I came here because they offer gel builder, which surprisingly not many salons in Fremont do. I had read great reviews about Lily and Kim, so I tried booking an appointment online with either of them. Unfortunately, the system didn't let me choose a specific technician--it only allowed "any available." To ensure I'd get Lily, I called the salon and booked directly with her. When I arrived, the salon was nearly empty--only one other customer--which, in hindsight, should have been a red flag. There were even flies flying around the middle of the shop, which felt unhygienic. Lily greeted me and asked me to pick a gel builder color. I asked where the options were, and she pointed to a small plaque on her table with only pastel shades. I asked if there were more options, and she mumbled that those were just the "base" colors and I could choose any regular gel color to go on top. I wasn't interested in layering too much product, so I chose a pastel purple to keep it simple. She asked if I wanted cuticle care, and I said yes. Then came the upsell--basic manicure for $25 or deluxe for $32, with the latter including a 5-minute massage and paraffin wax. Since my hands were quite dry, I opted for the $32 upgrade and was genuinely looking forward to the massage. The application process was tedious. She painted one nail at a time and had me cure it under the UV light after each nail. Doing this ten times felt like excessive UV exposure, and no gloves or sunscreen were offered as protection. Worse, she only applied one layer of color. Every other salon I've been to does at least two, if not more, as standard. When she asked if I liked it, I said it looked okay--but it was nothing like the deeper lavender shade shown on the display. She offered to apply another gel color on top for an additional $10, but by then, I was already frustrated and declined. She did do a good job with my cuticles, which I appreciated. However, the promised 5-minute massage never happened. She applied the paraffin wax and left abruptly to help another regular client who walked in. A week later, the color on my thumb completely peeled off--without me doing anything that would cause it. I suspect this was due to the single-layer application. Overall, I won't be returning. The experience lacked quality, felt rushed, and was filled with unnecessary upselling.

Lily and Kim are the absolute best! Lily persuaded me to switch from acrylic to builder gel, and I'm never going back. My sets can last up to six weeks and they always turn out very chic. They also do very cute nail designs, so I've gotten a few fun ones, like the polka dot french tips in the photos (credit to Lily). They can do manicures and pedicures at the same time, so I often get a pedi too. They are always super friendly and sweet, they always ask about my kid. This is my favorite nail place in fremont!

I'm extremely satisfied with their service. They did an outstanding job and I highly recommend them.

Chipped thumb and middle finger nails. Dip powder and top coat peeled off

Do not come here! Not only did I have a bad experience in person, I am only 4 days out from getting my nails done and 4 nails have already chipped severely and lifted. The methods used at this salon are unlike any other salon I have been to. To remove the dip powder they wanted to soak my entire hand in a bag of acetone. I asked them not to and the staff totally gaslit me by saying that there are different methods but I've been to PLENTY of nail salons in my life and I have never once seen this. The application of the dip powder was also unconventional and when I tried to say something, the tech assured me that she knew what was she was doing. The top coat was layered on so thick, I knew it wasn't going to last. The place is very unorganized and unclean. Sample colors are thrown into a box on a chair and they didn't even let me know which ones were which. I also noticed that the sink was leaking and there was evidence of black mold along the floor board and door. I mentioned the leak to them and they played it off like I was crazy. The air vents are also covered in a thick layer of dust waiting to drop on people at any moment. To top it all off, this lady destroyed my nail beds and was in pain all night, having to ice and soak my fingers in warm salt water and take Advil for relief. After all of this, I feel I am due a refund at a minimum for my literal pain and suffering.

One of my favorite places to get my nails done! They're all so sweet and are constantly checking in with you to see if you are comfortable/okay. To book, you can either call or schedule an appointment online. When you get there, they will ask you to check in on an iPad! They also offer complimentary drinks. Prices vary depending on what you get but the price for basic pedicure & manicure is one that can't be beat! I always get a gel manicure and a basic pedicure here but today I tried their gel pedicure and builder gel manicure w/ chrome added and I AM IN LOVE!

