Nice fresh restaurant, great decor but unfortunately an overall mixed experience with the food. The food that was freshly cooked was amazing, but other food was clearly reheated and came out as such was not. Try and avoid food that is likely to be reheated. (Aka., Greek potatoes, spanakopita) It's unfortunate, because the rest of the dishes were amazing. Grilled Octopus, chicken souvlaki, lamb chops were great. Saganaki was beautifully prepared and cooked, not too oily, just the way it should be, perfect! Price with drinks was not exorbitantly princely, but not cheap either. I think if they can iron out their kitchen issues around having to reheat some dishes (all dishes should be fresh) and not burn them, it is destined to be one of the best Greek restaurants in town, but until then it's at best 4 stars. Just had brunch, the Greek Benny was so good. Coffee was delicious as was the mimosa. A hidden brunch gem with nice Comfy decor .

Very casual but fancy restaurant. A bunch of us girls arrived at around 630 and we were really the only table there for an hour or so. We got the grilled octopus, calamari, deep fried cheese, tzaziki, beef ragu, roasted lamb shoulder and the moussaka. I've never really had Greek food before and fear after this meal I don't think I will be coming back. I just didn't think it was AMAZING. It was definitely good and I would probably recommend it but probably will not be coming back... All the appies were made to perfection. The grilled octopus was a bit tough but it was expected given by the size. I felt all the appy dishes are pretty fool proof. The lamb plate we had was GIGANTIC. Meat was incredibly tender. Lemon potatoes were nommm as well. Beef Ragu was a bit too cheesy for my liking. Again the beef was SO tender. UGH. Obsessed with the tender meat haha The moussaka was like a Greeks Sheppard's pie. The potato part was good. Egg plant didn't really care much for. I've never had trouble finding parking in this area and its right next to earnest as well (which is where we grabbed dessert thereafter) I didn't LOVE my food but I'm sure others would. read more

Delivery is a second great option, but they need to work on their take out system. The first time I opted for take out, I arrived the quoted time. Unfortunately, I had to wait an additional 20 mins, outside, for them to prepare my order. The second time I did take out, they forgot to pack the salad. Idk if it's my luck, but I'm one of those customers who calls in advance, and tip on take out orders. I hope you have better luck than me. You'll get more bang for your buck if you dine in vs take out. read more

Dined in recently and everything tasted AMAZING, and service was great. Vibe was nice except for there was a group of 6 loud teenagers/very young adults that were pretty annoying and being a bit inappropriate so I was hoping the restaurant may have asked them to behave since we were not in McDonald's. I saw the review and thought I would try the place. Phoned in an order for moussaka and picked it up. After paying I found out I only got a medium size piece and no salad or veg, asis customary. Last Sunday night we didn't wanna cook but didn't want anything boring so we went to Nammos for the first time. From the moment we arrived and walked in through the door to the time we left we were in the best Greek rest in vancouver. Seriously the atmosphere, the staff, the decor, and then he food. We ordered cocktails, octopus, Greek salad, mousaka and the mini souvlakis for the kids. All the food was cooked perfectly, the food looked and tasted fresh, and everything was super delicious without being salty. You really must try this place. It is above and beyond the old style Greek restaurants that we are used to without losing the familiar flavours. We've been here with large groups, where they put together a fantastic assortment of dishes to be shared family style, as well as a small group of 4. We are huge fans of Greek food and were excited to try this place out, but left a little disappointed. We ordered the dolmathes, spinach rice, chicken souvlaki skewers, lamb chops, potatoes and Greek salad. Pros: -Easy to get a table on a Saturday night with short notice -the chicken, lamb and potatoes tasted ok -fresh salad -cute decor Cons: -everything was generally very under seasoned -the rice was very over cooked and had no texture or flavor -the dolmathes seemed to be canned and bland -very small portions and no "platter" option, So you had to order everything separately which was very expensive. A meal for two came to 90 bucks with no alcohol At the end of the day, I think there are much better Greek restaurants in vancouver, with better value and flavor. read more

