We frequent Nando's and love their food. You get a large portion and complimentary chips. Yesterday afternoon we went for lunch/dinner and the service was slow, it took nearly 30mins to get our food after ordering. (It wasn't super busy either; there wasn't a wait to be seated) Also, I asked for a substitute and they up charged a ridiculous amount without advising, which is disappointing. I spent about $20 on a $12ish Chicken Flauta meal all because I asked for a side salad, which was literally only lettuce and shredded cheese, instead of the rice and beans and queso on my flauta instead of guac, sour cream, or cream cheese. --that's my normal meal there and normally they sub for no additional charge, just depends on the waiter I guess. Took over an hour to get our food. My daughters kids meal quesadilla and rice were ice cold. The 3 carne asada burritos were overloaded with sour cream. Not once were we asked if we wanted a refill. Service here is good. Friendly staff. Food is good. I ordered a pork tamale, cheese enchilada and rice and beans. The tamale was a good size and had Verde sauce on it (my favorite), the enchilada was covered in cheese and red sauce. Flavors were pretty good. Pork was cooked perfectly in the tamale. The rice and beans are good, nothing phenomenal, but still delicious carbs. The margaritas are delicious. I had a melon Margarita, which I believed to be honeydew (I assumed it would most likely be cantaloupe). It was green, tart, not too sweet and good strength. I tried a mango Margarita as well. It was more sweet than the melon one, delicious mango flavor to this. Fresh and yummy! They have a kids menu that is pretty good. My five year old like the grilled cheese and fries and my older daughter liked the bean burrito. We had fun and ate ourselves silly. Good time! read more

We have been going to Nando's for family events and they always treat us nice, provide excellent service and great food. We have used the Hideaway banquet room and it is wonderful. I always get the green chili burro enchalada style and love it. read more

Oh god! No!! Terrible!! No flavor in the food or drinks! The margharitas were sooo weak!! Everyone I know who has gone hated it!! Came for a quick breakfast bite and a mimosa. Beans and tortillas. CANNED beans. MIssion brand thick flour tortillas. "Manager" came out and argued with us. Swore on her father's grave the beans were not canned. I'm checking the trash. They are canned beans. So disappointed. read more

Nando's has some really good dishes and an atmosphere that is not typical of East Mesa........it's actually fun. The number one item on the menu is the Pollo Rico. I won't describe it, just order it. It's delicious. Gets a little crowded at the bar early with the old Las Sendas people that, for some strange reason, think they are the true upper crust of America, but push them out of the way and find a seat at the bar, where you will get good service. read more

Food is terrible - tastes like the cook is a smoker (too salty). Not very authentic either. Went one time for Happy Hour & figured I'd get a quesadilla along with my drink. Couldn't even finish that - it was just gross. Drinks are nothing to write home about either (although in all fairness, I don't usually do margaritas). Called in yesterday to order a take out of my usual eat in. Hostess over the phone asked what kinda sauce I wanted with the El hefe. Wow, I've never been asked, so I said red and extra sauce if they could do it. Low and behold, red sauce buck fifty. Extra sauce buck fifty. Took food back for a refund. Don't ask for upgrades if you don't say it costs more. It may be extra money if you get people to add on to their order, but let them know ahead of time. read more

This amazing 5 stars from me would be even more surprising if you knew I had been here 4 other times and always found it to be blah. I am a self titled picky eater. I find something I love and never change my order. I have been going to a Mexican Restaurant in Phoenix since I was 9, 46 now and I have ever only ordered 1 thing. Ok back to Nando's. We have always had good service, but it was always hard for me to find somethind good to order. They have updated their menu and expanded their nenu, it seemso me. They havr a great lunch specials menu. Which our lovely waitress pointed out that almost all were on the regular menu, and were the same size as the normal, just discounted. I was amazed as usually it's a "lunch size portion size." She pointed out the fajitas which I believe were 11 bucks on the lunch menu, and 17 normally. I ended up ordering a machaca chimi with beans and rice and the most delicious Pomegranite green iced tea. My chimi waz so stuffed with meat it was slightly hard to saw thru. The meat was tender and delicious, the beans and rice, uh so luscious. The chips they put on the table were cold by the time we went and washed our hands and then found our selections. Even though I'm sure they we're better warm, they were so tasty cold that there was not a chippie left in the bowl! Our waitess was so on top of the lunch rush, but we never felt like she was being rushed or rushing us. Hubby asked if I'd go back again and I said h@!! Yes! I would give them a try! read more

We have a 2nd home in Mesa, AZ and are there AT LEAST once while we visit. The place is always busy with patrons, food comes out hot, service is great, clean atmosphere, etc... My Favorite dish: El Pollo Rico (Chicken) has 2 mini chimichanga like wraps with lettuce, tomato and Jalapeno cream cheese on it (the best part) plus beans and rice on the side. ABSOLUTELY DELISH! The Sopapillas are "to die for". We also like the Mango Margaritas which are amazing and refreshing on those hotter summer days! Great food, but... Made reservations yesterday for a large party tonight. Reservation was accepted and I was asked to call again to to confirm today, which I did. Tonight everyone arrived right on time at 7:00 PM and we were told there was no room to seat us and there would be a one hour wait! Why accept a reservation if you don't intend to keep the reservation? Just tell us you can't do it and we'll call somewhere else. Now we're considering leaving, certainly not waiting an hour. Next year's Thanksgiving Eve dinner will be somewhere else. Two stars because the food really is good. Reservation keeping sucks! read more

