I absolutely love it here... No matter where I live in the Bay Area I will take the trip to come. I go see Tao for my nails and I like very elaborate designs and it's gotten to the point to where I trust her enough to let her freestyle my nails and my mind is always blown... I highly recommend this place but keep in mind ladies you get what you pay for and nail maintenance is a luxury not a necessity but if you want quality work this is the place for you!!! read more

Lily did nanoblading/ombré brows for me and I am ecstatic with the results! She's very careful with the mapping, and really takes her time to make them perfect. I'm blue-eyed with ash blonde hair and very fair skinned, and she gave me the most natural looking brows that aren't too dark. This makes a huge difference in my makeup routine, and my new brows frame my eyes perfectly! It's one of the best things I've ever done to enhance my appearance! I always enjoy my time here! Lily is so talented and is able to do any design- I'm particular about the shape of my nails and she does the square perfect and sharp every time. All of the gel pedicures I have gotten have been very good- Thao and Tina are very gentle but thorough. They serve mimosas with your service too! Everyone is very kind & professional. Just moved to the city and needed to find a good nail shop and I'm not disappointed! It's definitely family owned which I love to support. They give complimentary mimosas which was cool! I got my toes and nails done at the same time which I love cause time is everything. My toes lady did an amazing job. She was detailed and took her time making sure everything was good. I had a crack in my toe and she fixed it. My nail lady was the same. Very detailed and good pace. I got dip with tip and her shape and paint job was perfect. Price is average. Very accommodating and nice people. I enjoy their hot tea and mango mimosa. I love getting my pedicures done here. Whenever I make my husband go with me, and I take longer to finish, I appreciate how the ladies time each other so that my husband and I finish at the same time. They say cash only but they accept card too. I made an appointment for gel mani with design and gel pedi no design. In total (tip not included) it was $90. For basic nails I feel like this was an expensive service, however you are paying at a mom and pop shop. The shop is cute and welcoming. Standard pedicure that won't break the bank. Approximately 35 minutes for the $28 regular pedicure. The water was lukewarm and the scrubbing of the foot was short. My heels really needed a better scrub. The mail shaping and polish were good. There's several colors to pick from. They use a top coat and base coat. They are practicing rigorous COVID safety which includes plexiglass between customers and staff, including rolling plexiglass screens for pedicure clients. There's 5 ladies working here today so they are well-staffed. My wait time was 5 minutes: Now what everyone wants to know is what about the massage?! The massage was 60-90 seconds per foot, but it felt good. I wish it had lasted longer. Now there was someone already getting a pedicure when I was here and her pedicure is still going even though mine is done. I wish I were sitting in that chair, but she probably paid for a better package. All in all, as a busy mom I will come back for quick pedicures. read more

Lilly is absolutely amazing and so thoughtful of you. I love the fact that she tries the color on me to see if I actually really like the color first so this way I'm not having my nails done and I have to live with it for three weeks and I absolutely hate the color she rocks that stuff she's just so kind and sweet, and the man who works the counter I'm not quite sure what his name is very, very, very pleasant and charming. You don't find that too often in a nail salon these days you're just a number to them at nail you're not your person. read more

