Don't get your hopes up folks. Although the food I ate looked good, and tasted fair...the prices are beyond the ambiance and service provided. I had a legitimate problem with what I ordered, as the menu was confusing with pricing and add-ons...or extra fees after certain hours (greedy much?), and when the manager or owner came over to talk with me, she shoved a completely different menu my way to support her argument. Giving this place three stars, but in reality, it's more in the 3.5 range. As far as sushi is concerned, I've never been blown away. In fact, I ordered a roll once topped with krab (the imitation stuff), and the presentation was pretty awful and unseemly. The krab rested atop the roll like a hoodie. Like the roll was wearing a poncho. I don't know. It was strange. Sushi in and of itself, in my opinion, is very dependent on presentation, so when the roll is lacking in that department, it almost tastes different. A favorite of mine is the chicken teriyaki. Nami offers a good lunch special that includes rice (substitute fried rice for a nominal fee), soup or salad, and a sort of carrot salad garnish with the chicken itself. All in all, it's a sizeable meal for about nine bucks. Not at all bad. Where Nami really succeeds is in restaurant setup. I know this may seem trivial, but it's something I very much focus on. The restaurant strikes a nice balance between the mom & pop (largely minimalistic; flow largely revolves around the sushi bar) and the upper class (a very striking glass waterfall in the middle of the restaurant). It's a totally cool feel. All in all, considering the area (which doesn't really offer much in the way of independent restaurants, I don't think. If you know of any, please offer some suggestions!), Nami is certainly a must-visit. read more

Went here on Super Bowl Sunday because I know they didn't have any t.v.'s. There were 2 other people there eating, and they finished, so I had the whole place to myself. I placed my order for a Cali roll, Eel roll, and Kamakazi roll. The food was brought out to the table in about 5 minutes. Everything was amazing. Service was great, which it should have been anyways given that I was the only one in the place. Sushi was fresh as always. I have no complaints. Plus it is practically right around the corner from where I live. I would definitely recommend Nami for sure. I also received a message from the owner on here the other day from my last review and he apologized to me because the roll I ordered last time I didn't like and he said that he would make it up to me next time I was there, but there really wasn't anything wrong with it, it just wasn't something I liked. It is good to know that they care what they put out. That in my mind gives them bonus points. Not sure where the four stars come from. This is the first time I write a bad review. The staff was nice good service but the food was horrible. The restaurant has a D- in cleanliness the surroundings where very dirty. We wanted to try it because it is always packed. Now we know why... this is the only habachi place near by. Rice was under cooked, the chicken and churrasco had no flavor, just tons of butter. The chef did no tricks. But let me emphasize on how dirty everything was I can only imagine the kitchen. Save yourself the bad experience and go somewhere else (if you want hibachi) the sushi wasn't as bad. read more

I have been here a couple times already. It was recommended by one of my co worker who orders delivery very often. I decided to check it out. I went with my boyfriend on a Sunday when they were opening. The server was very nice and attentive. I ordered the California deluxe roll. It was to die for!! The taste was incredible and the fish dynamite that is on top of the sushi is the best. The next time I went I ordered the Miami Heat roll which is apart of their special of the day. I went ahead and added the fish dynamite on top of the roll because it was so good from the previous time I went. The Miami Heat roll is my, by far favorite roll! Ended up coming here last minute for dinner. A friend of mine told me that the food here was worth it so I had to see for myself. First thing first the server, Daniella was really helpful as to what I may or may not like being it was my first time here. Now to the good stuff. The Miso soup here is amazing by far the best Miso soup that I've had. In my opinion it's way better than Hiro &' Benihana's soup. We also ordered the "Cajun Booty Roll" which was amazing if i must say and a must order if you decide to drop in. I got the Fried rice which was a lot for just myself, it had shrimp, chicken and steak and a ton of rice.... It was overall delicious and what is expected when I order fried We also ordered the Venus rolls to go which were good as well (we ended up eating them on the way home) The lunch menu looks good as well and there is a few things that I will be coming by to try in the near future. The quality of the sushi here never fails. I usually always order pick up because I live around the corner, but I have dined-in and the restaurant is nice and clean. Service is always excellent. But I definitely wanted to let this venue know that I thought Alicia was very nice and pleasant when I placed my order over the phone. She even took the initiative to add an extra ponzu sauce just incase with out me having to ask. She provided and exceeded great customer service and deserves recognition. The Red Curry Shrimp is usually okay, but this time around I can tell that it was not fresh- perhaps a pot left over from a day or so as it was on the weekend when I ordered. The place is always clean, if you go during weeks days at Lunch time it might take longer to be served as there are many offices in the area but during the weekends it will be much faster. From start to finish, our one and only experience at Nami in Miramar was dissatisfying in every aspect. A more appropriate term to describe it would be dreadful! Our party of three was sat and greeted immediately, at which time two of us put in an order for miso soup. The other took a minute or two to choose his soup, but couldn't find the waitress for a good 5-7 minutes in this small establishment in order to inform her of his choice. The miso soup was over-the-top salty - indicative of what is likely to be too much use of miso paste and adding more slat on top of that. We inquired about the difference between the ingredients and sizes of the garden as opposed to house salad as the three of us were considering sharing the garden salad since the menu stated "large salad," but we didn't know if it would be better portion and/or price wise to order three house salads. The waitress just kept saying yeah, yeah, you want the garden salad?". We tried several times to explain our questions/concerns, but she was apathetic and/or was in too much of a rush to listen. We went for the garden salad and an agedashi tofu to share. The garden salad was a decent size for the three of us. It turned out that it included broccoli, as opposed to the house salad, which was also a pleasant surprise. However, the ginger dressing was so full of citrus flavor - not ginger or any other flavor - that none of us were able to palate it. We had to concoct our own variation with sriracha and other condiments to dilute the citrus flavor/strength. The waitress had forgotten to put in the order for the agedashi tofu, until we reminded her that we didn't receive it. As it turned out, it was brought after the first to come out and was extremely overcooked. With that being said, the first entree which came out was not only the wrong item (I kept it anyway so as not to waste food), but it arrived with the agedashi tofu [finally] NOT with the other entrees. The second entree was brought out 10 minutes or more after the first and approximately 10 before the third (that's right, 20 minutes to bring out three entrees in a piecemeal fashion). The sushi roll was not only substandard in taste and presentation, but despite the description stating that the tuna was "seared," it was actually well-cooked and tasted like it was straight out of a can. None of the sushi rolls on the menu were very "creative" or out of the ordinary so it is likely that any choice would have been just as fruitless. The udon soup did not have any flavor or a variety of vegetables - it was strictly a couple slices of mushrooms and tofu, and of course some udon noodles (I had ordered an udon noodle plate with mixed vegetables and steamed tofu - not a soup without vegetables). The other entree was a sushi boat - which was beautifully presented, but the taste didn't match up. Without us asking for any courtesy items or discount, the manager took 10% off of our bill (almost $7 - basically the price of the agedashi tofu) for the "inconveniences," which we only brought to her attention when we were missing two entrees and the agedashi tofu appetizer, but such a discount, nor anything else, could make up for our displeasing experience. Upon leaving, we saw that two of the tables which had just been seated were receiving hot hand towels, which aren't important by any means, but are nice. Thus, we wondered why we hadn't received such. We surmized that Nami is a slip-shot operation AT BEST! When the service is bad AND everyone's food is bad, we learn our lesson - never again! read more

