    Awesome wall art.

Stopped by while attending another market and I must say the flavors of both the ramen and sushi were exquisite. There was no line and ordering was quick. The Shoyu Ramen has the best pork belly I've had in a while. All the other ingredients were prepared perfectly. The sushi was something I generally don't select but the combination was very pleasing. The wall art and decor read 100% Japanese eatery. Hope to stop by again soon.

Great place to get a ramen. You can personalize it as well as get sharable items. We got the special that came with a drink.

    Spicy Miso with a roach

My spicy miso had a roach. They refunded the 2 ramens my boyfriend and I ordered (supposedly) but it seems like they still charged for the appetizer and tip, which I will be disputing. Why wouldn't they refund the whole thing? Apparently roaches have been a problem based on past reviews. I do not recommend this place at all.

We came at 6PM on a Saturday night. Didn't seem too busy until I noticed they had only one server. It took about 5-7 minutes for us to be greeted once we sat down. Love how detailed the menu is. Makes it easy to decide what you want! While the service was a bit slow, the food comes out so quick! We started with the pan fried gyoza. Delicious with the perfect crunch. We also loved the spicy bacon edamame. This was something we'd never had before but was amazing! Only complaint, the edamame seemed a little over cooked. That might just be preference though. The ramen was the perfect temperature and had all the perfect fixings in it! The nama roll was a great addition to our meal. We had to try as much as we could. We will be back! This might be our new favorite ramen spot!

    Okonomiyaki Fries

So like, the decor is cute. So that's nice but the tables were clunky and some were painted metal so it sticks to your arms. But let's talk food right? Pork Ribs Ramen - 3 Sweet Broth and Sweet Egg. Over cooked noods. Ribs were tender. Wouldn't recommend unless you want your ramen sweet Okonomiyaki Fries - 1 Not okonomiyaki in the slightest. It's really takoyaki fries without octopus. It has their version of eel sauce (sweet and lightly tangy), furikake and bonito flakes. How is any of the okonomiyaki? I. Am. Not. Sure. Pan Fried Gyoza 5? I didn't get to eat any, everyone are them all. So I assume they were awesome? Anyway. Best of luck.

Not sure what the hype is for this place, I am shocked it was voted for best ramen in SA for the last two years. FYI, chopsticks are the only utensil they have. They do not have any forks. Appetizer: Takoyaki, the texture was not crispy as I expected and the filling inside was too mushy. The octopus itself was very hard. I tried one and was done with it. Ramen: I ordered their most popular ramen which is the tonkotsu ramen. One word DISAPPOINTED, how can the pork broth be so clear. I have tried numerous ramen places in both the states and Japan and I have never seen a broth this light. The broth was bland as expected, thankfully they have black garlic oil to save the day. The chashu ( braised pork belly) cut was too thick, hence it was overcooked and dry. The only thing that was good was the noodles itself, it was cooked perfectly. Even if it is just for decor, I think adding a piece of seaweed to all ramen bowls is a nice finishing touch. The service was okay, our servers would check on us periodically. There are other ramen places in town that are a lot better. I honestly would not recommend this place to my friends or family.

Chicken karaage ramen + shiitake mushrooms / Shoyu

I've had my fair share of ramen and I have to say that Nama is the best in San Antonio. Can't say much about the sushi however the ramen is exceptionally delicious. And you can't go wrong with the sukiyaki fries. Inside is cute and a lot more spacious than old location. Love the decor!

