    Pickled Daikon (side)
    Alendre L.

Ordered takeout through Doordash and the food looked just as good as the pictures. We got the Dakgangjeong chicken, tteokbokki with fish cakes, beef kimbap, and 2 very generous helpings of pickled daikon (which I really appreciated). Overall, everything was pretty good - the Korean fried chicken had a nice sweet flavor, the tteokbokki had a rich seafood taste, and the kimbap's rice was well seasoned. For to-go food, it hit the spot - definitely a go-to option for nights when we're too lazy to cook.

It's a classic, but it had way too many carrots and lettuce. I could barely find any egg or spinach. :(

The food quality felt inconsistent. Compared to what I've had before, this classic one had way too many carrots and lettuce, while the egg and spinach were barely noticeable. :(

This is a ghost kitchen associated with East Bay Eats! Ordered online and the pickup was easy and seamless! There are tables inside and outside to eat, but most people seem to do take-out like I did. I ordered 2 rolls of kimbap (one spicy pork, one tuna mayo with kimchi), the rose tteokbokki, and a jjajangmyeon. Kimbap 8/10 - flavorful and tasty! Had all the fixings of a traditional kimbap, and their rice was still nice and soft. Perfect for a quick lunch! Rose tteokbokki 9/10 - a larger portion than I expected lol. This was my favorite thing that we ordered, and I'm usually not a fan of tteokbokki! Chewy rice cakes in a creamy, spicy sauce topped with bacon. Yum, I couldn't stop eating this. I just wish they cut the fish cake slightly smaller! Jjajangmyeon 6/10 - It was hard to call this jjajangmyeon to be honest, didn't have that black bean flavor that I associate with this dish - really had more of a salty, soy sauce (??) flavor rather than the deep, rich flavor you get from black bean sauce. The noodles, however, had the perfect chew and bounce to them!

Didn't taste right, something felt off. The spicy rice cake was also hella watered down/ soupy. & The black bean noodles were just alright maybe it's because we ordered takeout or ordered the wrong stuff but would like to try this place out again

Would definitely get kimbap here again! Ordered these on doordash and took about 20 min to be ready. Pick up was simple and fast. We got the 3 rolls for $30. Classic 4/5 This was imitation crab and the usual fixings. Tasty and delicious and well classic. lol. I'd prefer if it was fishcake though instead of the crab. Beef 4.5/5 The bulgogi in here was seasoned well so blended perfectly with the pickles and other stuffings. I would definitely get this one over and over. Spam and cheese 3/5 I can't currently have kimchi as I would have preferred spam and kimchi. The American cheese is just too overpowering and off putting to me but the spam was delicious as always. Overall, good kimbap for a great value. Don't plan on eating here as it is a ghost kitchen although there were bathrooms and tables inside.

Kimbap mix and match, spam musubi

Delicious on-the-go kimbap! Finally, a place that specializes in kimbap! My son and I enjoyed trying the 3 mix and match rolls, love the variety. And the spam musubi reminds us of Hawaii as we're we're just coming back from the island.

The ros tteokbokki is soo good. It's creamy, has a ton of thin fish cakes, the crumbled bacon on top and the rice cake itself has a good chew. We also ordered the spam kimbap and it was light and refreshing. And the mochi cheese ball is a good app. And you dip it in the cheese powder and it gives it the flavor.

Saw a video for Bobjip on instagram, so decided to try it. It's one of the many ghost kitchens located inside of East Bay Eats. - Kimbap: flavorful and comes with many pieces - Bibimbap: is missing the crunch you get with a regular bibimbap in the stone pot, but was still flavorful - Soft tofu soup: delicious and filling Miscellaneous: - Unisex bathrooms located in the back - Only indoor seating available (2 high tables and 4 regular tables) - Parking available via a shared parking lot

Bobjip is a part of a ghost kitchen!! Just so you know what to expect! We placed an order of their website for pick-up, however, there were seats there available if you do want to grab your food and eat it there immediately. We got the jajangmyeon, rosé tteokbokki and bulgogi kimbap. They were all very yummy! I especially liked the tteokbokki - it's kind of like a cheeseburger, just with rice cakes lol. Will definitely order again!

Mix & Match Combo Kimbap - beef, unagi, bobjip special (left to right)
    Jennifer C.

Got the Mix & Match Combo Kimbap with a beef, unagi, and bobjip special. I was most excited for the bobjip special but it ended up being my LEAST favorite. Beef was solid and I'd be open to getting it again and the unagi had the most flavor and is probably my number 1 for now. Also, keep in mind Bobjip is part of a ghost kitchen. If you order online, keep your receipt because you'll have to scan it on their machine and it'll pop open a locker where you'll grab your food.

