I can't say enough great things about CRYSTAL NAILS on Vasco! Tien does an amazing job on my Gel Nails and I just had a gel pedicure with Ri who was so detailed and did a great job. This salon should be everyone's go to in the Tri Valley area. The owner is sweet and extremely professional and they have been here for years. I like coming on Tuesdays. I've been going here for a while and had a bad experience with a nail tech once, but then started going to Tien, and she does a good job. This review is about the price gouging I experienced during my last trip there. I normally get tap gel on my nails which costs $60. I told the girl who manages the salon that I wanted to see the price sheet, which showed they charge $43 for gel. I told her that for this time I wanted to save some money and just do the gel manicure. She tried to talk me out of it, but I reiterated that I wanted to save some money this time so I would do the gel. When it came time to check out, my total, with a gel pedicure was $113. I asked to explain and they said they charged me an extra $20 to take off my tap gel. That was never mentioned when I talked to the girl who manages the place and told her I was doing the gel to save money. It ended up costing me more than if I had done the tap gel. I was shaken up and upset that this happened and didn't even notice that when I paid and added the tip, the total was $5 more than what I included with tip. I felt robbed, cheated, and mistreated. They just lost a long-time customer with this unethical behavior. read more

I came here because the one that's close to my house was closed on a Sunday. I remembered hearing about Crystal Nails on LR&R, so I decided to give it a go! Yes, yes, and yes! Super clean, friendly staff, and attention to detail that I haven't experienced in a while. I got a gel manicure and classic pedicure. The gal who did my manicure made sure to look at my nails closesly before and after painting to make sure that everything looked good. She noticed little things I probably wouldn't have noticed myself, but she went back and made sure it was all perfect. We had an appointment first thing this morning and were running behind.. tried calling them and their phone has no call waiting option so it just said that the number is busy. Fine I show up 10 mins late and the lady literally dismissed us like "you're late and we're booked". She wasn't offering us to reschedule or wait. nothing. Just plain get out coz we're booked What's interesting is we then stopped by the Starbucks next door and a lady overhead us talking about it. And she said that she wasn't a fan of this place either..coz when she's on time or early, they're running late and she has to wait. We made an appointment and it started off okay cause they knew our appointment time however 20 minutes went by and nothing. finally they told us to go to the pedicure chairs. They asked how the water was wow they burn one of my daughters foot. They were not welcoming at all they were rude and rushing everything they were doing. My youngest daughter requested a little simple design they said that they were not able to do it with out getting gel nails. We were disappointed however we moved on, then they smeared my other daughter's toe nail polish, they tried to put the blame on her making it very awkward and proceeded to put polish on top of the original coat but didn't even bother to apply the top coat on or clean the remaining polish off. They also rushed her acrylics even with an hour left before they closed. The technician was rushing so much that they ran the nail drill over her skin 2x. I understand they wanted to leave but it wasn't even 5pm. I have never been in a nail place where you get a manicure and you don't get to put your hands in the water for a pre-soak. their service was the worse I ever had ...not to mention super expensive!!! I would not mind paying for a great service and hospitality but after $240 I won't never be back there! No thank you! I don't usually put reviews on Yelp but I have to say I have come here several times over the past few months and each time I have been impressed by the services and safety protocols. Every time I have made an appointment in advance they have taken me right on time. Never had to wait for my service. They always have someone ready to take me (which can be rare with nail salons!). They also take their time on the service itself. Never feels like they're rushing through it. In regards to COVID safety, they are top notch in my opinion. All employees wear masks and sometime even face shields on top of the masks. They spray down every area after every customer. Before you can even take a seat they check your temp and have you take hand sanitizer. Makes me feel very relaxed and comfortable. Friendly and good service but now that I'm looking closely at my toes I'm surprised at what I see, not very attentive to detail (the various coats appear very uneven). I will say that my heals and calluses were well cared for and my feet are soft and smooth now. I thought I might have to point out where one callus needed to be removed on a toe, but she took care of it on her own. My friends and I came here for the first time about a month ago the day before we left for Vegas. The owner Tammy was polite and inviting from the moment we walked in. She told us to let her know if there is anything we are unhappy with and she will fix it. She said, "It will take me a minute to fix it and I rather take that minute than you look at something you're unhappy with for two weeks." I enjoy conversing with her and she does a great job. I returned the other day and she recommended a new color they just added and I love how it turned out. I love getting my pedicures here too because they massage you for a good amount of time and use a scrub and a few other treatments on your feet and legs. I appreciate that Tammy likes to make the customer feel at home as if she is a friend you're hanging out with. Not the nail joint I am used to: Cleanliness: They definitely reuse tools. Service: Very quick, rushed. I will extremely surprised that there is a $10 difference in a typical manicure. $20 will get you a shellac PAINT. $30 will get you shellac PAINT + an additional cleaning. I feel like that service should already be included... but that's just me. Whatever floats your boat, in my case, $$ should equal service. I'm hoping this was a once in a blue moon experience, but we had called in at 3:45 to schedule 2 shellac manicure and 2 regular pedicures. (4 people total-- 2 manis and 2 pedis) Two in our party were extremely rushed in our mani-- again which was just essentially getting your nails painted. I had to ask to have my nails cut & filed. Pedis were extremely unsatisfactory. The two in our party had to wait more than 30 mins (mind you we had already scheduled an appt and the 2 manis were already done at this point) If you want a joint where it's like an assembly, here's your place! I was looking desperately in the area for any nail salon to get my eyebrows done while stopping by for coffee, I found this gem. It wasn't only 8 min or so until I was escorted to the waxing room by one of the lovely, charismatic employees. She was such a delight to speak to and thanked me for my patience since they were busy (it was Friday, late noon). $10 for an eyebrow waxing is affordable in my book, knowing some salons charge $15. Came in for a pedi and was overall unimpressed. The pedi was rushed and the paint job was messy with paint all over my cuticles that the owner never tidied up. My toe nails were unevenly cut as well. The reason I love pedis is because good nail techs do such a cleaner job of cutting, filing & painting my toes than I ever could, but that wasn't the case at B&B. The tech I had was the wife/owner, she just seemed in a huge hurry. My friend was also with me and although we both had appointments set for the same time, they started me first and my friend sat until her feet were prunes in the water before they started on her, I was basically done when they got started on my friend. The owner's nails gouged me during the massage and she kept forcing my feet into an awkward position while working on me saying I wasn't sitting right. Seriously? Lastly, the tools used on me came out of a stool drawer and didn't appear to be sterilized. The pumice was definitely pre-used, yuck! I'd rather pay a bit more (this pedi was $20, my normal place is $30) and get a higher quality of service. Hands down.
