I haven't had my nails done in quite some time as I was looking for a new nail shop. I found Nails Please and noticed the great reviews they had and one of the nail technicians Helen I was already following on social media so I decided to book my appointment with her and try them out. I came on a weeknight before Thanksgiving and they were fairly busy, the wait was a little long but in the end was worth it. The interior is cute and clean, I love the few photo ops they have on the walls. What I really like is that they have a table with small bottled waters and light snacks for the customers, this is a very nice touch. Helen was my nail technician, she's very nice and professional. I was getting a brand new acrylic full set. I showed her a design that I saw posted, she took one look and went straight to work. My nails came out amazing, better and more detailed than I'd expected. The length is perfect, the attention to detail, the design. I couldn't have asked for anything better. This just might be my new nail salon and I will keep going back to Helen. read more

I recently started coming to this salon after it came under new ownership. I followed Tammy from another salon because she always does an amazing job, and I'm so glad I did! Tammy and Kathy are both incredibly talented, welcoming, and create such a fun, relaxing atmosphere. Every visit is a great experience, and my nails always turn out beautiful. I normally don't leave reviews, but I was really disappointed with my experience here yesterday. I was charged $90 for a pedicure, and the service did not match the price at all. The design I asked for was not done correctly, and instead of simply being honest if they couldn't do it, I was passed around between different nail techs while sitting there longer and longer. I even told them it was okay if they couldn't do the design. What upset me the most was the attitude from the woman identified as the manager. My husband made a comment about staying until the service was done correctly, and she immediately became defensive and rude, saying things like "why do you come here and make a big deal, everyone is trying to help you." I was calm the entire time and simply wanted my nails fixed or clear communication. The 3d flower was removed for the 3rd time I left with basic French toes definitely not worth $90. In addition I understand the type and product you however that was not my request. They kept passing me off to other techs!! I ended up walking out extremely upset, especially after still being expected to pay the full $90 even though the service was unfinished and unsatisfactory. I had an appointment scheduled with Nikki at 1:30. When I arrived, she informed me she was going home sick and that someone else would be doing my nails. I understand that things come up and I let her know I hoped she felt better. My friend who also had an appointment that day was contacted and rescheduled, while I was not given the same option or notified in advance. Ann completed my service. Unfortunately, the nails were uneven, too short, and bumpy. Throughout the appointment, I had to point out concerns with nearly every nail. In attempting to correct the shape, they were repeatedly filed down and became shorter than I wanted. When I eventually asked to have them removed, Ann was not friendly and responded rudely. Another technician redid my nails, and while the final result was OK, the entire process took far longer than expected. My 1:30 appointment did not conclude until 4:00 PM. Additionally, my nail beds are still very sore from the excessive drilling and filing. As I was leaving, I saw Nikki return to the salon carrying several shopping bags, which was confusing given that I was told she had gone home sick. read more

I've been coming to Nails Please for years, and Michelle has done my nails multiple times over that time. She is truly the best! Not only does she always remember me, but she remembers details about my life and genuinely asks how I'm doing every time I come in. I'm searching for my new go to nail establishment in Fremont area. I have a place I like since it is walking distance and they give great massages. However I'm looking for a place that can check all my boxes of what I'm looking for (close distance, great massages, variety of pedicure services, and get my shape correctly). The reason why I'm searching for a new place is because it seems my big toe nails always crack on the corners even with gel polish. When my current place tries to fix the uneven shape from the cracked broken toenail, it always looks thick and uneven. I tried out Nail Please for pre cruise vacation pedicure based on other Yelp reviews. My first time here and I can't wait to return and try out other pedicure services and manicures. Booking an appointment was easy and I was able to get my preferred date and time needed for my schedule. I booked for the Coconut Milk Pedicure because it included paraffin wax treatment and a 15 minute massage. The pedicure service was great. After she got done with filing, I could immediately see that my square shape was correct. I was nervous when it came time for the acrylic but she was able to match it well the shape and it look natural. My only disappoint was the massage. Although it was 15 mins, she was moving so fast it didn't really feel like a massage, more like a rub. More time was spent on my calves then feet but that may be able to be switched if requested. Even with the feet, it was a rub not a massage. Wasn't too relaxing at all. I am willing to give the place another shot though because it is a great location! read more

I've been going to Kathy for over 10 years to get my nails done, and I can confidently say she's the best nail tech I've ever had...EVER! Her attention to detail, consistency, and quality of work are unmatched. I can go up to six weeks without a fill, and my nails never lift, peel, or chip. Every design she's created has stayed beautiful until my next appointment, which says everything about the quality of her work. Not only is Kathy incredibly creative, but she's also professional, reliable, and truly cares about her clients. I've had my nails done by Tammy and Kelly as well and they are also both amazing! I wanted to try this shop and decided to have my old set removed and a brand new set done. My nails looked great however they started lifting at 13 days old. I do not do anything extra strenuous, I wash dishes with gloves and I got them short so there shouldn't have been any mishaps with broken nails. I've had gel x nails in the past and they've never lifted or came off after such a short amount of time, as a matter of fact I chose Gel x because of the durability I have experienced while having them. They usually last close to 4 weeks. It's very unfortunate because the flowers were so cute and staff was very nice but the nails simply didn't last. :( read more