Dakgangjeong (Sweet Crispy Korean Fried Chicken) - $24.95)
    Rachel L.

Such a great spot for Korean food that I wish more people knew about. The portions are quite generous which matches the price of their items. The tteokbokki lasted me a few days and the amount of chicken they give for the Dakgangjeong is a lot!! Everything came out piping hot and full of comforting sweet, savory, spicy korean flavors. The chicken was super flavorful, tender, and juicy. Rice cakes were perfectly cooked and swimming in a delicious sauce. The kimchi fried rice honestly wasn't my favorite, as it had a weird cheesy flavor. However, everything else really made up for it. Also tried their potato tornado which was fun to eat and a delicious snack. When you arrive, you can order in the kiosk! I think you can also order ahead online. The whole process went smoothly. Overall a really great hidden gem for tasty korean food!

I actually didn't discover this spot until I found it on doordash, and it did NOT disappoint. It's like a ghost kitchen where you can order ahead and pickup, or get delivery via doordash. Our favorite dishes here include the rose teokkbokki, the kimchi fried rice, the kimbap, and the jajangmyeon (the black noodles). Another great dish is the deep fried vermicelli noodle rolls, and the fried chicken. Pros: - AMAZING TASTING FOOD, it never disappoints and always hits the right spot. I purposely keep the rose spicy rice cake sauce even after I eat the food in it, and I put it on rice because it's so good! The kimchi fried rice has a good flavor without being too spicy. - Fantastic portions for the large dishes, totally worth the price. You could definitely share 2 dishes between 2 people and be super full and satiated. Most dishes are under $20 - Really good packaging for delivery - everything is super secure, the jajangmyeon noodles dish comes with the sauce separated from the noodles just like it should be. - Really consistent quality between multiple orders honestly 10/10 will keep coming for the texture of the spicy rice cakes

Okay I came back and have ordered 3 times and the update is... no soap taste! I really hope my previous review helped this! So thank you if you heard this Bobjip! I had ordered the 3 roll kimbap and it was the one that tasted soapy and it doesn't at all now! I love this spot because I love Korean style street food. It takes me back to my times as a student studying in Korea ordering street food late night with friends. They also have jajang myeon which I missed so much when ordering delivery, seaweed rolls when dipped in tteokboki is sooo good, and a variety of kimbap that I don't see that often. I just wish they had those big kimchi mandus I often had for lunch, they were so huge! I highly recommend this spot if you want to try something a little different from typical Korean restaurants and nostalgic to Korean street food.

To be honest, Fusion used to be terrible, and I used to absolutely hate coming here. Food was slow in coming, what came out was often cold, the dining room was loud, and service was impersonal, at best. On one visit, half the menu was unavailable, requested silverware was crooked, and numerous glasses, bowls, and plates were chipped or damaged. On another visit, I saw multiple families sneak out of the restaurant, walk to McDonald's across the plaza, and smuggle food back in to tide them over until their orders came. After a while, I wasn't alone in meeting the decree of, "come to Fusion on Saturday," with a groan. However, when HL Peninsula opened in Castro Valley and established itself as a threat to Fusion's business, it served as a wake-up call. Food immediately got better (from "below-average" to "know what to order and you'll be fine"), the speed of service improved, and food temperature became consistent and proper. It's not QUITE a "different restaurant" feel, and there are still some negatives. It's still loud and service could still be better (there have been times where chicken wings have taken over an hour to come out, which is a "should not occur"). However, at least I don't dread coming here anymore.

The interior has that classic, old-school Asian restaurant vibe, almost bordering on a tiki bar feel. I'd heard about Genghix from locals for a long time, and now I understand the appeal. We started with the chicken lettuce cups and seared butterfish--both were excellent, and our 11-year-old especially loved the lettuce cups. For entrées, we ordered seafood Pad Thai, chicken fried rice, honey walnut prawns, Mongolian chicken, and steamed rice. Everything came out fresh, flavorful, and easily held its own against some of our go-to spots. We had plenty of leftovers and they tasted great for lunch the next day. Overall, it was a really enjoyable meal, and we're already planning to go back and explore more of the menu. It's extensive and can feel a bit overwhelming, but if you're in the mood for Japanese, Chinese, Thai, or Vietnamese cuisine, you'll definitely find something that hits the spot.
