Despite the person who was seating our party today being completely dismissive and oblivious to the obvious lunch rush going on, the food here is amazing. I went here for the first time and got the 1/2 chicken with Hot sauce and a side of their rice. The food came out within under ten minutes and was absolutely full of flavor. The chicken itself was tender and the skin was crispy yet juicy. Not too oily nor salty. I tried some of our coworkers' fries and they were delicious. There is a little desktop area by the food pickup in between the two drink machines that hold your knives, forks, napkins and a plethora of additional sauces you can try on your food. I was pleasantly surprised as I've heard mixed reviews here but everyone has a different palate to enjoy, I'm sure glad I did. The ambiance is a little dim and you can hear light music playing in the background. The manager and other staff aside from the guy/host(?) that greeted us were top notch. How businesses Change in such a short time! A bad Manager makes a huge difference!!!! 3 months ago I wrote a great review as we had a good experience and all Staff seemed professional and Lovely. Today was truly an intentional deceitful situation topped with a very poor MisMangement Behavior and the woman actually refused to give her name at 16:20pm on August 4, 2024. I hope this would be corrected as we have been Loyal for a couple of yesrs to this Restaurant and Location We had an order for 4 yesterday spendiing $100 and $46 totalling - $146. We had a good time and left, got home and realized we never got the large Corn on the Cob order. I called the Nandis today to address and see if I could get the $4.69+ tax refund for the missing item. This 'Manager' first tried to argue and say she remembers it was a To Go Corn Order- [WRONG!.].then proceeded to mention a Wrong Table number. She, then backed out of that when corrected and said I could pick it up( I live an hour away) ..No apologies for the 'Error'. Sounds like she is used to skipping orders and hopes you do not notice. I will pick it when around there again presenting my Receipt due to their Error. I do not believe she represents this Facility as we have never endured such negligence and an openly rude Staff Member till now. We are longtime fans of Nando's, but this was our first time at this location. I swear the Peri fries are the best here, and my son said his chicken was the best. I mean, it's Nando's it's always going to be great. We come to Nando's for the food, and it was amazing. I got the Rainbow Vegetarian bowl and Peri fries, my son got a 1/4 chicken with fries, we shared halloumi appetizer and olives. He got a blood orange and mango lemonade which was delicious. Nando's Peri Peri is a Portuguese South African restaurant, being recently introduced to South African wines I was eager to try this new restaurant, I'm glad a guest and I did. Walking in I was rather confused, there was no one at the hostess station and we proceeded to the counter, before we made it to counter a man walked over to us and directed us to sit wherever we like, but did tell us to sit in the first booth by the windows. He was polite and did suggest that if the booth by the window is too cold we could sit elsewhere. Ok fine, we sat by the window in a booth whose lights that hung from above seemed a little too close to my head. If the lights were any closer I may have been under interrogation. The server, but he is not a server, so we will call him the host, asked if we had been here before, we hadn't been and he said, "this is how it works". I needed instructions? At a restaurant? He provided us menus and said when we are ready to order, go to the counter, choose your drinks from the fountain have a seat, and your food will be brought out. The cashier who took out order asked what table number we were, table number? My guest and I looked back at the table sitting with our coats in the distance and did not see a table number. She said she thought it was #36. Ok fine. Later we did locate our table number on a little table decoration that was nestled behind the salt shaker and menu. We ordered and were directed to the drink/condiment station which does provide an assortment of cola and iced tea as well as a variety of sauces, in the bottle that looks like a bottle that evoo would be found in. We grabbed a napkin silverware and had a seat. Interestingly enough there is a sink at the well call it the condiment drink station. I don't have anything to say about the sink, its there, that's all. The menu was a variety of chicken, wraps, wings, breasts, what is this? Chicken burger with cheese and pineapple, on a bun and the cole slaw which is what I opted for, out of a choice of a few standard sides, or for a few dollars more I could have chosen a premium side, but there was no need the cole slaw was solid. My guest had a chicken wrap and with the wrap and the burger you get to choose the sauce, five different options from not hot to something about fighting a firery dragon hot. I didn't know what to choose, so I opted for the middle sauce which had enough kick. There is no server so it feels like fast ish food, but it doesn't taste like the food is fast. The menu consisting of mostly chicken does have plenty of choices, if you want chicken. We had a very good meal at a good price. I'll be back. read more

