I heard the food was excellent, but not so much at the Krog St. location. The chicken wings came out whitish with some red sauce on it which was visibly not done. One piece of chicken was a little charred, but after biting into it, it was chewy. I returned it back only for them to recook the same chicken, including the chicken I bit off and returned the same French fries that had gotten cold on the same plate. I knew it was the same plate because you could see where the chicken was slid off the plate and the trail of sauce off the plate. The flavor of the sauce was good, and the French fries were good and hot before sending the food back. I will try again, but a different location. read more

We had such an amazing experience at Nando's Peri-Peri that we ended up coming back twice in the same day--and that should tell you everything you need to know! This was our first day trying it, and after lunch, we knew we had to return. The food is incredibly flavorful, truly unlike anything we've had before. For lunch, we shared the Rainbow Bowl, and for dinner we came back for wings (half BBQ, half mango lime marinade--SO good), a chicken Caesar salad wrap, Brussels sprouts, and their chips (fries). Everything was delicious, fresh, and generously portioned. The drinks were also a highlight--both the non-alcoholic and alcoholic options were refreshing and well-crafted. But what really made the experience special was the service. Kiran was such a sweetheart--kind, attentive, and just a joy to interact with. And another team member (possibly a manager) went above and beyond when they were out of shredded chicken. He had the kitchen substitute thigh meat for the Caesar wrap, and it turned out amazing. That level of care really stood out. All in all, this is a 10/10 experience (even if it's technically 5 stars!). The first time, I got my food to go; the second time, I ate in because yes, it's that good. My favorites so far: The ¼ Chicken Meal I got the Lemon Herb Chicken with fries and PERinaise (which I definitely spelled wrong in my head, but you know what I mean --that mayo-based sauce that's AMAZING). I love dipping my fries in it! On my first visit, I chilled at the bar while waiting for my food, and the young lady at the register was super nice. She recommended the Passion Fruit Frosé, and it did not disappoint especially if you like frozen drinks. On my second visit, they finally had the Peri-Peri Chicken Wings (they were sold out the first time), and they were worth the wait. I got six wings with fries. The staff here is always friendly and attentive, checking in to make sure you're good. One of them even encouraged me to download the app so I could start earning points which I did! They are especially known for their flamed grilled peri-peri chicken. This restaurant is located upstairs in a building, so be mindful of that. The inside has vibrant colors and a decent amount of seating. You can place and pay for orders online and the food comes out in a timely manner. We got the Red Wine Sangria, Peri Peri Chicken Bowl, Garlic Bread, and 1/2 Chicken with Peri Chips and Portuguese Rice. The Red Wine Sangria is pretty sweet and has cut fruit in it! It had me feeling a bit buzzed by the end of my dinner. My boyfriend really liked the Peri Peri Chicken Bowl and called it an elevated Chipotle bowl, haha. The Garlic Bread tasted like classic garlic bread, which was yummy. I was a big fan of the 1/2 Chicken! The chicken is so juicy and flavorful and I loved that it is flame grilled. The Portuguese Rice was delicious as well and paired well with the chicken, although I wish it came in a bigger bowl. The Peri Chips (also known as French fries) were lengthy, but tasted typical. However, inside the tables are packed close together and it's quite loud, and I'm not somebody who is normally bothered by this. Service was bad, which is saying something as it's already self service for drinks, silverware, and extra sauces. But they gave us a 10 minute estimate for our food, and half it came out around 15 minutes and half around 20. My food was supposed to be extra hot and was not, although still tasty. Somebody came to check on us at some point, but we also had to flag someone down to get a to go box as that seems the one thing they don't have self service on. And judging from what was happening to the table next to us we we weren't the only ones experiencing issues. Pet peeve, when you order, on your phone, at Nando's they ask for tipping like it's a full service restaurant. We made the mistake of ordering individually rather than doing a group order so our meals were served at different times. While that was our mistake, it still took a long time for the first meal at our table to be served. I was happy with the taste of the food once it arrived though. The chicken was tender, juicy, and flavorful. I ordered medium spicy but it wasn't hot at all for me. I'd definitely go for a hotter level next time. I paid extra to get a total of two sides with my meal (it only comes with one by default) and extra again for premium sides: brussel sprouts and mac and cheese. The brussel sprouts and macaroni were both excellent but my second gripe is that I had way less mac and cheese than one of my cousins who also ordered it. The wings were grilled and cooked well; however, I feel that they could have been seared with the sauce on them and tossed in the sauce again after they were done to entire ample sauce coating. We also ordered the peri chicken rainbow bowl with the lemon & herb chicken breast. You are given the option to order chicken breast or chicken thighs. I opted for the chicken breast because I assumed it would be about the size of two thighs; however, it was not. One of the servers heard me say this and brought out another lemon & herb chicken breast and I was so thankful! The customer service here was definitely top tier and the restaurant stayed packed! When we arrived at noon, there was no wait, but when we left around 3pm, there was an hour and 15 minute wait to be seated at the restaurant, so it's definitely a hot spot right now. So back to the lemon & herb peri chicken breast rainbow bowl: it was absolutely delicious. I loved the lemon & herb seasoning and also the hummus and rice. It was absolutely perfect. This was my first time trying Nando's, my partner has had it in the past and he said it was pretty good. We arrived fairly early on a Saturday (12:30ish) so there wasn't a wait, however, when we left about an hour later there were a few people waiting and several more getting off the elevator to go there. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and made some suggestions, which was super helpful. The establishment is cute, and there's plenty of outdoor seating, which will be nice in the fall and spring. The food was decent. The chicken is well marinated and tender. The sides leave something to be desired though. The fries were a bit soggy and the Brussels needed a touch more love. read more
