I ordered delivery through grubhub because when I tried their site, they didn't recognize my address, which meant menu prices for the items we ordered were about 20% higher than their standard prices. While we have two other peri peri restaurants with delicious sauces nearby, they've been charring their chicken a bit too much for us the last few times we had ordered, and we didn't want to deal with the hassle of taking off all the burnt parts for our toddler. My husband and I had had a good dine-in experience at another location of Nando's so with that memory, we ordered from the Oak Brook location: - whole chicken combo in lemon and medium sauces with 2 large sides of mashed peas and mashed potatoes ($38.89 grubhub, $31.59 normal price) - halloumi sticks ($10.19 gh, $8.29) - small coleslaw ($3.69 gh, $2.99) The food arrived hot and delicious, except: 1. The medium sauce chicken had negligible sauce 2. The large sides were less than we expected reaching halfway in volume of the container and close in size to the small side of coleslaw we had ordered I would like to order delivery again, but the two issues we experienced while also paying the 20% higher grubhub prices, not including delivery and service fees plus tip, make it unlikely for us to add Nando's to our regular rotation (3 stars delivery experience). Once you walk in, they greet you immediately, and they definitely take care of you start to finish. Once you're seated, once you decide on your order, you either go to their app, order, pay, and they'll bring it to you or you go to the counter and order pay, then they bring it to you still. Big shoutout to the staff at the OakBrook location, the whole experience top to bottom, left to right and everything in-between was phenomenal. Everyone including Management is working hard while it's busy on a Saturday the week before Christmas but doing things with a smile and kicking butt. As soon as you walk in you're greeted in and asked if you'll dine in or do carryout. I chose carryout went to the register got my meal from my yelp perks and ordered some additonal things for the family. The lemon and herb was soooo good on the chicken. I've been hearing rave reviews of Nando's since I got to Chicago. I finally tried it by splitting the medium full chicken plate with some friends. We got the cauliflower, rice, and an extra side of fries with peri-naise. The chicken was very juicy and just spicy enough. The rice was pretty mild but perfectly cooked. The cauliflower was good, but nothing to write home about. The best part of the meal was undoubtedly the perinaise, which was the right blend of creamy and bright. Great attentive service multiple times staff checked on us. To be honest I went to Nando's a couple of years back initial time was amazing then the second time chicken was bone dry and rice bland. It kind of depends on the cook but it was this exact same place. But decided to finally come back as the food court is overpriced at oakbrook and the food is gross like cafeteria food. However on a whim decided to give Nandos a third try. Chicken was nicely charred meat was juicy moist and fell off the bone. The rice was fragrant and delicious. The hostess told us 15 minutes but it ended up being closer to 25 minutes. She brought us to our table and explained the ordering process. We placed the order on our phone and the receipt said our order should be ready at certain time when in reality it didn't come till much later. We ordered the full chicken platter with a side of brussels and sweet potatoes. I'm not sure why it came with two bowls of brussels? It was a very decent portion of food perfect for 3ish people. Tried Nando's chicken peri-peri bowl for the first time. It was very good however I also ordered the 1/4 chicken breast entree as well to share. I think I prefer the entree over the bowl. I love Nandos's juicy, citrus-y, spicy chicken with all my heart so I was delighted to see that there was a location just seconds away from my hotel. In fact, I was so delighted that I had lunch and dinner here! If you want to hit this location up, it's in the top level of the mall near the District food court. Purple or red parking lots are the closest. Like all Nando's you order at the counter and grab your silverware, drink and napkins. You food will be brought out to your table. As always I went for the "hot" chicken and as always it was everything I wanted it to be. You have lots of side options - I like the peas, spicy rice or garlic mashed potatoes. I hear their grilled corn is amazing too - I'll try it next time. I also hear that they have amazing Portuguese egg tarts but I was super full - next time. We had some errand to do at the mall, so we visited here for a quick lunch. It was very interesting to use their no-contact style of ordering system. After you get a seat, you can see your table number. You need that number to finish the order. Next, you scan the QR code on the table to go to the menu. Finish your order on your phone with typing in your table #. One of employees came up to our table for a quick question immediately, which shows their ordering system works fast and properly. Our order: Chicken tenders bowl with