Nandos is an amazing place. Let's start with the atmosphere, the place was amazingly put together. It was around 7 P.M. and it was set up quite nicely. The first thing we noted before being sat down was the middle of the room had a nice Christmas lit center piece, it gave more of a unique fashion to the restaurant. We got greeted right when we walked in, and we got sat very shortly after wards. The nice thing about it was the speed at which we were greeted and also the speed at which we were sat. It was busy but they managed to keep a positive attitude. After we were sat we had our waiter instantly greet us and had him take our drink order. While we were chatting about just daily life, we saw our waiter was busy and in a great manner another waitress brought us our drinks. It was rather a nice gesture to see the lengths they would go to keep the customers happy, that when one waiter was busy another would step in to help out. The drinks were to up most perfection, not too much or too little ice. My iced tea was good and my friends soda wasn't flat, both very cold and good. About 2-4 minutes after we had ordered are drinks he came back and asked if we were ready to order or if there was anything he could help us with. This was our first time there and he went over the menu with us as we didn't know much about what they had to serve. After a short discussion and his helpful hand we ordered Shredded Beef with lettuce on the top and a side of beans, as well two chicken tacos with a side of rice. He said thanks and he took our order to the back to put it in, and he said it shouldn't take more than 15 minutes for our food to be out. Seeing as the speed of the restaurant and the friendly service this far was amazing, we weren't overall worried with how long the food was going to take. It was nice to just relax and talk while we had a nice waiter on top of everything. Every time our drinks got low enough to be refilled he was there, he constantly stopped by to ask if there was anything else we needed or if we needed more chips and salsa. About 15 minutes later our food came out, and we could see it steaming off the plate meaning it was cooked very fresh. When it arrived he gave it to us and told us to enjoy our meal. My meal consisted of the shredded beef and the lettuce on top, the beef was actually quite tasty and the crisp fresh lettuce on the top also made the beef more flavorful. The beans on the side complemented both the beef and lettuce and they were also very hot and looked delicious. Her meal consisted of the two chicken tacos with a side of rice, the chicken tacos were a little burnt but just tiny parts of the shell. The chicken inside topped with lettuce and tomatoes was superb, the chicken not to hot and it was overall cooked great. The rice was also hot and fresh. Overall Nandos did an amazing job including the speed at which they served , the greeter was quick and on top of sitting us very quickly, and the waiters were very friendly. The food was delicious, hot, and fresh. The decor of the entire place was also laid out nicely. I would easily recommend this place to any and all, it's great for taking a friend out or if you want a nice family dinner with great respect and speed this is the place for you. read more

Visited Nandos with some friends (who go there regularly) and was impressed. The decor is typical, nothing outstanding, but nice. The food was very good and served in good sized quantities. We are so excited to find good Mexican food. We really love the flavors. We've been twice now. The first time was perfect our waiter was attentive and helpful. Wth second time not so much. We went last night and end up having to ask the busser for drink refills. More than once. It may have been because we were on the patio this time but disappointing in the waitress. My cousin's usual "hole in the wall" Mexican restaurant does not serve beer, so we decided to try Nando's because it was close and we wanted beer after a 6 hr drive back from LA. Lucky we were not in a hurry because the service was slow considering the restaurant was not busy. We had to ask twice for our beer and three times for additional salsa! Fortunately the food was better than the service. I had Alfredo's Green Chile Pork. The Hatch green chile sauce was great. However, the whole beans were a bit "crunchy" for my liking. Came in on a friday after work, 10 minute wait not bad. Got seated and ordered my food. I ordered the enchiladas and asked for it to have little cheese on top because they ALWAYS pack it with way too much. When my food arrived it was still overly loaded. Not happy with the service. We've been going to Nando's regularly for over a year, and my wife and I always get the same items. If you have never tried Hatch Green Chili food, you MUST try the E combination burro with Hatch chili (with pork) and green sauce. To really make it an experience, order a Nando's well margaria to go with it. There is something about Hatch chili that just makes your frustrations melt. The food here is consistent and consistently good, one of our favorite restaurants in the Mesa area (and we are picky)-this Nando's location is very consistent and worth trying for the Hatch-infused food! Not sure what the appeal is to this place. I went in with my kids and ordered fish tacos. I was given two dry, plain corn tortillas with two pieces of dry, plain, unseasoned fish. No sauce, no lettuce, pico, guac...nothing at all. I scooped my beans and rice in there and used the salsa that came with the chips to drown it all in. I left wondering wtf I paid for. Fish tacos across the street at Del Taco tasted better. I don't recall what the kids ate, but they asked to stop at Jack in the Box on the way home, so that tells you something right there. I was a little worried as there were a few bad reviews. I had a very positive experience. The food came out hot, the service was great! I ordered a drink and they clearly specialize in margaritas, which makes drink ordering difficult for me as I'm allergic to tequila. Our waitress helped me customize a drink for me, she was so helpful. The food came out hot and it was delicious! Even got a free birthday ice cream! Will be back again soon! read more