I have been looking forward to coming here. The Yelp reviews raved about the octopus . Overall a bit pricey and meh but go ahead and give it a try if you don't believe me :-) Lemon potatoes were waaaaay too lemony . It's like someone poured a bottle of lemon juice then added another splash for good measure . Then the much anticipated octopus came --- overcooked. We were a tad disappointed and sad. Definitely one of the better Greek restaurants! The interior is modern, cool and spacious. They have big lettering along a wall that say 'YIAMMAS' which basically means 'Cheers!' in Greek. I thought it was a cool touch! I tried their lamb dish, and it was delicious! If the Greeks know how to cook one thing well, it is lamb. Boy, they knock it out of the park. I could have had 5 of those plates at Nammod. But I'm a lady, so I just had one. We also tried their fries, zucchini fritters and an eggplant dip. While their fries and eggplant dip was okay, their eggplant dip was a big win. Smoky, delicious, and perfectly spiced, I could have had 5 of those as well. But like I said, I am a lady dammit. Why is society so prejudiced towards women? Why can't I have 5 of those plates? Back to Nammos. Service was good, and price was like any mid-tier restaurant. Authentic! Went to Nammos last night for dinner. It is not on west Broadway, but on Fraser street. Just like in Greece, great restaurants are off the beaten path. First thing we noticed was a map of Greece at the entrance made from broken plates... probably swept up from family celebrations. The room is airy, clean, traditional, yet modern. Should we start with some humus, my friend asked, without looking at the menu. She was disappointed that Nammos does not serve humus. It's a good sign, I told her, authentic restaurants in Greece don't have it on the menu either. Our server suggested we try the fava, a split pea dip that arrived warm, sprinkled with capers, and raw onions and drizzled with olive oil, with grilled pita. That was a refreshing change from the tired old humus. The dishes are served "family style" without all that rice and potatoes usually found in most Greek restaurants, and are meant to be shared. This allowed us to try more items, and we are glad we did. The grilled octopus was very tender, the rack of lamb chops were nicely seasoned and perfectly grilled medium rare as requested. The saganaki which was flamed at the table with Metaxa, and calamari which was served with a beet dip, were as good as we ever had. We also enjoyed the horta, boiled endive, with lemon and olive oil. The young lady who served us was friendly and attentive, without being overbearing, she let us know that all the cooks in the kitchen are from Greece, no wonder the food was so authentic. My first try after reading some positive reviews on this place were a takeout meal for two simple but, IMO, classic Greek side dishes... dolmathes and avgolemono soup. The soup was a bit on the thicker side but after squeezing in fresh lemon juices, it helped. And the flavors were on point! They didn't skimped on the rice or chicken for sure. The yogurt sauce was poured in as a base for the dolmathes but I didn't mind it all. There were 4 pieces for the order of $9. It's definitely not the most bang for your buck type of place but the flavours are there. I am intrigued to try their main dishes, hopefully eating in next time! read more

Ordered through Uber Eats. Four orders of souvlaki were combined into two that barely made one portion each. Did not come with the usual sides of rice, salad, potatoes, pita. Came with a form of bulgar tabbouli instead, swimming in olive oil. Not traditional. Very greasy. Had to order potatoes on the side. $50 for tiny, overpriced, lukewarm, portions, and zero leftovers. Even the prawn souvlaki photos are misleading, they show five per skewer when you only get three. I was going to give one additional star for taste, as clearly they're going for fancy, but it was also salty, and the other reviews are so skewed in their favour. "Greek tapas" clearly means "ripoff." If you want down to earth Greek, go to Ramie's in Burnaby. Not fancy, huge plates, tasty. read more