    Tantanmen ramen

After a lot of recommendations for this place AND being voted best ramen in San Antonio for at least the past two years, I had high expectations for Nama Ramen. I noticed "chutoro" painted on the mural out front. This made me also want sushi. The first thing I didn't like about Nama was that they did not have high chairs for children. Surely, I was not the first foodie to ever bring a toddler to the restaurant, right? As I browsed the menu, I came across the Tantanmen ramen and asked our waitress what her opinion on it was. She recommended it and I decided to try it. As I knew I also wanted sushi, I told her to come back as I look over the sushi menu. Again, chutoro caught my eye, so I wanted something with chutoro. Well, unless I was too distracted from my toddler climbing over me as I tried to read the menu on my phone, I did not see anything that had chutoro, or anything else that caught my attention. While the Mandalorian roll name did catch my eye, I wasn't in the mood for a novelty sushi roll. I ended up skipping out on sushi. As my ramen came out, I did notice the broth tasted like peanut, and I enjoyed it. However, fighting off my toddler with one arm and trying to eat ramen one-handed was not the experience for me. It tasted good, but I had to eat so fast that I couldn't enjoy it or figure out what the tastes were. Sure, some of you are thinking, leave your kid at home. Well, foodies end up having families and try to bring their kids to nice restaurants also, so no, I won't leave them at home. Finally, the music they played during my visit is 100% my type of music. But the volume at which it was played with the combination of my monkey toddler made it difficult to have a conversation with my wife without yelling. It just distracted from the overall vibe for me.

Excellent service. They were very kind when talking to my baby sister about substitutions. They accommodated all of our needs. Not only did she enjoy the food she ordered, but she also enjoyed our other sister's food as well. The katsudon we ordered was *VERY* flavorful; we evened it out with the broth from the spicy karaage which was interesting. In terms of ambiance, it's very cute. The music is a little aggressive, but it makes sense. Overall, if you're looking for a place to have a nice sit down lunch with some friends or a date, I would suggest this place. The staff is quick to make sure we're well served and made sure our drinks were full. - Deez :P

This place is good. I have had different from here and I enjoyed them all. It's beyond rare to have three great dishes at a spot! My favorite so far has been ramen and a dish I can't remember!

    Samantha M.

I was super excited to try this spot out. The Ramen Bowl spicy karragen ramen is what I got. It wasn't spicy like at all, not even a hint of spice. So I asked for something to make it hotter siracha, or chili paste something. I was told all they had was a house siracha and it was .75 cents for a small little amount. So why not? Weird ti charge for that but okay it's house maybe it's super good. I cautiously put a small amount and no change so I dumped the whole thing in there and still didn't get a spicy kick that I wanted. So I was def very dissatisfied with this dish because I had read some rave reviews. I also ordered the bao bun. It was okay, nothing amazing. The fries were okay, they had something called "goblin style" or something like that, but the waitress didn't explain it so we got them the regular way. They were ok fries were a little too hard. I like that there's plenty of parking. The seating is spaced out. But this is kind of out of the way. I have had better ramen closer to the city center so I won't be going back. The service is just not up to par and neither is the good, hopefully it was just an off day or something.

We enjoyed our take out ramen. It was yummy. We came here due to everything I had been hearing that they have Monday car meets, although I didn't go on a Monday. Atmosphere is relaxing. We will definitely do a sit down there soon. The service was very welcoming and helpful.

Do you still need a reservation here?

No. I have been there twice within the last two months. I am writing this in July 2022. I just showed up with two other people in my party. The first time was about a 10 minute wait. But the second time was pretty immediate. No reservations either…

Are they still open because I haven't receive any updates, drove there for them to be close for a whole?

I had never eaten here before so I was really excited to try it and I'm so glad they brought me here because every single thing we tried was absolutely delicious! We sat outside on the patio, there was a nice breeze, and it wasn't too hot, and there weren't too many people out there, which was nice. Our server was great, she checked on us just enough, but not so much that it was bothersome. Off of the happy hour menu we ordered the shrimp and we love them so much we ordered a second one. We also ordered seaweed salad, which was delicious, pork dumplings, which were perfect, and the ginger, garlic beef with tempura sweet potato fries, and that was really good. I just wish that it wasn't ground beef because it was a little bit hard to get with chopsticks. We ordered a Philadelphia roll, and I cannot remember the names of the other two but one of them had yellow fish. (Sashimi I think) everything was wonderful and tasted super fresh. For a dessert we wanted to be daring and ordered the black sesame crème brûlée and it was absolutely wonderful! Not what I was expecting at all, the flavor was great, and the sesame seed was not overbearing. I can't wait to go back and try the Ramen and definitely dig back in to all of the awesome offerings on the happy hour menu!