Highly recommend Lilly for gel manicure! It was my first time here and she was the sweetest. She made sure I felt comfortable with everything and is very meticulous & thoughtful. Also they are giving out free hand lotion & cuticle oil for the holidays so that was a plus

We love coming to Coco Nail Salon. Lily and Kim always take great care of us. Our nails come out beautifully and last for several weeks. Today we enjoyed extra pampering with the organic Mani/pedi combo, which was just lovely. I love that it is a smaller, chill place, always very relaxing. Although, I didn't make any appointment as a walk-in customer, I was greeted with a warm welcome. Everyone was nice and helpful. I love the complimentary drinks they provide to you. My nails are super short, but Lily really made it work and it is looks good for short nails. Anh, also, made a great job at doing my pedicure. I booked few services, Mani/Pedi with gel nail polish and massage. Also eyebrow and lip waxing. I'm torn because I liked the pedicure, the first days of the manicure, and the massage, but the rest of the aftermath was a letdown. First, the tech showed up late, but I wasn't in a rush so it wasn't a problem. As for the actual work, my cuticles could've been cleaned up better on both my hands and my feet. I paid for gel nails thinking they would last longer, but they started chipping after a little over a week. The biggest issue, though, was my eyebrow wax. My eyelid actually got burned during the service, and three weeks later, I still have a mark from it. I tried reaching out to them privately through their contact form to show them the photos and ask for a refund on the wax service only, but they never bothered to reply. It's a bummer because the day started out nice, but between the burn, the mark still being there, the nails not lasting, and being ignored regarding the burn, it left a sour taste. read more

Cute Sign, BEWARE! I asked for an "Ice-cream mani (basic "Natural" manicure-opaque very soft nude" -" Not a Gel, nail technician said, ok. The nail showed me two TRANSPARENT polishes, not an opaque nude, which i did not approve; then calls her manager/owner on the phone then there is full blown conversation on speaker in Vietnamese, and then I was told by person on phone- sorry, we have no regular nail polish in nude or light pink, only in gel polish- you need to pick another color! This is so ridiculous, I come to nail salon so I can have someone do my nails, and have access to huge selection of color. I am not paying $25 to have someone tell me pick another color. THEN, person on phone said, you must PAY FIRST, thats our rules! Funny, the nail technician failed to mentioned "pay first rule" as she cut my nail and cleaned my cuticles.. There was no "Pay First before service"sign in the shop, and no Posted Pricing/ which should have been my first warning. Needless to say, I promptly left. read more

Absolutely love this salon. Lilly and Kim are amazing -- talented, detail-oriented, and genuinely kind. The space is always clean and welcoming, and I consistently leave with perfect nails. This is my go to nail salon!! This is one of the few places in Fremont that does builder gel (that I know of). When I got my set done, it lasted 4 weeks!! They use really good quality materials -the workers here are SUPER kind. Everytime I come here, they are so precise on each nail and make sure my cuticles look proper. The store is very clean and cozy. They make sure you have everything you need. read more

First time there, loved the ease of making the appointment online. I appreciate that they took me in on time and were very attentive to me. I have recently been looking for a new salon to try closer to my house. I searched on yelp & found Coco Salon and decided to give it a try. I am so glad that I did! Making an appointment was easy & the staff was so friendly! Lily did my nails and I got builder gel. Throughout the process she made sure I was comfortable and explained everything as I was going. I decided to get my nails done at Co Co Nail Salon because of good reviews I saw online and I was not disappointed. All the staff are warm and welcoming. They offer you free drinks. Lily does my nails most of the time and she always has cute and pretty nail design ideas for me. She also helps me with my ingrown toenail problem. I always go to them for manicure and pedicure before my vacation or any events. My nails feel stronger and the polish doesn't chip. They last for so long. I definitely recommended Co Co Nail Salon if you want quality service with a friendly environment. read more

I used to like coming to this place but the more popular this parlor is getting the less customers oriented this place has become. She over books and expects you to wait even after an appointment was made. Total disrespected for people's time and she is not even apologetic about it. Also they frown and make you feel uncomfortable for choosing regular nail polish. They repeat gel nail polish is better, faster because they want you to pay more. In fact if you read up on recent research gel nail polish has been banned across Europe starting this summer 2025 as it has cancer causing agents. Total lack of common courtesy. The nail artist that took care of me was very nice and did her job well but the owner is money hungry, over booking and lacks customer service etiquette. You can have the best nail polish, technicians, lights , jade statues and chairs but in the end it comes down to your soft skills which you don't have. read more

