I used to come here until I realize the quality was horrible. I tried to give them a chance but I went in to get my nails redone before work. For start the girl didn't know what she was doing so it took her an hour to take my nails off. Went to get them done the next day and the girl told me to come back in an hour...I came back and it took her another hour to come do my nails then while doing them she stopped and started to have a conversation with someone else. 3 hours total and I spent $60. My nails look like shit and are bumpy aaand on top of it it's been 2 days and one of my nails have already broken. read more

I came in for both a massage and a manicure and have very mixed feelings about this place. Massage was fantastic. Masseuse was very friendly and knew right away how to work out all the knots in my back. If I lived in Orlando I would totally come back weekly! The manicure however, was pretty lackluster. Towels and instruments looked a bit unclean and an hour after I left the clear top coat started pulling away from the uneven color and bubbles started popping up everywhere. I've been going to Nails by Mercedes for around two years now. The last couple times I've received a gel manicure, I have NOT been happy with the outcome. I thought it was just a new esthetician but each time I am disappointed. I received this manicure earlier today and it looks as if my nails have already been growing out for a week. I understand with gel it's more difficult and you do not want it right up against the cuticle but, this is a bit of a stretch. At least I do not have bubbles in the paint this time. First time visitor to this spa, attempting to get a pedicure.Walked in and was told to sit in one of the pedi chairs which was filled with water, told the wait would be 15-20 minutes before someone would work on me. After waiting 45 minutes and nobody spoke to me I started to put my socks and shoes on, it took me several minutes to put them on. Still, no one spoke to me. I walked out the door, no one spoke to me. Obviously customer service and getting new customers is a low priority at this salon. They are probably making all the millions of dollars they need, so they certainly don't need me or you. read more

I took my best friend with me and we could only get an appointment at 4 PM - No worries, I thought. We walked in and didn't have to wait longer than two minutes for them to get us in pedicure chairs (we both got pedicures). Yay! But, then things started to go downhill. The technician doing the lady's feet next to me was talking SUPER LOUD and she kept pausing to chat more which wouldn't have bothered me except we waited for about 20-ish minutes for anyone to do our pedicures and there didn't seem to be a sense of urgency to take care of us. My friend got the Signature Pedicure and said her foot massage was the best she's ever had, so that was a definite plus. I got the technician who was working on the lady next to me and despite taking her time with the other lady, I felt like she rushed through my whole service. I got the paraffin wax treatment and I'm pretty sure I only had it on my feet for about 45 seconds before she took it off which was kind of a bummer as it does cost extra. They also were playing Kill Bill on Netflix the whole time which was kind of gruesome. Idk, I just expected like... Chick flicks or something? Not blood and gore while I'm trying to relax. My French chipped faster than any I've gotten before so overall, I'm just not impressed. Despite living down the street, I probably will not be back. Stopped by after a cruise while walking around College Park. The nail salon is clean and the prices are reasonable. They give you a full glass of wine when you sit down. However, the manicure I got wasn't great. The nails were uneven and the gel peeled off on one nail within 3 days. I had clipped my nails a bit, but Mercede cut it until it kind of hurt. The coating was also sloppy. She saw an old client of hers and proceeded to rush through my manicure (the coating probably took 4 minutes - including the light part - and she just applied 2 coats in an extremely distracted manner). I feel bad about giving this review because I think Mercede was just hungry (she snuck off during my manicure to eat for 10 minutes), leaving me sitting there clueless. But at the same time, you get what you pay for. The gel was peeling off (or had already peeled off) of all of my nails 1.75 weeks later. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! The staff drinks and serve their clients drinks while the staff is overbearing and caddy about the color you choose. They never have seasonal colors and are way overpriced. - She tried to charge a client $20 for repairing 1 NAIL!?!? The customer of course questioned this and the bad attitude owner immediately folded and accepted $10 instead. The wait times are very long and unless you can make eye contact with one of the techs, they act like they don't hear you. Then the acrylic nails pop off 2 days after being done. Rushed, Ignored & Uneven Nails. I'm new to the area & found this place on Yelp, so I thought I'd try it out. I was seated for my pedicure as soon as I walked in. There was a lot of commotion, because apparently the firm next door tows people's cars all day long if they Park in their spot. Okay, whatever... My "nail technician" was lazy as hell & rushed my pedicure. She cut my big toe nails SO unevenly. & if you need the bottom of your feet "revitalized" prepare for an up charge. Apparently, the "foot grater" (for lack of the proper name) isn't included in the $20 package like a normal place. You have to pay more for it. They only use the purple pumice stone on the bottom of your feet. & they BARELY even use that. She literally swiped it across my foot a fee times & put it down... Then she put the "hot towels" on my feet, & they were COLD as hell. I actually jumped in my chair at how cold they were. She didn't even go get another set. Just took them off & moved on. Smh. While I was sitting to dry, I messed up the inner side of my big toe (my fault, I get it) I apologized, & asked the receptionist if someone could fix it for me. She said she was going to go get someone to fix it, Okay cool... I LITERALLY sat there for 15 MINUTES, watching her walk up & down right past me. After 15 minutes, I said "excuse me, is anyone gonna fix my toe?" She said "Oh my gosh, I completely forgot why you were sitting there! I'm gonna go get her right now!".... I almost threw my chair at her. The girl came, rushed & fixed my toe, with a SLIGHT attitude... Not too much attitude, but just a little. read more