I love this place! A friend and I lucked up on it after getting our eyebrows done around the corner. Its now our go to meeting spot for our monthly mani /pedi hook up. I drive from Oakland to come here - that should tell you something. I love that they have good food near by and a Starbucks in walking distance to grab a snack while you wait or if you want to sip a nice warm beverage while you undergo your nail transformation. I've had three different people do my feet and I've been happy everytime. I love the variety of pedi experiences they have to choose from. The owner, Danny, stopped by to chat with us one day. This was my spot but sadly i will never come again . They had a new tech do my nails and i left with cuts on my fingers and unsatisfied with my nails . Instead of having someone else more experienced take over , a bunch nail techs crowded around me and kept telling me how nice they were while instructing the new tech . When i would ask questions he wouldn't even respond to me and just yelled out for someone else and another person would talk . It ended up being an awkward and uncomfortable experience. All they offered was 10 dollars off . I disliked them so much that i removed them after a few days . read more

The work is very mid. I've never had a super terrible experience, but today was just ridiculous. The nails I got are ok, but I feel extremely taken advantage of. I requested a FEW diamonds. He ended up doing his own thing, without informing me that not only is the French tip an extra $15, but the teeny tiny "diamonds" (that cost $5 on Amazon) added $60 to my total, bringing it up to $150. When I questioned this, they seem to be making up the prices on the spot. I will never, ever be returning to this place which is sad considering how many times I've come over the years. We all know that nail prices have gotten out of control over the past few years but I feel borderline scammed for what I left with today. Bottom line, this place is a classic chop shop. Too many other good options in Fremont that won't rip you off. Hope the $150 was worth it- you won't get another dollar out of me. Very short term thinking as a business owner. read more

Edit: 518/25- Update: I received a call from my bank regarding my dispute, and was told the business claimed I returned to the store but did not mention the allergic reaction when having my nails removed. This is untrue. I clearly explained the situation at the time, and the manager apologized, stating that the staff were new and inexperienced. I have a full audio recording of the conversation. If the manager continues to misrepresent what happened, I'm prepared to make this recording public. I'm honestly shocked by the false and misleading claims in the owner's response. For full clarity: I never spoke to the person who wrote this, so it's extremely concerning that they're making assumptions and presenting false information as fact. Pricing was NEVER discussed or agreed on before my nails were done. Pricing was only told after my nails were finished. I got my nails done on May 7th and told the nail tech they were for EDC, which was happening May 16-18. She even joked that she wished she could go but couldn't because of work -- so she absolutely knew what and when the event was. I had them removed on May 15th, just a few hours before my flight. The only reason I waited was because of work. I was in town the entire time, dealing with intense burning and pain. What "vacation" are you referring to? That is completely false and misleading. I disputed the charge the very next day, not after removal, as they falsely claim. I've had Gel-X many times before, and what I experienced was not normal. The burning under the UV lamp was a 10/10 pain -- sharp, intense, and completely out of the ordinary. When I returned, the manager apologized, acknowledged that the tech had flooded my nails with too much gel, and said some workers were still new. She even asked me to remove my review, saying, "As Vietnamese people, we should support each other." As for the price gouging, I still stand by what I said. My friend was charged $80 for a basic clear set that wasn't what he asked for. The manager herself looked at the photo, agreed the price didn't make sense, and offered for him to come back and get it redone. It's one thing to defend your business -- it's another to completely lie and try to discredit your customer. As a fellow business owner, I find this incredibly unprofessional. I stand by my experience and hope others take this into account before booking here. read more

I wish I can give my experience a 5 star but here is my perspective of how my appt went. Typically I come here for my Gel X set and I appreciate their process because they are super friendly and professional. I called to make an appt and they were able to accommodate 3 pedicures that same day. We got there and the staff is really nice. We sat in our pedicure chairs and I asked the person who was completing my service, what he would recommend for my dad. My dad needed a foot scrub and no polish. Their standard classic pedicure is $35 and that doesn't include any scrubs so he suggested the $40 mint pedicure. He did share that if we wanted to do a paraffin wrap, that it would be $10 additional to the pedicure treatment. We didn't opt in because we chose the $40 that included a scrub. Once the service was done, we were really confused because they didn't scrub my dad's feet. The manager comes over and explains that the scrub is for the legs along with lotion and oil. It was disheartening to hear that the misconception from what was shared, wasn't what we wanted. She shared that we can add on the additional foot scrub but I told her that we would've done the classic pedicure with the add on if we were told this from the beginning. All in all, we didn't let our experience sway from tipping or continuing the conversation with the manager because they did the pedicure and it was nice. I did recommend to have a service for a demographic that prefer may not need polish with their pedicures but it sounds like most of their customer base requests polish. It is what it is but I still like this place and the staff - will probably go here for my Gel X sets only though. Hope this helps! read more