The Nail Garden is a great place to relax, have a refreshing drink, and enjoy the multiple services they offer. When my husband and I go, we enjoy getting the mani/pedi. First, you're greeted by the kindest of gentleman, Leiu. He has an amazing memory and will remember you and your services. Then, you may be greeted by one of the nail technicians. All of the ladies are kind, and talented. They're always making suggestions based on what's new and exciting, but will absolutely respect your wishes. It feels very genuine, and that's what I feel is most important. You can sit and have a drink and a massage while they tend to your fingers and toes. They do an amazing job! I'm so happy to have found this place. In my experience it seems like the price you pay is a little under the other salons in the area for the quality of product and time spent in the chair. I couldn't be more satisfied with not only the service but final results with my acrylic overlay. I went in with destroyed nails and lily brought them back to life! I was super particular about the length,shape and thickness of my nails as I rarely had any. Lily ensured that they wouldn't be and I took a chance which I am happy I did. I'm all 'bout supporting small businesses and trying new places, but I sure learned my lesson and realized today that you should really stick to places that you have had good experiences, in the past. Per Yelp, I found a decent place that had an overall 4 star rating. I was able to schedule an apt, so that's how I found The Nails Garden. When I walked in, I didn't receive that warm welcome - but I didn't let that bother me much. Also the salon itself was dark, quiet with no music or tv on and didn't have any other customers but myself. I sat down and my nail gal didn't introduce myself, she just directed me to pic a color. I showed her what I wanted on Pinterest and then she started doing her thing. I had to ask her a couple times to file my nails shorter and by the 3rd time of asking I just gave up. I also had to ask her to go over my nails a couple more times because the color on my nail bed was really light. I wish my nails were filed shorter and more square like I had asked but it is what it is. At the end of the day, my nails don't look like the Pinterest picture. I think my nail gal isn't a "master nail tech" that does nail designs so that's my bad I didn't check in with her before. But I also feel that if you have a customer that is asking for a service that you can't provide - then that should be known to the customer that you can't do it. Also, I didn't really see much care in protecting against COVID. I only saw hand sanitizer at each station. But they didn't ask me to wash my hands upon walking in, and usually at other salons they have a clear, plastic barrier on the gel heating lamps where you place your hands, this one didn't have that. 3 stars, at most for the overall service that I received today. My nails aren't thaaaat bad, but the filing isn't square, the lines on my french manicure aren't even on the edges and my nails are not what I showed her as far as what I wanted from the Pinterest picture (which wasn't something crazy). read more

I called in advance to see if they had any openings for the day of and they did in a little over an hour later on a Wednesday afternoon - it was great! I walked in, signed in, and they immediately accommodated me by taking me to my pedicure first. Julie was helping me and she did great, as well as, the amazing dip powder manicure! I have had dip powder nails before and I always felt that they layered it on super thick, but she did amazingly - just enough to reinforce and strengthen my nails! I was there for about two hours and it felt like only an hour because I was entranced in the Youtube videos they had playing on the TV. She took her time shaping the nails which I appreciated. The salon is really pretty and clean, and had welcoming staff. They have a lot of gem options and airbrush machine, which I found good to know because I had wanted an airbrush design previously but didn't know of a salon that was able to do that. read more

On the phone I had asked her the price and had confirmed it before she started. When she was done with the treatment, and I went to pay for my har oil treatment plus hair wash and blowout.. she had doubled the price and said it's because she included a hard water treatment serum when washing my hair. She never asked me, nor did she suggest it. She did it on her own and expected me to pay double the amount that was agreed upon. No wonder her salon is always empty.

I contacted the salon immediately, and the owner was trying to help me... however, I understand asking whether I was on antibiotics is a standard question, but even after I explained that I wasn't on any medication and sent a photo clearly showing a skin tear, I felt the focus was more on finding another explanation than acknowledging the injury. I followed every aftercare instruction exactly as advised, applying ointment every three hours and avoiding hot water for the next 36 hours. When my eyelid remained swollen and painful, I reached out again and asked if they could refund my eyebrow service. Instead, I was told : " I'm sorry it still is in bad condition but it looks like you didn't use any ointment like I suggested" As someone who cares about my skin and previously worked in the aesthetics industry, that assumption was extremely disappointing because I had followed their instructions carefully. I understand that accidents can happen during waxing. What disappointed me was how that was handled afterward. As a long-time customer, I expected more professionalism and accountability.

did walk-in pretty busy so i waited 15mins. I showed different nail looks and she just told to do ombre, i said sure, so that's on me since i agree rather than what i truly wanted. she then told me she will do design, I asked is it same price? ($65) she just give me a smile with both eyes close open so i assume it is, but later when i paid, she told me $80, i didn't know that she wasn't being clear was not ready for that but whatever now still have to pay. Then i got my eyebrow was and lip, both was so terrible, still look the same only little hair was taken out (from cathy) she also put so much oil that went to my nostril, she did not took her time to make my eyebrow look better with shape like somewhere else i get from, for $12 even cheaper and get better. Uhg they need more practice on that. she was also very quite lazy or something she trying to skip toes from cleaning the nails after doing it on big toe nail, oh gawd, please always check it for yourself they might not be doing what they supposed to do! she also don't even know her store where she work from when i did the venmo, different name but exact the same number, i ask it says paid to nailgarden she said "oh no it not" she then turn around and ask the leader or manager and said "oh thats my sister, its ok that name" i was totally got nervous on that thought i paid the wrong person. over all, not coming back. read more