It's hard to please this Texan but I was impressed. The hospitality from your staff was excellent. The Brussel Sprouts were good, however I am a wimp and the red pepper flakes were too much for me. My husband will enjoy them so I'll be sure to get him some when we return. The mashed potatoes were excellent as were the fries. I also enjoyed the salad, it was fresh with a very lite dressing. Tried for first time after coming back from a trip and was pleasantly surprised! Had the peri peri bowl and just loved the sauce and the well cooked juicy grilled chicken. I stopped into Nando's PERi-PERi for dinner and had a very enjoyable meal. Decor: Given that it is a Portuguese + South African restaurant I'm going to guess that the decor is "authentic" to either/both of those locations - I liked it. It was sort of a rustic and eclectic mix that was welcoming and friendly. The lighting is a bit dimmer than other places but it also helps make you more relaxed; there is still plenty of light to see your food, each other, etc. The tables and a handful of booths are nicely spaced and they seem to be able to accommodate different size groups. The chairs are also very comfortable as well! Bathroom: clean and well looked after Staff: Both the host, the cashier, and the food runners were all very nice and inviting. In fact, the host was probably one of the nicest guys I've ever met! My food also came out hot and tasted very fresh, it arrived to the table rather quickly as well. Food: I had the boneless chicken breast (very tasty, grilled!) with a side of Garlic Bread (pretty good). I had the "hot" sauce as it's my favorite, just the righ amount of heat and flavor. Value: The prices are not too bad but the food quality is top notch. Also, the portion sizes are right where I'd like to see them so I was content. The service, as I said, was bar-none. I hate to leave a bad review for this restaurant, because the staff members here are always very kind and helpful. The food is typically outstanding, too. But when I ate here last week, the salad that I ordered was...well, pretty terrible. All of the lettuce was wilted - some of it was straight up bad - and the rest of the ingredients weren't too fresh, either. I ended up scrapping half of it in the trash and not having my hunger satisfied. This is the first time that I've ever had such an awful meal from Nando's, and it's made me hesitant to come back here again anytime soon. This is more of a nitpick, but I also find it strange that while you can request extra dressing in the restaurant, this option isn't available for online orders. Why? Also, the last time that I had a salad delivered to me from this location, it was insanely dry, because the tiny amount that they provide in the cup is not nearly enough. This wasn't a problem at this location until now, and I've avoided putting in online orders from here since then (especially because food delivery these days is expensive enough). To Nando's: Please work on consistently cooking with fresh ingredients and not skimping on dressing! There were maybe 8 different beers for sale. Naturally I went for a Portuguese beer as its a Portuguese restaurant to some degree. There were 2 Portuguese beers available: 1. Super Bock; and 2. Sagre. I asked the cashier for differences, she didn't drink beer and brushed me to a different cashier whom also didn't drink and both brushed me to the nearby male manager whom didn't drink. They said the Sagre was more popular of the 2, which meant to me that I should order "Super Bock" instead. Super Bock tastes similar to Heineken. As I re-evaluated the drink menu I couldn't believe there wasn't a suburban-preference like Miller Lite of Bud Light. So I opted to then try the Sagre, which met the requirements of being a tasteless suburban standby; no wonder it was the more popular of the 2. My date ordered the Seasonal Sangria which she compared to Kool-Aid. The Sangria was almost completely devoid of fruit- nice touch Nando ( /S) ! Yummy food and bottomless dole whip! We've been going to this location since it opened and have never paid for the dole whip for the kids menu. My fiancée and I eat at Nando's quite a bit and we almost always get the same thing because it's consistently good. The thigh chicken sandwich! Wow! But last night we went there and everything was HORRIBLE! The chicken was burnt and overcooked, it smelled like burnt plastic if you every smelled that, the fries were not crispy and horrible and not seasoned like we like it, we ordered on the app for 9pm and we got there at 8:52pm and asked if we can actually change it to dine-in cuz we were hungry. Then the young slender lady with short green hair (at the oak brook location) said that next time I should not order ahead but just being the app so that we get the rewards still and do it at the register. I said thank you and I understand and I was polite about it and told her that we were just hungry and didn't want to wait for it long. Asked if we could get a seat and if we can change it to dine-in. She said she wasn't sure and did not think so because there weren't many tables left. My honey and I looked and the restaurant was only filled max 30% of the restaurant. So much room. So we don't know why she said that. She said we can sit at table 18 and she will bring the food out when it's ready. We wait. We wait. It's 9:05.its 9:10.its 9:15pm. No food. I went to go check at the registers where is our food that she said she would bring to us. It was sitting there and like I said earlier, fries were soggy and not seasoned, chickens were burnt, burnt plastic smell. Worst experience we ever had there and got no apologies, no one checking on us. We were looking forward to our date night and tried to make the best of it but that lady with the short green hair and the cooks just gave 3+ strikes. So disappointing. Nan-No's maybe. We had heard about and seen this restaurant many times and decided to stop in for what we had hoped would be a quick late lunch. The place was not very full and we stood and waited for a seat as directed by the sign. An employee and out and we were sat in a booth and told that we needed to use the QR code to either use the app or the website to order and they would bring our food out. One might assume if a place is requiring you to order online, perhaps WiFi would be provided but that's not the case and so the app and website died a couple times before we got to order. We walked into the restaurant at 3:20pm...hardly dinner or lunch rush times. After finally placing or order for two wraps, two sodas and fries, I got an email saying or order would be ready at 4:01. At 4:16, dying of thirst and beginning to get hangry, I said to my bf 'maybe we're supposed to get the order...?'