I wish I could write a positive review for this restaurant, because the food and service were actually pretty good. However, my experience ended up being pretty bad in the end. I brought my 1 year old daughter in to eat breakfast with me this morning. I understand children can be loud, but that doesn't excuse extremely inappropriate and rude comments made by staff. There was a gentleman, middle aged wearing a flannel, that felt the need to loudly talk about my daughter in earshot of me to two separate employees. I literally overheard him call her a "spawn of satan." This was the same employee who was talking loudly about drinking alcohol when I first walked in (10am). Keep in mind it was an empty dining room and she wasn't being that loud, just normal baby noises. No crying or screaming. The protective father in me really had to keep a calm head. This is definitely not a family establishment and needless to say I would not recommend bringing children here. read more

We love going to Naked Cafe for breakfast and lunch. Unfortunately, they are closed for dinner. The servers are fun, and as regulars, they often remember what we order. The back patio is charming. Their flour tortillas from Lopez Foods in El Cajon are very thin and delicious. The fresh squeezed OJ is out of this world. Their avocados are always just perfect. I usually order off the "sides" menu and make my own breakfast burrito with scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon, avocado and salsa. Hubby orders their oatmeal with a side of pumpkin chocolate bread. For some reason, they top most dishes with a sprig or two of cilantro, but we just ask that it be left off. They also have great tasting healthy menu items, but we aren't big eaters, so we prefer to order off the sides menu. read more

It was great yet again. We brought the grandkids since we wanted to feed them something healthy. Grandson had a chicken quesadilla with mango. He loved it and the coconut rice. Granddaughter, the pickiest eater alive, split the ginger tacos. She loves the sauce. She also had a peanut butter smoothie. So happy. They wanted crappy junk food and i made them try this place. Don't bring your children here. They did not provide good service to us and our friends that had four 3 to 5 year olds between us. We sat on the back patio trying not to disturb people, but that seemed to be where everyone wanted to sit. So everyone looked annoyed with us. They seemed to give the people without children better service around us, and they all seemed to show up to clear our table and get us out of there. Very unwelcoming. I also did not care for the Wok bowl or marinated chicken. It had something in the seasoning that must be ultra healthy, but I did not care for. I like healthy food, and it can still taste good. Hidden gem amidst strip mall mundaneness. This restaurant has been located near the HomeGoods off El Camino Real for several years with it's unassuming store front. During the pandemic, they were able to take advantage of space in the back of the building to create a lovely, quiet, shaded, private patio. It's VERY NICE and completely unexpected given the location. Kudos to the owners for investing in doing the back patio right! It's a charming cafe in a park-like setting. The food is very good, reasonably priced, and offers a number of gluten-free options. Perfect oasis for breakfast or lunch. The house guava ginger kombucha (non-alcoholic) is the best I've had. This was our second visit to a Naked Cafe, having visited the Point Loma location previously. We were not disappointed...in fact, this is now one of our favorite breakfast places. I am so disappointed. Like beyond. I went in 9:10am this morning, it was actually dead inside the restaurant. Only one gentleman inside and two people outside. A young lady asks me how she can help me and I say, could I have a seat? She says yes. So...I have a seat.. I wait.. and wait.. I see a bunch of workers .. no one approaches me.. then a party of 6 comes in and a waiter goes running up to them to take their drink order. There are a few items that I wouldn't order again like the buckwheat pancakes but other than that everything I've had so far has been good. They are the best pancakes I've ever had! No matter what i order i know ill enjoy it, and the portions are generous! The staff is very friendly and service is great. Without a doubt one of the best healthy restaurants around. A downside? They don't serve alcohol if you sit outside, since it is not fenced in. Now let me tell you what my wife and I really love about this place. It is their artichoke quesadilla, coconut french toast and most of their pancakes. You should be a healthy eater to like their coffee though. In my opinion, they do not have good coffee generally. Their service is generally OK. I am not big on service usually, but one of their servers always makes us feel great when he sees us. But I had occasions where my order was missed or I never received it.