We both got a a pedicure for $30 that included the hot towels and a massage. Reasonably priced for what we got. It's clean and surprisingly big inside AND they offered us WINE! They have tons of services, facials, waxing, manicures, pedicures, massages - one stop beauty shop! Easy to find, and a great location in the middle of college park. I don't like to share LOL but I feel if you are in the downtown Orlando, Edgewater, Thorton Park area...this is the place to go...actually, its worth the drive. They've expanded as well so I can only imagine business will just get better. Every time I've gone (which is at least every 2 weeks), I leave completely satisfied and the level of skill never ceases to amaze me. I am probably to the level of crazy on how picky I am with my nails and I am not having to do any clean up or fixing when I get home. I have gotten my nails done here multiple times in the past, but after my visit on Wednesday, I will never do business with Nails by Mercede ever again. In all of the sets of nails I have had in my life, never have I been as unhappy, or had such a bad experience, as I had with Nina. She didn't confirm with me what color I wanted (white), assumed I wanted the pink I previously had on, even though they don't have a shade that matched the color. I had to tell her more than once that not only did the colors she was using not even match, but it's not the color I wanted (again asked for white nails). It got so bad I had to ask if there was anyone else who could do my nails. At this point I was ready to walk out of there with all the acrylic halfway drilled off my hands. By then the owner had to come over and explain to her what to do. Additionally, I had to ask her cut my nails shorter, to fix my broken nail, and guide her through how to fix it. My nail length on one hand is also NOTICEABLY shorter than the other hand. My right thumb nail is reminiscent of Nemo's underdeveloped small fin, in comparison to the length on the left thumb nail. The worst part of it all is not once did anyone apologize to me for the whole ordeal. Both Nina and the owner stood by as I checked out. Neither of them asked if everything turned out ok or issued an apology for my experience. Also, as the cherry on top, by Saturday I already had nails that were lifting. 3 days after this whole experience and I already had to spend money at another nail salon. read more

Best nail salon I've ever been to! I came down from NYC to go to Gasparilla and wanted pirate themed nails. My expectations were definitely exceeded :) Very reasonable manicure/pedicure with all the bells and whistles and a detailed and perfect job. Love this place! I go here for gel manicures, and they never disappoint. Usually I can get three to three and a half weeks out of a manicure with no chipping (nail growth is the only issue, but of course that happens). As for their space, it's bright and clean. They do take walk-ins, but I prefer to make appointments to save myself time. read more

Wow I can't believe a business would tell a potential customer or any customer that they can't service them because they are closing in 30 min. Was told to come back tomorrow but I told them no thanks, that I would never be back. So rather than service a customer and get a nice tip because you were close to closing you turn them away. Awesome job by Lan! She has such an amazing personality and spirit. She likes to talk, have a good time at work, she is so open and oh yeah, she is also great with nails! Haha! She did my mani, changed the polish on my toes to match, and my eyebrows. And all in about 1.5 hrs. I did call ahead and made an appointment because I wanted to make sure I got someone that did nail design. Not all of the ladies do nail design, but they always accommodate.
