    Delicious food! THANK YOU!

Delicious food! Tried specialty rolls, shrimp and veggie tempura, and beef Udon! Thank you!

"Naked Fish delivered top-tier customer service, a spotless atmosphere, and the Dennis Roll was absolutely delicious--10/10 experience."

Got take out from here and it was sooo yummy! This is the first time my family has been here and we were surprised by the quality, portions, and flavors. Service was quick when we went to pick things up. It's a plus that prices here are slightly cheaper than our usual go-to spot and that's huge in this economy iykyk. Would recommend!

Tried Naked Fish Restaurant and ordered the California roll and Lion King roll. Both rolls were good for the price--fresh enough, well-portioned, and satisfying. Nothing too fancy, but definitely hits the spot if you're looking for affordable sushi. The Lion King roll stood out more with its flavor, while the California roll was a solid classic. Overall, a good value sushi spot. Would come back when craving sushi without spending too much.

This is a great place to eat udon on a chilly evening! We also tried the donburi that had a good proportion & came with a complimentary miso soup. The food was great but minus one star because they only had two servers for the whole restaurant and they couldn't keep up with all the tables. They checked in on us once but we had to wait a long time to get the check.

This place is great!!!The rolls were really good, the lemon drop was so good and the chef gave us some sushi to try and it was so good. The baked mussels were really good too. The team was super nice and helpful and happy to give recommendations.I would highly recommend it and will definitely be back!

It was Friday date night, and my better half and I didn't want to drive far, so we tried Naked Fish. We've driven, but only a few times. It's in a strip mall by Safe Way and 24 Hour Fitness. There is plenty of parking. The restaurant is small but has roughly 14 tables set up in 4 tops and 2 tops, and there are about a dozen chairs around the sushi bar. Decor is just okay. Don't sit at the front tables by the door; you will freeze. We did, and we ended up asking to move. The menu is a fairly normal sushi restaurant menu. They did have specials, but we were never told them. They have them written on a chalkboard, but then people sit in front of the chalkboard, so we didn't see it until after our order was taken. We ordered: Bento Box Two Miso Soups Agedashi Tofu Spicy Tuna Roll Miso soup was super tasty and very nice on a chilly night. Bento was good. My better half enjoyed it. Agedashi Tofu was good. The sauce was a bit salty, but I like that, so it didn't bother me. The tofu was soft and creamy. Spicy tuna roll--I never received it, so I wouldn't know. I had the tofu and soup and ordered the spicy tuna roll. My better half and I shared the tofu, and then his Bento arrived. Still no Tuna Roll. My better half literally had one piece of chicken left on his plate when a server asked me, "Can we get you anything?" I said you never brought me dinner. They never came back and told me why. They did apologize and remove my soup and tofu from the bill. I don't know if they were understaffed or just focusing more on the number of to-go orders they had, but I left hungry. The staff is very kind. They are the reason for the two stars. I hate downing local businesses. However, the system has to get better. I'm just not sure how you missed my dinner. Anyway, life goes on. One other thing to note: They charge you for take out containers. You mean if I buy my food, sit down in the restaurant, eat, and don't finish, I have to pay you more to take it home with me? Nice. I'll bring Tupperware next time. It was not a great experience, but again, kudos to the staff for trying. I'll be back to try again. Remember to eat local!

Naked Fish is a cool spot for Japanese food. Staff is friendly and attentive. I like the baked mussels. The topping is creamy and compliments the mussels. The spicy tuna rolls are delicious. It's a favorite of ours to order. The assorted sashimi is good. Decent sized pieces of fish and tastes fresh. Teriyaki chicken is good. It's one of my favorites on the menu.

Ask the Community - Naked Fish

Why are they not answering their phone are they closed?

Currently, during pandemic, their hours are from 4pm to 9pm for take out and dine-in. They are not open for lunch time hence why nobody answers the phone prior to 4pm.

Do they have a different number? Every time I call it's busy.

Not sure if there is a different number. However they may be offering take out so best go there direct and ask. Sorry I don't have a better answer than this.

What are the store hours? Can we call ahead to place and order?

For the Shelter-In-Place, 4-9 PM. You can call ahead to place an order but it may be busy/take awhile to reach someone during peak hours.

Is Naked Fish open during the shelter in place? I've tried calling a few times but no answer.

They are open but later in the evening

I came during the weekday so it wasn't as busy and food was phenomenal and the brunch menu was very creative. I recently came back for dinner with my family and some friends. We had the purple-colored Ube Pancakes and the Khao Hom Waffle, which contained strips of fresh coconut meat, and both beautifully-plated dishes were topped with berries and syrup. I was an even bigger fan of the Thai side of the menu, starting with the Papaya Salad, a refreshing, crunchy mixture of shredded papaya, green beans, tomatoes, and crushed peanut in a spicy, sweet, acidic dressing made of fish sauce and lime. For our mains, the Northern Thai Khao Soi was a noodle soup made of egg noodles and chicken breast strips in a rich coconut curry, topped with crispy egg noodles, pickled cabbage, and fried shallots. From the Chef's Special menu, the Tom Yum Crab Omelet was a mound of jasmine rice enveloped with an egg omelet, topped with chunks of crab, mushrooms, and a creamy tom yum sauce; and my favorite dish was the Roti Gai Tod, a hearty combination of breaded chicken thigh, roti (a flaky flatbread), cucumber salad, jasmine rice, and a mild but flavorful yellow curry sauce on the side. Overall, everything we tried here was delicious, and the service was super quick and friendly too! It's hard to go wrong with anything on the extensive menu--what a great hidden gem of a restaurant in downtown Hayward!

The staff told her we wouldn't be seated unless our entire party was present. About 4 people were late, but they still seated us. The restaurant kind of felt old and somewhat dirty. But hey, it was my dad's birthday. I wasn't paying for lunch. We occupied three tables and ordered from both the lunch and dim sum menus. I enjoyed dishes like shiu mai, pork buns, walnut shrimp, fried rice, fish, and fried noodles. The sesame balls were tasty, but the service was slow, and I had to follow up on our order. I didn't care for the bun with the hot dog or the other noodle dish. Later that day, my daughter mentioned she had found hair in a pork bun and that her cousin had eaten it. She also said every item he picked up had hair on it, which was disappointing. I didn't confirm this with my cousin, but it would have been helpful to have someone inform the staff. Fortunately, no one at our table found hair in their food, which was a relief. Overall, the food that I ate was fine, but I wouldn't make a special trip from San Jose to visit again...unless it's a fambam family treat.