I was looking for someone who could do builder gel nails, and thankfully, this place offered that service. I called ahead before my visit and came in on a Saturday when the salon was quite busy. Upon entering, it felt like a factory operation--quick in and out. I was uncertain about the quality of the service, but I waited a bit until someone was available to assist me. I was assigned to Tai. Unfortunately, my hand slipped while he was using the drill. Thankfully, there wasn't any break in the skin; it just stung a bit. Tai reassured me that I was okay and apologized for the incident. I was a bit hesitant about having my nails done by him because he filed my nails as if he were playing the violin, which made me nervous that he might accidentally file my skin! I contacted the salon immediately, and the owner was trying to help me... however, I understand asking whether I was on antibiotics is a standard question, but even after I explained that I wasn't on any medication and sent a photo clearly showing a skin tear, I felt the focus was more on finding another explanation than acknowledging the injury. I followed every aftercare instruction exactly as advised, applying ointment every three hours and avoiding hot water for the next 36 hours. When my eyelid remained swollen and painful, I reached out again and asked if they could refund my eyebrow service. Instead, I was told : " I'm sorry it still is in bad condition but it looks like you didn't use any ointment like I suggested" As someone who cares about my skin and previously worked in the aesthetics industry, that assumption was extremely disappointing because I had followed their instructions carefully. I understand that accidents can happen during waxing. What disappointed me was how that was handled afterward. As a long-time customer, I expected more professionalism and accountability.

I decided to try out a new nail salon recently and it's safe to say I won't be returning. My manicurist was in a rush, resulting in excessive cuticle cutting that led to bleeding. When I pointed it out, she decided to paint over and around the blood without bothering to clean it. It was not only surprising, but also seemed highly unsanitary. She persistently urged to apply a random ointment directly on the blood, resulting in stinging and pain. Despite expressing the pain I felt and the desire to wash it off, she insisted on leaving it. What shocked me even more was that she wanted to take a picture of my nails, blood and all, for her Instagram! Overall, a truly unpleasant and unprofessional experience. I went in for a gel x nail appointment with Nikki! My reference photo was a bit complicated, so I was worried it would be too difficult. However, she did perfectly! They were exactly what I wanted !! The appointment itself was pretty fast. I was seated right away and was done in an hour, despite all the accents. She was really sweet and super understanding even though I can in a bit late. I was able to call in and set an appointment day of. She even took her time for her lunch break :( (She ate before though, thank god.) Time to find a new nail salon!! Don't bother making an appointment as they will make you wait regardless if you have an appointment or not! Today I waited one hour for a book appointment! This business needs to not book appointments if they are not available!!! I had to wait because I needed to have the awful gel taken off that they put on and chipped immediately! I know they are popular but I'm going to have to find a new nail salon! It's to bad that the owner only cares about over booking appointments and not customer service! I feel bad for the employees as they are over worked and get the brunt of the customer's frustration. read more

I have been seeing Nikki since 2018. She is so kind, quick but thorough and very good at what she does. The ladies there are all super nice and very attentive. They always offer refreshments too. I have never not felt safe here and I cannot expect to hold them responsible for bad customers that come into the nail shop to get a service. I only say this as I came in at the tail end of an altercation that had nothing to do with the nail shop and they shouldn't receive a bad review for it. Please go see Nikki and the girlies! Nails Please Nail Saloon was an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process. I'm not usually a design girly but here I feel like I can trust Kate and Nikki to try something different that maybe I don't have a specific vision for. I'm not one for super long nails either but the short almond suits my nail beds really well and because of how the staff does my nails, I feel like it isn't bothersome until I need to get a new set. The aesthetic of the salon is super clean and bright, making it feel relaxing and luxurious at the same time. I also feel like the price is pretty reasonable compared to what I've heard other salons charging. Since I started going here I have not regretted it and definitely recommend.

I immediately told her it hurt, mentioned that I was bleeding, and even physically pulled my hand away because the area was so sensitive. At first, there was very little response or concern shown. No antiseptic, no bandage, no suggestion of how to care for the wound afterward. I eventually had to ask for antibacterial cream myself before anything was done. The service then continued as if nothing had happened. To her credit, she later apologized and explained that she was trying to make my nails look neat.
