I was into gel polish and right before Easter 2014 I had a nail malfunction and it was a Saturday at 5pm. I called around since I wanted to just pop in some where and get my nail fixed. So I call Sasha and she said she was finishing up but I could come in right away and she would help me out! She did and other than the brief time I moved out of state, I have been going to Sasha. I will warn you though... If you go to Sasha, you will never want anyone else doing your nails. I was in pure hell the 8 months I was in Portland because I could not find anyone like her there. Also, I had to get used to booking in advance since Sasha is so awesome she is really busy. Which is a good thing because you know she is that good that everyone wants to go to her! So I have standing appointments and love it now. I know that my nails will always be perfection and I don't have to think about it. I just show up and she does her thing! One more piece of advise... I've been coming to Sasha for close to 3 years now. She introduced me to hard gels and I will NEVER go back to acrylics. Her technique is incomparable to anyone's I've seen before. She studies her art well and you can tell her Work is amazing just by looking at her nails (masterpieces of art that they are) that she does herself. She books out pretty far in advance which alone should tell you that she's highly sought out. Once you get on her books though, you stay on. What I love the most is that I only have to return every 3-4 weeks. I've had times that I had to cancel my appointment(due to unforeseen emergencies) and went 7 weeks without seeing her and was still receiving compliments as if I had just got them done. I returned to her with every single nail in tact. She's just THAT good. Her work is amazing and she's worth every penny. And speaking of pennies, her prices are on point! I have NEVER walked out of her salon disappointed and I have NEVER not gotten compliments. (I've attached a photo of some of my most recent nails. Sasha is an excellent manicurist. She is meticulous, gentle and does a great job using the hard gel. I was always pleased with the results. Why not a 5 star rating? Sasha doesn't have enough respect for her clients to show up on time. I'm not talking about running a little behind here. My first appointment was for 10 am, her first appointment of the day. She texted me at 9:55 to say she was running late. Showing up at 10:25 she stated that she "just couldn't get started" that day. Ok things happen. The next appointment she showed up 15 minutes late. No apology. The third appointment was for 4:15. She arbitrarily changed it to 4:45 (with a few days notice via email) without checking with me first. Of course I didn't get into the chair until 5:15 which caused me to be late for a dinner reservation. The last straw was waiting for 20 minutes for the first appointment of the day. No Sasha so I left. I'm guessing that day she was on time for her 11:00 for the first time ever. The good news is that I found a new (to me) salon, Love Nails and tried the SNS dipping system for the first time. It's terrific. No curing via UV or LED and the result looks as nice as gel. read more

I would have to say that I havent ever been that picky about getting my nails done. I have been loyal to an establishment once I get in there and see what the talent available is there. In san diego I was with the same salon for 8 years but in that 8 years I did find the one person I truly liked having my nails done by so I followed her to her own shop making our time together much longer. So in saying that, I havent been in Vegas long enough to setup more than an establishment loyalty. Then I met Sasha. I had been going to a salon here for a while but I guess I was somewhat tired of feeling like a number and getting frustrated with intermittent shotty nails that would last a month one time and then fall off 2 days after getting them done other times. I found Sasha through yelp and others working in the Icon Salon and after seeing her work and verbally hearing her praises I decided to get an appointment and try her on for size. Sasha is very talented when it comes to nails. She uses the gels (which I hadnt ever done before and was seriously skeptical of because I am seemingly hard on my nails). She does 3D artwork and shes open to new designs and suggestions. She prefers her clients to be somewhat knowledgeable of what they are asking for from her as an artist. She doesnt use the dremel looking sander to prep the nail for fills, rather she uses just a nail file. This is beneficial to your nails as it doesnt dig down into the bed of the nail and cause the nails to be so thin and brittle. This is a huge advantage for me in that I have been wearing nails since I was about 20. I highly recommend Sasha as she is easy to get along with and you will be getting quality nails by choosing her as your "Master Nail Specialist" (yep, made that one up!). read more