First time here today because it was 3 mins away from my house, plus the reviews were great. The place was clean, their nail work is up to date and trendy. They did a super clean job and continuously asked if I was comfortable or liked the look of my nails. They also offered free beverages, I got the Vietnamese coffee. Lily was amazing, she great and easy to talk to. She has phenomenal customer service! I had gel builder done for the first time and I freakin love it! It's pretty, natural looking, light and no cosmetic nail smell. Wish I did a before and after. Went to see Lily on a Tuesday for a pedicure while I waited from my kiddo at the dance studio across the way. This place is clean and organized. Lily was very aware of my sensitivities as I am on chemo. She was gentle and made sure I let her know if anything was bothering me. The nail color selections are great. I have gone to Co Co Nail Salon continuously over the last six months, and every time I am always so pleased with the service and my nails. I've tried so many salons in the Hayward to Fremont area, and I am so happy that I stumbled across this salon! This is definitely going to be my go-to well into the future. Initially I went in for a regular gel mani and was ecstatic at the amazing service I received! The workers are wonderful, they offer complimentary drinks, periodically check in with you to make sure they are taking care of you - is this the right color? Right shape? Are you comfortable? I've made the switch to builder gel and my nails have never felt better. This salon is one of the few that I've found that offers builder gel in the area, also with the widest selection, especially for the people that love the "clean aesthetic" or nude color look. The builder gel is strong, gentle on the nails underneath, and does not chip. I once carried a box of copy paper at the office and the handle snapped, I thought I was going to lose a nail (if it was anything other than builder gel, I wholeheartedly believe I would have). But no signs of breakage! And that set ended up up lasting me 4 weeks total. Highly, highly recommend Co Co! read more

She never asked me, nor did she suggest it. She did it on her own and expected me to pay double the amount that was agreed upon. No wonder her salon is always empty.

I contacted the salon immediately, and the owner was trying to help me... however, I understand asking whether I was on antibiotics is a standard question, but even after I explained that I wasn't on any medication and sent a photo clearly showing a skin tear, I felt the focus was more on finding another explanation than acknowledging the injury. I followed every aftercare instruction exactly as advised, applying ointment every three hours and avoiding hot water for the next 36 hours. When my eyelid remained swollen and painful, I reached out again and asked if they could refund my eyebrow service. Instead, I was told : " I'm sorry it still is in bad condition but it looks like you didn't use any ointment like I suggested" As someone who cares about my skin and previously worked in the aesthetics industry, that assumption was extremely disappointing because I had followed their instructions carefully. I understand that accidents can happen during waxing. What disappointed me was how that was handled afterward. As a long-time customer, I expected more professionalism and accountability.

I LOVE COCO'S! These ladies do a wonderful job. (I usually see Lily, but Kim is ) I always get Builder Gel manicures and VIP pedicures. They stand by their work and it always turns out awesome. They offer complimentary (non-alcoholic) drinks with thir services and play upbeat, yet relaxing music with an otherwise quiet ambience. They don't rush their work, so I really recommend making an appt before you visit so you have the best experience (instead of having to wait as a walk-in!). If you've never been... give it a try! I specifically told the nail technician to be gentle and to only trim it, not remove it. Despite this, the toenail was ripped off completely. I am in significant pain and it will now take several months for the nail to grow back. The experience did not stop there. My cuticles were also filed aggressively, even after I repeatedly asked for it to stop. At one point, I felt my concerns were not being taken seriously because she laughed at me. I left in discomfort that required them to apply Vaseline before I left due to irritation. I will not be posting a photo as the injury is graphic. This was a genuinely upsetting experience and I would not want anyone else to go through something similar. I would strongly recommend others consider going elsewhere. RESPONSE TO BUSINESS OWNER - Yes, $5.50 was taken off my bill. However, that does not come close to addressing what happened. I know my own toenails, and I clearly explained multiple times that one nail was loose and needed to be trimmed carefully. Despite that, the technician did not listen and ended up ripping the toenail off entirely. It was still attached and could have been handled gently, but it was not. At this point, my priority is not to go back and forth but to share my experience honestly so others are aware before booking an appointment. It was easy to schedule an appointment with Nailaland, just give them a call and book. The removal fee was $15, and the cost of a new set varied from $70-90+, depending on the chosen design. Chloe, my nail technician, was very patient during the removal process despite the big jewels flying everywhere as she was filing it off. After showing her a photo of the new design I wanted, she skillfully delivered a pretty finished product that I absolutely loved. Unfortunately, one of the butterfly wings broke after I got home, but Chloe was able to schedule a free fix after I contacted her. The salon accepts Venmo, Zelle, and PayPal as payment methods. I highly recommend coming here for quality Japanese nails.

