I've been coming to the salon for about 4 years now and I have never had a bad experience. All the girls are nice and do a good job. I started with tips and as they grew out I had them do a gel overlay. I've had this done at other places and didn't get good results. But Holly takes care of my nails and they are natural looking and kept at the perfect length each time (I type a lot). Holly and Jane are the only ones that do my waxing and I've not been burned or had a bad reaction. This has been the only place that does not make me breakout after a wax. I've tried other places (including upscale salons) and I always breakout. So I am happy here :) I'm very surprised at the negative comments about this place. There are days when they are busting at the seams because they are so busy and some days aren't busy and that's when I enjoy coming. read more

NOT happy at all.. Idk why I used to go to this place?? But 4wks ago, was the LAST time! WOOHOO!! Ok, soo.. I asked for short nails, she did them long.. I requested over, and over again for her to cut or file them down, in one ear, out the other.. I asked if she can do cheetah print, she said yes, she did 3 tries, I finally just said whatever, after being there 1.5 hours, I just wanted to get our of there... They're pricing is ridiculous, they always try to up sell anything and everything.. at the end of my very long and unpleasant day there, for nails and a pedi(that was only 10mins long) cost me $72 I had asked how much was each?? And all she said, was "ohh heheh", like if she didn't understand me.. Sadly 3 days after my nails started to bubble, and my middle finger nail began to lift smh.. I now thank gawd found a new nail place!! :) tho it's far, id rather drive the drive than over pay for something that I'm not happy with.. read more

The owners & all the ladies here are very friendly & do a good job. They know me & my family, really care about us & providing great services. I always get the gel mani, & sometimes gel pedi too. The gel brand they use lasts me 3 weeks, sometimes 4 weeks (if my schedule doesn't allow me to come in before this length of time). For nail art, Holly is on top of the latest nail art trends & always blows me out of the water with her amazing designs (see 4th of July pic). Overall the salon is clean & tidy. Will never go back. Came to get a gel Manicure and regular pedicure. I have been getting my nails done for years and it's never hurt before. My nails began to bleed and I told the lady I was in pain and she didn't seem to care. After she put the gel on I told her there was blood in the gel and she told me it was my fault because I have dry skin. I left in a lot of pain. Will never go here again. read more

Rude service. I asked for coffin nails a few times and she gave me square. I kept telling her I wanted coffin and so she would continue to "file" it down but ended up being square. I asked her if I was being charged for coffin nails and she said yes. I repeatedly told her to make it look like that but nope. Never coming here again. read more

I went in to get a pedicure here a few days ago. This salon has a very professional staff, and the place is very clean, quiet and comfortable. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for a customer named Stephanie who was there. She was very rude and impolite to her manicurist and the manager and refused to pay at the checkout. I don't know what caused her rude behavior, but it was such an awful thing to take place in such a lovely business. I feel so bad for the staff that had to deal with such an event. That being said, I highly recommend coming to this shop for your beauty needs. read more

Wow! I've been going here for years and continued as my favorite manicurist left. Today, I started to call at 11 for an appt, no answer....continued thru the early afternoon. I stopped by and was told they weren't answering calls because they were so Busy! Really?? That's how you do business? Completely snubbed by Christine! Last time I was in they charged $53 for a mans mani-pedi! A little too much! Asked a friend to call and they answered! Hope Ken gets a chance to review this type of customer service!!! Won't be back! Poor quality service..very over priced. Cold water for the spa pedicure, spa chair kept stopping..asked for short toes.. wouldn't cut them short..poor quality gel manicure, barely did any kind of manicure before the gels.. had to ask to file my nails evenly.... nail polish on fingers! When I was done, apparently: wasn't sure No one spoke to me just left me sitting there..I finally got up to try & put on sandals, then young lady got off her cell to help..wow $60 , what a waste: would never go back & never recommend the place. read more

I really wanted to like this salon because it is so close to my home... unfortunately, I don't... the first time I got a gel manicure and it began chipping two days later!!! I called and scheduled another gel manicure the following week because I had an upcoming event. Again, this gel manicure is chipping... the nail polish is peeling at the corners.. definitely not worth the money. Also, the person answering the phone is so rude and short... no customer service skills whatsoever. I'll pass on this salon. read more

I used to come to this salon with the old owners & ended up finding another salon in Glendora I liked. I tried coming here again the other day because I heard they have the nail dipping. I came 30 mins before my appointment and was seated immediately. My nails came out beautiful and I was in and out of there pretty fast. I'm here now at the Nail-Spa Excel in La Verne. I forgot my protein clear nail polish so I just wanted a manicure and pedicure but no polish on my hands so when I got home I could put my own polish on. Well, they proceed to buff my nails and charge extra to buff & when I asked if they were charging for any extras other than the French manicure on my toes, they said yes. I said I don't want to pay to buff when I'm saving u step to not have to polish. They really should have communicated any upgraded charges for extras. Well, they got upset & said they wouldn't charge but gave me one hand buffed and one hand not buffed & without polish; it's noticeable. Oh well, but then it gets better (oh I mean worse) they talked fast and started rubbing fast and hard and I don't think I've ever had a quicker lady put lotion on my hands... Now, on my feet, same thing! She only wanted to use the pumice once cause I wouldn't pay for calace removal. I guess if u don't have upgrades, they give you the bare bones service without a smile; with a snarl.... read more

I'm so upset I could cry!!! I went in for a pedi and then they talked me into a mani, as she was doing my mani she looked at me and said she would wax my eyebrows I said ok then she proceeded to wax my whole face and I mean my whole face she even waxed my forehead (to my shock) I said your going to wax my forehead??? she sad yes you have hair!! Ok wow I never saw hair but ok I guess... After she was done waxing she walked over and whispered something in one of the other employees ears and they both looked at me with a surprised look and I thought it was because she told her I was a hair monster I mean gosh to have to have my forehead waxed I must be... So I felt ashamed of myself for a minute! Then they all packed up their stuff and told me I had to pay now!! They close at 7 and it was only 6:30 my nails were still wet but I paid a whooping $120.. Mind you I only went for the pedi... I was rushed out the door to see her get in her BMW and drive away fast. I got in my car and looked in the mirror to see half of my eye brow is missing I look like vanilla ice!! I have never been very vain but seriously this is horrible I don't know if I can even fix it!! never ever go here!!!!!!!!! I haven't been here in so long. I am glad I suggested us stopping in this afternoon. I use to come here all the time in HS but the service was good then. But its remarkable now. I don't want to go any other place. That is how much I enjoyed this nail salon. The new owner Ken is amazing and easy going. He does great nails and is so personal and friendly even loves what he does. He cares about the quality of the work he does, and wants you to be happy with the finishing results. He enjoys his customers and people who come into this place. This salon is very different from other's around. I really thought they were all nice and working hard and it is such a inviting place to come to. They do great work hands down. Ken also recommended me getting a new style set of nails called nexgen ombre style when I walked in. I was so pleased he said that was the new thing and to try it out. I am so happy I did and really happy with my nails. They are so lovely. They disappointed at all. I am so pleased with them and will return soon. I know his customers were really nice and friendly as well and that just makes for an all around great visit. This environment is so calming and relaxing. I felt so comfortable the minute I sat down even walked in. They take care of you. This is the type of place you want to come to. Walking in the door we knew we picked the right place. They changed the colors in this salon and even put chandeliers hanging from the ceiling to give it an extra touch. I keep saying how beautiful this place was. My mom even said this is the first time she has went and people have been so gentle with her feet. For once she wasn't nervous about them being touched. They are so gentle and do great work.