hummus and mango lime sauce 1/2 chicken with Portugal rice and plain-ish sauce Pineapple lemonade Mango lemonade Mango lemonade was out on that day, so we ended up getting pineapple lemonade, which was refreshing between spicy dipping sauce (garlic, wild herbs, medium, hot, and extra hot) 1/2 chicken was great. So juicy inside and crispy skin outside. I was happy that I chose "plain-ish" sauce. It was not spicy but flavorful just without dipping sauce. Very enjoyable meal. Portugal rice was not dry and easy to eat with a fork. (They did not offer spoons on the counter). It really matches with medium and wild herb dipping sauce, so I would recommend "plain-ish" sauce and getting dipping sauce on the side instead of ordering a spicy flavor. Chicken in the tender bowl was literally so tender and easy to eat. Hummus, roasted red pepper cubes, corns, arugula leaves came with the bed of Portugal rice. This is a healthier choice for lunch time, everything matches really well. So if you feel like salad, I do recommend this item. I respect their well working ordering system and friendly atmosphere. I have no complaint for the meals. If I can nitpick, maybe silverwares on the counter might feel a little icky during Covid time. I underestimated their chicken bowls! I was thinking it would be on the smaller side so I was pleasantly surprised to see how big it was. I ordered the peri-peri chicken bowl and it came with rice, hummus, arugula, corn and roasted tomatoes. You also have your choice of chicken flavor so I ended up doing the lemon herb. A little confusing if you come in the back way which would be through the restroom door LMAO! . Have no fear if you're in this area as I've included a picture and you are very close by!! So because of this coming in through the back way it was a little difficult to navigate to the front area where the host is. Our Uber eats arrived in a decent amount of time so it was still warm fortunately. Nice flavors, everything was well seasoned; very similar to Mediterranean cuisine in my opinion. My disappointment came from the chicken. They gave me 3 of the smallest chicken tenders I've ever seen in my life. I can bigger tenders out of a pack at Walmart! Stopped by for a late lunch here on a Saturday. The place had a decent amount of people dining in. We were were greeted right when we walked in and seated right away. We were hungry so we got the full chicken platter with the two large sides. This whole platter came out in less than ten minutes and was served HOT, in the best possible way. The chicken was cooked perfectly; the skin was slightly crisp and the chicken was moist. We got the mashed potatoes and fries for sides and the potatoes won. They were bursting with flavor, creamy, and not too much garlic. The service here was very friendly and they have outdoor seating which is a plus. The restaurant could be cleaner. There was a lot of litter on the ground and close to the seats outside. They don't offer disposable plates which makes it harder to eat your food. Nonetheless they do have plastic silverware and it was nice seeing the cooks wearing masks and watching your food made in front of you. Was so excited to come back here after a decent experience last month. However, on a Saturday around 6pm it all went to hell. First, there was a 25 min wait to be seated outside. As prompted, I gave the host my number and double checked it twice. However, almost 45 mins later I didn't receive a call so decided to head back. Upon arrival, I was told that the number I had given them went to a pizza restaurant. I said it was fine and we got seated outside (which by now was super open with plenty of tables available). First time here, heard raves about it. The chicken thighs with skin were very tasty, pretty much like El Pollo Loco in my old home California, only maybe smaller, but the skin here wasn't as crispy. Cucumber salad was lame; just cut-up pieces with some pickled onion, but the poppy seed dressing was on the side so not marinated; way overpriced for what it is. This is a great spot for a decently priced dinner in a lovely mall location. It is in the area of the mall where most of the food spots are found. From my visit, this shop appears to be well patronized. The interior was relaxed but well kept. The walk-up-and-order format allowed for quick service as the friendly counter person was quite efficient. The menu, of course, featured chicken with various flavorings ranging from mildly to moderately spicy. I had the Mango-Lime half chicken with a salad and corn on the cob as accompaniments. I enjoyed my dinner quite a lot. The food with drink, tax and tip was a little over $20, which was a reasonable deal. This was my second visit to Nando's, with the first occurring at Streeterville shop. I will look forward to my next opportunity to patronize one of their establishments. read more

Nando's is all about chicken and their chicks are definitely stars. Juicy, succulent, well seasoned, finger licking good chooks! The half a chicken meal comes with rice and two pieces of toast, which makes it a value for money and hearty meal. Both the rice and bread are really good. The venue is spacious and clean. read more