My wife tried this place today and the owner was very rude. She tried telling her how she wanted to do her nails. We thought we were the customers and apparently we were not. She paid for a service that did not meet any standard at all. The level of customer service was apparently non existent! She asked for a design on her toe nail and she received a sticker painted over with clear coat. My wife explained what she wanted on her hands and feet prior to execution. The owner said that if she wanted that way she should go to nail school and do it herself??She was shocked! For a minute there, I thought she was the one providing the services and not us. There was plenty of other customers around to confirm this. The side of her nail was missing glitter. BEWARE OF THE OWNER, very rude and obnoxious and clearly does not know how to do nails or even provide good customer service.My grand-daughter paints nails better than this and she is only 2! The owner does not listen to the customer at all on what they want and need. This was the first and last time she will ever go there again. Please beware as we are letting anyone know what their level of service is prior to going there if it is your first time. If you love how your nails are done .....YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!l If I could give them a negative number I would. This place does not deserve 1 star. read more

I have been to this place about 3 years ago and let me tell you have things changed! The whole place is so much more beautiful now and the service is amazing! I had a really great experience here. Me and my two sisters got acrylic nails done and it only took two hours in total. The service there was amazing and the people took time and care while doing our nails. Tiffany was the best. She helped us choose our colors and shapes. Unfortunately, one of the butterfly wings broke after I got home, but Chloe was able to schedule a free fix after I contacted her. The salon accepts Venmo, Zelle, and PayPal as payment methods. The sign says they are open at 10am, so I'm confused, like maybe I'm at the wrong place or?? I call, a girl apologizes saying someone should be there shortly. Ok, not a huge deal. I thought I would be getting my nails done by Janice, since that's who I chose in my appt. request, but Yumi was the one who opened up the shop and ended up doing my nails. She was really sweet and easy to talk to. For my nails, I wanted the design from the photo, but without the accent nail. I wasn't completely satisfied with my nails bc I feel like it wasn't as precise as in my inspo photo, but it was decent enough. When I went to pay she told me my total was $89, which caught me off guard bc according to our messages, I was quoted $70-$75, which when I told her, she said "I said it would be AROUND $70-$75." Why give a price range and not honor it? $14 is a big difference. Anyway, I'm not one to cause a scene so I paid, tipped, and left feeling like I was taken advantage of. 5 days after getting my nails done, the gel has already started lifting/ peeling. I'm even more disappointed and probably would not come back.

I specifically told the nail technician to be gentle and to only trim it, not remove it. Despite this, the toenail was ripped off completely. I am in significant pain and it will now take several months for the nail to grow back. The experience did not stop there. My cuticles were also filed aggressively, even after I repeatedly asked for it to stop. At one point, I felt my concerns were not being taken seriously because she laughed at me. I left in discomfort that required them to apply Vaseline before I left due to irritation. I will not be posting a photo as the injury is graphic. This was a genuinely upsetting experience and I would not want anyone else to go through something similar. I would strongly recommend others consider going elsewhere. RESPONSE TO BUSINESS OWNER - Yes, $5.50 was taken off my bill. However, that does not come close to addressing what happened. I know my own toenails, and I clearly explained multiple times that one nail was loose and needed to be trimmed carefully. Despite that, the technician did not listen and ended up ripping the toenail off entirely. It was still attached and could have been handled gently, but it was not. At this point, my priority is not to go back and forth but to share my experience honestly so others are aware before booking an appointment. I asked for pink-red gradient nails and the color selection was STRESSFUL because the manicurist kept audibly sighing every time I wanted to look at a different option. she would grab one color at a time and I'd say "do you have an option that's more pink?" or something and she acted like I was ruining her day by making her go back to where she stored her nail polish. You should just grab several pinks for me to choose from instead of running back and forth... The manicurist did NO cuticle care, didn't soak my hands in water, she used an abrasive drill on my nails and ground them thin. I told her that that she was hurting me and she just ignored me. she also was literally yanking my fingers to paint them, and bc she had ground my nail beds so thin, applying the polish literally stung. I ended up with nails that were NOT a pink-red gradient (they looked bruised) and my pedicure looked patchy. The whole service was $105. Typically when I pay that much for nails, the salon goes all out with hospitality, offering water/tea, rubbing my hands with lotion, etc. but this time, I did not even get the nails I asked for. I don't know how the other reviews are so good; I will never go to them again.