. I walked up to the counter and looked at the area where food waits under heat lamps to die, and said area was completely packed. One employee was marrying condiments, another sweeping, another looking at their phone....I asked if I was supposed to come get my food and he said "no" and I asked if I could at least get my drinks and 'oh btw, my food should have been ready 15min ago so....' "yeah we're behind" is all he replied and handed me beverage cups. We then see the chef come out to the food dying area and hear her say "these need to go in the microwave they've been out here too long"....huh?! So wait, instead of staying home eating a microwave Trader Joe's lunch taking 10 min and costing $10 I spent $42 on a reheated wrap and fries?! I'm dismayed to say: yes, I did. I will start off this review with the preface that our Country is under a Stay At Home Order do to the Covid-19 Pandemic. So that should be taken into consideration which I understand. My wife and I chose to order and pick up from the Oak Brook Mall location of this chain restaurant. The online ordering advised that the food we ordered would be ready by 7:00 pm. I walked into the restaurant about 7:15 pm or so to get our order. I must say that for the set up the restaurant had for pick up definitely made social/physical distancing simple. I follow the signage to the area for online order pick up and figured I just had to grab our food and off I would go. Got to the table marked N-Z and there was no food. I was not even greeted by any of the staff and it looked as I could see the kitchen like it was total chaos. The woman expediting the orders seemed quite flustered with the orders and barely acknowledged me when I asked about our order stating that she is working on it. One of the cashiers/telephone receptionists came over to help out someone from Door Dash and I asked her about our food that was supposed to be ready by 7:00 pm. It took a couple of minutes and they finally acknowledged that they were working on it. Finally about 7:30 pm I walked out with our food. One half hour after their website told us it would be ready. My wife and I got back home and we got ready to eat. I ordered the Peri Peri Medium Heat 1/2 Chicken with cole slaw and Portuguese rice. The rice was not even warm and really had little to no flavor. Strike Two in my book at this point. I tasted the cole slaw next and that was just as un-flavorful as the rice. Got into the white meat or breast of the chicken and it was quite dry and what happened to the heat? Was not anywhere for me to find. The wing on the breast was burnt and was crunchy yet not as good as one would hope or expect. The dark meat or thigh meat was a little better yet again where was my medium heat? I am someone who enjoys the Carolina Reaper and having no heat when I ordered some was quite disappointing. We also ordered the Peri Peri Wing Appetizer and my wife exclaimed how pathetic in size they were. Again I thought there was supposed to be a little spice and yet there was none. My wife ordered a salad with mango and lime chicken on it and said that she might need a saw to get the meat as it was that hard and dry. My wife who has turned me into a foodie also stated that there was no mango or lime flavor what so ever. The peas she said looked like dog food yet after tasting them she felt the peas were pretty good. My daughter had a sandwich that was supposed to be the lemon herb and it was spicier than she likes which is typically no spice/heat at all. My son got a hind quarter with a side of fries and the fries were a bit soggy like they had been sitting for quite a while. Not a way to make an initial impression on a new customer. Even while waiting a Door Dash customer had called the restaurant inquiring about their meal and it just so happened that the Door Dash driver was there picking up the order finally. Makes me wonder how long that customer was waiting. Overall our experience was not a good one. When you are a restaurant that specializes in cooking an authentic style chicken and you fail at its preparation you are destined to be a failure. It was the first and last time that my family will order from Nando's Peri Peri as there are far better chicken choices out there like Popeye's, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Brown's Chicken or even our local grocery story with either their fried or rotisserie chicken with sides is better than this was. read more

We were seated outside by request. Our food was brought to our table after we ordered at the register. The menu had many options for flavors and spiciness which suited our party well. There were healthy options and "hungry man" options too. It was easy to order and we were treated with kindness. They also have indoor seating (spaced out), sanitizer available and take out too! I'll start by saying the food is tasty. I had expected a different kind of dining experience. I thought it would be a sit down service at the table place but it is much more casual. Sort of like an order at the counter place but instead you order and pay on line at your table, then go and get your own plastic utensils and drinks. Not what I was planning on for a dinner out. Ordering online means there is no one to talk to or ask about the menu and no paying with cash. Metal utensils would have made cutting chicken easier. I wouldn't have been disappointed as much if I knew what this was like. Again the food was very good. Loved the spice. I had chicken with rice and peas. Delicious! It all looked good to me. I would go back and try other items, just not for a dinner and movie date night. read more