We went here last night for a birthday party. I've been here before, so I knew what to expect. They have a nice set up, very modern and simple; it works well with the restaurant lay out. We ordered Calamari, tzatziki, and Dolmades for appetizers. The calamari was fantastic, and they give you this beat based dip, which is different but delicious. The Dolmades have never been a favourite of mine, but my girlfriend is vegan so she ordered them. The tzatziki was delicious, warm bread, tasty dip, just smal portioned. For entree we both ordered the lamp, which was hearty and delicious. It falls off the bone, had great consistent taste and was a HUGE portion. It comes with Greek potatoes and dip. WOULD RECOMMEND. Easily one of the best Greek restaurants in Vancouver. They're relatively new, so I would recommend it. Good price and good vibes. Upside, there's an earnest ice cream next door! read more

Kinda meh. Showed up at 4PM on a Sunday, place was empty, but plenty of staff around. Still, took most of 10 minutes for someone to come by with menus and water, and another 5 for drinks. Food was well-priced, particularly since it was happy hour. Sadly, almost everything was mediocre. Lamb chops were brutally overcooked, as was the spanakopita and the meatballs. The room was nice, but oppressively cold. It was a nice day out, but for some reason they decided to crank the AC to 11 forcing us to all wear our coats and hoodies which we weren't wearing outside. We came here in a mixed group of picky eaters, some of us don't eat meat, some don't eat dairy, some are allergic to fish. Everyone left barely able to move. The servers were accommodating and punctual. We ended up eating almost tapas-style as we would order and share a couple of dishes at a time, so the servers staying on top of things was great. There were a couple different kinds of bread that we got with our food - some lavash, some sourdough to soak up the mussels juice and some pita. All of it was fresh, soft and delicious. I don't eat meat but I eat bivalves, and these were the best mussels I've ever had. My omnivore friends had to go for seconds and thirds on the lamb chops. Oh and get a Greek Salad - husband and I were in Greece for three weeks in the fall, and Nammos' salad was indistinguishable of what we had there. Dolmades were actually not my favorite, I like them a little less soft/soggy, but my friend who isn't normally a huge Dolmades fan thought they were on fleek. Smoked eggplant appy was another huge hit with our party. Will be bringing friends here, would definitely recommend pretty much regardless of dietary preference. read more

Had few cocktails, the famous eggplant dip with pita bread, calamari, beef pita wrap and the seafood pasta. Everything is pretty good though I would prefer not much salt on the calamari. The taste is just right not too heavy nor too light. I did find the plates were not very clean. Could have some improvement on that. Service was good but later it got busy and kinda hard to get our server for the bill. Overall, it was a pleasant visit. Will be back again for brunch! read more

My boyfriend threw me a surprise birthday party here with 17 of our friends and family. The customer service was great throughout the whole dinner, the food and drinks were absolutely amazing and we will definitely be back many times. The staff is just so pleasant to interact with and on top of that, you can really taste the quality in their menu. Thank you Nammos for a great night!! 10/10 recommend this place. It's great to see a nice Greek restaurant fill this spot after so many other restaurants have come and gone in this space over the past decade. We decided to give Nammos a try for take out after hearing good things from some friends and wanting a solid Greek takeout option in Fraserhood so we don't have to drive to Broadway or beyond. For 3 people we ordered 6 plates: Tzatziki (with pita), Lemon Roasted Potatoes, Greek Salad, Beet Salad, Misi Kota (1/2 roasted chicken), Garlic Prawns. The food is very good, flavorful, and fresh. Just wish there was more of it. We were all left hungry after finishing everything. Maybe eating in at this place is better so you can order more if still hungry. read more