Japanese gel is supposed to last much longer and doesn't lift. I immediately requested an appt. (it was my first time using this yelp option!). I answered some automated questions about the service I was interested in (nail art), dates I was available for an appt., who I'd like to make an appt. with (I chose Janice bc she had more reviews), and uploaded photos of inspo nails. I was messaged back in a timely matter to confirm the appt. I also inquired about the price (included a photo of the nails i wanted) to know what to expect with nail art. I was quoted $70-$75 (without extensions). Fast forward to my 11am appt. a few days after our interaction.. I arrive 10 min early, but the shop is completely closed. The sign says they are open at 10am, so I'm confused, like maybe I'm at the wrong place or?? I call, a girl apologizes saying someone should be there shortly. Ok, not a huge deal. I thought I would be getting my nails done by Janice, since that's who I chose in my appt. request, but Yumi was the one who opened up the shop and ended up doing my nails. She was really sweet and easy to talk to. For my nails, I wanted the design from the photo, but without the accent nail. I wasn't completely satisfied with my nails bc I feel like it wasn't as precise as in my inspo photo, but it was decent enough. When I went to pay she told me my total was $89, which caught me off guard bc according to our messages, I was quoted $70-$75, which when I told her, she said "I said it would be AROUND $70-$75." Why give a price range and not honor it? $14 is a big difference. Anyway, I'm not one to cause a scene so I paid, tipped, and left feeling like I was taken advantage of. 5 days after getting my nails done, the gel has already started lifting/ peeling. I'm even more disappointed and probably would not come back.

This place has really gone downhill. I've been coming for about a year but my last few services just got worse and worse to where I refuse to come back. 3rd to last appt - I came at a busy time and felt like my nails were really rushed so I decided to try coming on a different day. 2nd to last appt - I got a gel pedicure and there were bubbles and the customer service felt rushed. I started to realize this is becoming the norm here. Last appointment - I had a scheduled appointment and I waited for 30+ minutes until I decided this wasn't relaxing or worth it any more so I left. After 25 mins of waiting, the front desk lady gave me a bowl to start soaking my hands and she said "they're coming soon." They never communicated an apology or explanation that this would be a delayed appointment. Normal courtesy from salons is to give a heads up if it's 10-15 mins late. I waited 30 minutes and just decided to leave. As I was walking out the front desk person asked if I wanted to reschedule, I said no thanks and she just sighed as I was walking out. Never got an apology til the end..

If I hadn't read this tip from another review I honestly would've had a really hard time looking for her. I arrived on time for my appointment, but ended up having to wait about 20 minutes as she finished up with the customer before me. That was a bit frustrating, but Clara's personality and patience during my service helped ease that a bit. I showed her a picture of what I wanted, and she carefully went over each color with me. During the process, we did make a few changes - the base needed to be lighter, and I decided to add one more color in which working with Clara, we found the perfect glittery gold that went with the design. That last part really put the perfect finishing touch and I cannot be more happier with my nails. She was so detailed. She also does not rush, or handle your fingers/hand harshly. Total was $70 + tip (they also ask you to make a $10 deposit prior to the appointment). Would definitely visit her again.