This place sucks! I went there twice, months apart. The first time the service was just horrible but I figured maybe I came on the wrong day because it was quite packed. I then went again last week Sunday with my daughters for lunch. It was only 2 other guests seated - we would make number 3! It took the waitress about 5 mins to come over and greet us and take our drink orders. My children both ordered the tempura lunch special and I ordered a few rolls. When they brought my daughters plates to the table they appeared dusty. The waitress assured me it was not dust, it was powdered sugar but refused to lick what appeared to be dust being that she was so adamant that it wasn't dust. For one of my rolls, it was pictured with spicy mayo but she didn't bring that out until I asked for it. She then came back over to tell me that the manager said that was appeared to be dust was not dust but it was in fact the flour that they use to fry foods. I expressed to her that I didn't give a damn what it was. As a paying customer coming to patronize their establishment I should not have to experience dirty dishes PERIOD! Not one time did the manager come over to meet us and apologize for this, the only thing they did was change the plates and I had to get belligerent for them to completely do the food over. By that time I was disgusted so I canceled the whole order at which time the waitress stated that the manager said I would have to pay for a portion of the food because they cooked it. I expressed to them that I wasn't going to pay a dime in which I didn't! I dropped $4 on the table for those sorry drinks and kept it moving. I would never visit this establishment again and if anyone reading this decides to, please make sure your plates, cups and eating utensils are clean. read more

We order from here at least once a month. Ordering is always easy, delivery is always fast, and food is always good. We usually go for pork fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, chicken with brocolli, dumplings, and crab rangoons. No complaints what-so-ever there. Only complaint I slightly have are the prices. Our meals usually end up costing around $40-60, but you can really make the same food at home for less than half the price. But hey, you aren't eating here every single day, it's nice to treat yourself to good food and support a local business. It's also a pain in the butt to clean a wok after you eat a pound of sweet and sour chicken. If you're debating whether or not to give it a try, I urge you to do it. I haven't had any other Chinese food in the area that compares to Nami Sushi. read more

The mango tango roll had cooked Tuna on top which looked like boiled chicken. A better alternative would've been seared tuna. The sweet potato tempura sauce was lacking...they should've used ponzu. I have been eating at Nami's locations for over 20 years. The fish is fresh and have never had anything bad. You will see the owner walking around all locations different days. I am picky about my sushi and eat at only a few in south florida, this being one of the ones I know people that used to sell them fish and have seen their kitchen. Customer service is so bad. They didn't ask me if I wanted my order delivery or pick up. So they assumed what I wanted. Then I told them it was delivery and the rude lady get mad at me and told me I had to tell her from the beginning. What a receptionist. Plus I didn't get right my order, missed additional sauces I ordered. And half of the order was cold. Driver suggested to me to talk to the manager, Amie, which Also had attitude and bad customer service, she said she will send the driver back to bring what's missing in the order, and we waited for almost 40 minutes, then I called back to ask what's going on and that manager told me I had to wait for 30 more minutes to get what's missing.
