This place is obviously under new ownership and if I were the previous owner I would be furious that my name was associated with the new business. Worst manicure I have EVER received. My one year old niece could have done a better job. The shape is wrong. The polish has bubbles and ripples. The woman doing my nails couldn't understand what I wanted and no one was helping her. My husband and I stumbled across this place (thanks Yelp!) while we waited for our hotel room to become available during a quick trip to Charlotte. No wait at all. EVERYONE was so kind and kept active conversations going between staff and clients the entire time we were there. They even teased my husband (in good fun) because they thought he asked for gel polish. The young lady doing my nails looked at me in horror like...does he really want gel?! I could tell they are good to everyone all of the time because when we arrived, one of the clients was helping the owner on a phone call to deal with an issue she was having communicating with a customer service rep because of the language barrier. I'm pretty sure someone wouldn't help another person that way, unless they were equally as kind to them. If I lived in the area, I would definitely be a regular! I came back for a full set and pedicure and this time I had the opposite experience in that I felt kind of rushed. I was a walk in and it was around noon on a Thursday. I wanted a full set and the lady who did them was rushing through my service while focusing on the customers leaving, walking in, paying etc. The pedicure was the same lady I had last time and equally as good but I wasn't as happy with the outcome of my full set. I randomly picked Nailtrix from yelp and it's a place you wouldn't find unless you were looking for it. Not too appealing on the inside but boy was I surprised. My nail tech did an amazing job!!! She told me she has been doing nails for 20 years and it shows. Better yet she did full set and gel for $40! Charlotte tends to have a lot of pricey nail salons and the lower end prices tend to match the work, this place really showed me their worth. Just an FYI, they are currently under new management and/or ownership. Previously, Nailtrix was my favorite and go to. Great service, long lasting pedicures and SNS, excellent price. Walked in unaware of the switch. And will not be going back. SNS cracked within a week, pedicure was rushed and subpar, price for both services was up by $20. I went to this place because of the 20% off coupon as it clearly shows on yelp, but they said "we don't do that, the previous owner set it up, we just moved and changed the owner so we don't accept it", I said "That's none of my business, I came here to use this coupon" They keep arguing so I paid the full amount and left. The customer service were sucks, they don't offer drinks either, and the inside of the salon was not clean... I read a few mixed reviews about this place and their skill with acrylics but I had a coupon so I decided to give it a try- Ya'll, I am SO pleased with my nails! I went in with a friend and we both wanted acrylics but they only had one woman on staff who could do them (it was a thursday afternoon and we weren't in a rush). Instead of doing one person and then the other like a lot if places I've gone to do, she alternated between the two of us with each step so one person didnt have to wait an hour. She worked quickly but was very detailed with applying the powder and shaping the nails and got them all very even and smooth! Overall it was great and I'll be coming back for sure. Would've been only $27 but with the coupon it was $22- for a full new set! My friend got gel polish and it was only $35. Love it!!! read more

When I walked in I wasn't sure how I'd end up feeling about this place. I came for an acrylic fill in with gel polish and I had to wait about 35-40 minutes before my nail tech started on me. That already had me kind of annoyed. My tech finally started on my nails she actually surprised me by doing a decent job. The solid nail color I chose ended up being a little pinker than I intended but I decided to just leave it and not change it. Also if you check in on Yelp a 20% off coupon pops up. Unfortunately I did not see this until after I paid and was not told about it but I was given the option to save it for later. For my fill in with gel polish I paid $35. I believe the gel polish was $15 extra. There wasn't a service menu anywhere to be found so I'm not 100% sure. Not a bad place to go if you're looking for a relatively inexpensive nail place. read more

Came in on a saturday, place was empty. Decided to get a mani pedi. The older lady did my pedicure. She made my legs feel so good with the massage. The older man did my manicure. He did good. The decor of this place is NOT spa like, nothing in here was appealing on the eyes but they prices are on the lower end. I wasnt even offered a glass of water or wine. So heres the reason for the 2 star rate. Today is Sunday and my hand polish is chipped not a little....alot!!! Its pretty much ruined and i will have to remove it. Will i come back? Full massage, exfoliation etc I was running late to another engagement so the middle aged man came to do my manicure while I was in the chair for my pedicure. I went to this place for the first time because my regular place was closed and boy what a TERRIBLE experience. I called and made a appointment for 2:00 for a SNS manicure plus eyebrow wax. When I arrived I told the lady I had a appointment at 2 she just looked at me . I sat down and waited contemplating on just getting up and leaving because it was such a negative vibe . It was now 2:30 and still totally ignored and several new people that came in after me were getting taken. finally around 2:45 I was told to come sit here by a very nasty , mean old woman that I believe was the owner. Never once did she say she was running behind or sorry instead she talked to her employees the whole time . I found the situation to be so unprofessional not to mention it was the worst SNS I've ever gotten it already needs to be redone and I had it done 4 days ago. Do not go here save your money and go elsewhere. The owner is so nasty with zero people skills and if your not a regular customer there you will not be offered a drink like all the others were . I had to kill some time in the area and looked on Yelp and saw this place was opened. I decided to stop by to get a gel mani. They have a decent selection of colors. The two women working are friendly. Overall, I was happy with my manicure from the lady that did my nails. She did have to finish someone up so another lady finished. My mani was basically does but I had some polish around my skin. No biggie. Usually people will just get a brush and use polish remover to remove it but for some reason this lady got a nail clipper and clipped each part of skin that had polish on it. I don't mind if it was here and there but she clipped every single finger all underneath my nails. One time she cut me in a raw and sensitive part on my ring finger I started to bleed. I was cringing after that because I was scared I was going to bleed again. Overall, I'm happy with the color and the mani except for that part. The price was decent too. read more

Very happy with my pedicure! The atmosphere was quiet and calm & cool. Pedicure chairs seem new-ish. Lots of gel color choices (although my first choice was too low to use, it was easy to find a second choice). My older daughter came with me and my little girl too. We are all happy with our results. No wait (but we did have an appointment). Paid $30 for gel pedicure. Next time I'll do the $35 pedicure to include the massage. The attendants didn't speak much but I was ok with that as I could talk to my daughters and even relax a bit. I've been to other places where everyone is very friendly & talkative but if you want to go and just read a book or look at your phone you can't really do that unless you want to seem rude. Some of the popular salons in Charlotte are gorgeously decorated with a club vibe but I will take quality nail care and service over that any day. Sure, the décor at Nailtrix is minimal and there is no funky music playing, but I never feel rushed (they always spend 5-10 minutes massaging each leg!) and my nails always look great when I leave. Flip-flops have been provided every time I have needed them and the polishes on display are Essie, OPI and some drug store brands. The chairs are very comfortable and the prices are great: $35 for a mani/pedi in South Charlotte is a deal. read more

I'm writing to compliment Linh who did my manicure last week. She is a lovely, quiet young woman who obviously runs deep. I was three weeks out from surgery and went in reluctantly for a manicure, mainly because my husband thought it would make me feel better. After preparing my nails Linh asked if I wanted color. When I said no she politely waited for a minute then asked if I might feel better if I had a pretty pink on my nails. She was spot on. Despite my not feeling 100 percent, I chose a pink she offered and we moved through it. Honestly, I was surprised at how sensitive she was to my not feeling well.