I stumbled across the restaurant on uber eats and was intrigued. I noticed that some of the dishes had incorrect descriptions so I check their online menu which was correct. Their food looked enticing so I went forward and called the restaurant directly. I had the pleasure of speaking with Petros and notified him of the errors on Uber Eats. He was delightful to speak with and very helpful. He walked me through the menu to ensure I got the dishes I desired when I ordered off the site. He provided excellent friendly service and made me feel like I was a guest at the restaurant vs on the phone. Once my ordered arrived it was apparent how much time and care was put into creating the dishes. My lamb was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. It was paired with the best tasting potatoes in a wonderful lemon sauce I have had since my grandmothers when I was a child. The salad was fresh with a huge chunk of beautiful dense creamy feta on top. Everything was just perfect, I could rant all day about all the dishes I received and their generous portion sizes. Honestly astounded in the quality and care put into their food, and that it didn't loose its integrity despite being delivery. I cannot wait to order here again, and hopefully dine there in person. A group of seven of us booked a table at Nammos on Monday night. We were all incredibly impressed by the food, atmosphere and the service. I think it's the best Greek restaurant that I've been to in Vancouver. All of the dishes were fresh and extremely delicious. Our server was Shaharazade and she was excellent. Friendly and professional, she made sure that we all enjoyed our dining experience. She really was fantastic and so was our bus person, Ben. He was very attentive to the table and everyone in our group loved him. Such a nice young man! It was my first time to Nammos, but we will definitely be back. The only recommendation I would make is that we all would have loved to hear authentic Greek music being played and for the music volume to be a bit lower. I'm really loathe to write bad reviews. But people need to know. Despite a nice atmosphere and good servers/staff the food is poor.

Friendly excellent service and food a notch above normal until the end of what was a wonderful experience. Ordered the baclava and in-house frozen Greek yogurt. The frozen yogurt was full of ice crystals which we brought to the servers attention when she came out to check on us. She said she would let the chef know. When the bill came we were disappointed to see no bill adjustment and no offer to either remove the $12 or even just cover the coffees. Just that she had let the chef know. I still recommend this restaurant as everything else was terrific. But if something is wrong make it right! read more

We went to celebrate a friends birthday. I wish I could review this restaurant on two things. The food was decent and service was good, generally a 3.5-4 stars easy. However the reason I will NEVER be returning is the attitude and service which we recieved from the owner's son. Our meal was a set menu due to the size of our party (this was not the issue). The set menu is set for groups of 4, we were a group of 13. This was made clear when the reservation was made and so we assumed that since we were going to be charged for 13 people that we would have been accommodated for 13 people. When we noticed this wasn't the case, we inquired about it and we were told that the menu was set for 4 people and we would be recieving the regular portion sizes for the set menu for 4, multiplied by 3. To my understanding this should mean that we are recieving 12 portions and should thus be charged for 12 people, yet we were still told we would be charged for 13. When we brought this to the attention of management, we were made to understand that they understood our concerns and would be charging us for 12. At the end of our meal when we recieved the bill, we noticed we were charged for 13 people. When brought to the attention of the management they responded that "your concern was that there would not be enough food, well there was more then enough food". I'm not sure about you, but this was never our concern. We are not a group of big eaters and we easily could have shared a meal for 4 between 8, but does that mean you should charge me for 8? The principle of the matter was and is that you are asking me to pay for 13 what you would serve for 12 and charge for 12 if I only had 12 people. The manager's response at this point was "...I'll charge you for 12 if that will make you happy" (evidently that is not what will make me happy but it is what is fair). He proceeded to leave without a real end to our concern or conversation. He then proceeded to take the bill, make changes and never returned to address the real issue at hand, you can't charge for 13 just because there are 13 people if you are still serving the same portions you would have for 12! read more

Small portions, expensive, everybody in the restaurant not friendly, or pretend to be friendly and most of all automatic charge of 18% service charge for a party of 6. I wouldn't be surprised if I see it closed in the next year or two. If they don't, I would be sad knowing how many customers they have ripped off. But for sure they will only have first timers. The greek salad was pretty good and fresh.Calamari were good but a beet dip instead of tzatziki.When the roast lamb came I asked if it was a neck piece,the guy said" no it's a shoulder piece" but it was all vertebrae and fat,little meat for 24 bucks!!!.Nice enough flavour on the bits of meat I did get.Way better value and a full platter at other places.Service was ok.
