at the top afterwards and got ridges in the top so they dip down. not to mention it's overpriced and they're extremely rude. their used to be 2 nail salons in the mall and the other one was 10x better. they should've gotten rid of this one instead read more
