I've been to many nail salons around town growing up here, but I had never been to Kim's for some reason despite living pretty close by. I called for an appointment and they were immediately so nice and welcoming. I came in 10 minutes later and they took us right away. This was my daughter's first manicure. The lady who did her nails was so nice and patient. My daughter smiled and chatted with her the whole time they even gave her a hair bow at the end. It's always really appreciated when a business is so good with kids! Kelly did my nails. She was hilarious and so kind and warm, even giving me a peptalk on positive affirmations. My nails came out beautifully! I paid $57 before tip for both of us! Thank you, Kim Nails! My six year old and I are so happy! We'll be back!

However, I left with my nails filed down to the point where they were very short and sensitive, and the shaping was uneven. The gel polish application also wasn't consistent. I chose a red color and there were sheer spots where you could see through the polish. It also wasn't applied close to the cuticle, and there was cured gel left on parts of my nails, which made the application look messy. I still paid and tipped because the technician was kind, but unfortunately this was my second time visiting and I wasn't impressed with the service either time. I unfortunately will not be returning. I was in and out in one hour. Nancy took such great care of me. I got a gorgeous gel pedicure and a trim and buff manicure. All under $100.00 I left them a great tip because the space was so clean, tidy, orderly, and well taken care of. The vibes were great! The ladies complimented me and chatted with me for a while. They are all so sweet. I didn't feel rushed or stressed out. Just a solid spot all around! It's tucked away in the Fairview plaza but this will be my new go to.

Jason is the only person in SB that does nails absolutely perfect, thin, elegant, natural looking. His wife Jen does the best pedicures ever!! Before I went to Jen, I didn't think a pedicure could be so perfectly done. I always get compliments on my nails and tell them they need to go to Tina's and see Jason! I had a slightly older lady work on my nails…read moreand I'm not sure if she was just clumsy (she kept dropping things) or not paying attention but when she was removing my previous gel manicure, she used the buffer tool and it got tiny skin above my cuticle and cut me. I had to point it to to her. 3 days later, that's still very sore and red, although healing. I didn't like how she filed my nails and kept asking her to make them rounded, but she didn't seem to notice they were still square. She applied the coats haphazardly and some nails she put the polish up to and slightly over the cuticle, and some she didn't get near the cuticle so it looks as if my nails have already grown out a lot from the polish. I had to file a lot of sticky edges off when I got home. Hopefully they'll last a while, bur I'm really displeased with my experience. On the plus side, everyone was very nice. On the down side, it seemed that they didn't have very good hygienic rules and the file she used on me we obviously used.
