My sister and I both got our drinks lightly sweetened and we both enjoyed them as well. The lychee oolong tea was not as much lychee as I usually taste in the tea, but likely because I got zero sugar. I've gotten zero sugar before and still tasted a lot of syrup, but definitely tasted more tea here. Boba was good, not too chewy and not bland. My sister had the matcha mochi with fresh milk and said it was a little heavy on the mochi for her, but others may like it! Cute little place near Koreatown in Manhattan. The menu consists of mochi milk teas, classic milk teas, fresh milk, oat milk with cheese foam, and a few fruit teas. I'll admit the menu was a little confusing and I'm pretty sure I ordered the wrong thing. There was a Taro Milk Tea/Fresh Milk on the menu which is what I ordered - I thought that meant it was a regular taro milk tea made with fresh milk (I'm used to milk teas made with nondairy milk, but in this case I thought the fresh milk would be fine since it seemed to be a specialty on their menu). What I got instead was taro flavored milk which is not what I expected. There wasn't any tea in it and it basically tasted like regular milk with a hint of taro flavor. Personally I am not a fan of whole milk, and while I can tolerate it as an add-in with other drinks, it's never my top choice. That said, I did think the fresh milk had good flavor. It tasted like high quality milk, much better than dairy milk from the grocery store, but it just wasn't what I was looking for. The service was quick and friendly enough. There might have been a bit of a language barrier that caused some miscommunication about what I was ordering. Cute new boba spot near Ktown! They opened up just about two weeks ago. This is mainly a takeout spot, but there's a small bench that could probably fit a couple of people. The inside is tiny but feels very cute, clean, and modern. I'm a sucker for cute logos so I ended up buying a boba and a reusable mug on my first visit. The milk foam taro mochi milk tea was recommended as one of their signature drinks, so I was happy to give that a try. They use real taro instead of powder, just as FYI. The taro was very well mixed and not chunky like other stores, so I think this was really enjoyable. It's a small shop with just enough room to order and wait for your drinks. There was only one person behind the counter, and I can only assume they were the owner. I felt so welcomed; they told me to take my time looking at the menu while making conversation asking me how I came around to finding the store (they opened 3 weeks ago!), and even gave me a free sticker with the logo on it. Immediately after I said I'd be ordering six drinks total, they pulled out their stamp card which had a deal where you could get your 5th drink for half price, and they automatically added the reward to my order which was extremely nice of them. We ordered (rating): Creme Brulee Mochi Milk Tea (3.5/5), Taro Mochi Milk Tea (4/5), Taro Mochi Milk Tea with Boba (3.75/5), Matcha Latte with Red Bean (4/5), Rose Milk Tea with Red Bean, Creme Brulee Brown Sugar Milk Tea with Boba (4/5) The drinks took around 10-15min to make, but I could tell that each drink was sincerely made with so much care. Even when a few more customers started coming in, they still took their time whisking the matcha up, lining cups with mochi, and making sure each drink was made correctly with all the right adjustments. When they were caramelizing the sugar for the creme brulee drinks, they invited me to watch and smell the sugar, and they made sure I knew to mix the drinks up (especially the ones with mochi and taro), and how to drink the creme brulee drinks (sip some of the topping first before mixing - a tip I've never gotten before!). Their signature is the mochi topping, which they told me themselves that you can't get at all stores. This fact, objectively, is definitely true, but my first mochi topping experience was literally so horrific that I couldn't bring myself to get it again. BUT I ended up trying my sister's mochi and it was actually much better here than it was at the store I got it at last time. It's a super interesting topping, specifically in terms of texture - I think it's a tossup in terms of whether or not people would like it or not. It's kind of like what you get when you eat grass jelly, but the mochi is chewier with the slightest bit of sweetness. I liked that it was thin, so it wasn't overwhelming when sucked up the straw. Now that I know what it tastes like, I'd definitely get it again and would recommend it to anyone who wants to try something different! Unfortunately the boba fell short. Size-wise, you can expect a boba that's slightly smaller than the average boba size, and they were too soft for our liking. My sister liked her boba more after it had firmed up in the fridge. I think this store should also work on its ratios. I saw them literally with a scale, measuring out exactly how much mochi and boba to put in the cup, but the ratio of topping to drink was off, specifically for the red bean. I also ran out of boba earlier, but people tell me I'm a boba vacuum so I may not be the best data point for this. To note about the teas themselves! I ordered the creme brulee brown sugar milk tea, and I'd say it was a pretty standard milk tea. The tea reminded me a lot of Gong Cha's regular milk tea. You can't go wrong, but I love when original milk teas have a bit of something extra that's unique to that store. The taro milk/milk teas are all made with fresh taro, which was surprisingly easy to blend into the drink (usually my big thing with fresh taro is that it's insanely hard to blend), but the flavor of the taro was less strong than other fresh taros we've had. BUT overall we love a fresh taro. I also can't let this end without talking about the price because you definitely feel this like a hole drilled into your wallet. $7+ is the kind of price I've basically gotten used to in NYC when buying boba, but it doesn't make it hurt any less. This isn't a chain, so I definitely get it, but it's just something to be aware of. Super grateful for the hospitality and service! And we'll be back to try some of their other drinks! read more

Small hole in the wall shop I came across from wandering around. I would say skip the Koreatown type and come here for some amazing, refreshing bubble tea. I regret getting the rose bubble tea and not something more traditional like taro. Their tea is incredible. They put real edible roses that added so much flavor. We looked for a boba shop nearby after dinner and found this cute place! The logo is incredibly cute and the owner was so friendly. They're known for their mochi milk teas, which I haven't seen anywhere else. Most boba shops are more or less about the same, but the mochi milk teas really stand out! We tried the taro, creme brûlée, and black rice mochi milk teas all 50% sweetened. The mochi isn't really what you think it would be. I thought it would be chewier, but the consistency is probably closer to that of pudding? It's really unique and difficult to describe, which means you should try it yourself! We got the lychee fruit tea with boba and lite ice. We should have gotten the drink with a lot of ice as it was strangely hot at the bottom. Wanted to try a new bubble tea place, it's a 4 min walk from the main street of ktown. They have a pretty extensive menu. I decided to get the black rice mochi milk tea and really liked it. The texture of the mochi is a bit thick which I like and it adds sweetness to the tea as I got 30% sugar. The drink was made precisely with a scale. I walked 15 blocks in the rain specifically to try their taro fresh milk with mochi. I love a good fresh taro drink and this didn't disappoint. It was lightly sweet, smooth, and delicious. The one disappointment was the mochi, which mostly congealed into one sticky glob at the bottom of the cup and was very difficult to suck up with the straw. When I did manage to suck some of it up with all the force I could muster, it flew straight down my throat (get your head out of the gutter). Overall, not the most pleasant experience. I was so excited for the mochi but honestly found myself wishing I had just gotten regular boba instead. The guy inside was very nice and made my drink super quickly. I haven't written a review for anywhere in a while but the experience that I just had was very refreshing! To start with basics, I love the selection of toppings and variety of customizations you can make to your drink. I got the fresh fruit tea (strawberry) and it had REAL strawberry, which we love & appreciate so much. The boba has nice firmness while still being easy to chew. Overall, I really enjoyed my drink. Now what sets this place apart from other boba places in the area... my drink was so carefully & thoughtfully made. I watched the worker make it and she just put a lot of love into every step of the process which I feel like I never see. So that really stuck with me and I hope other people can enjoy that type of experience here read more
