So I got a build your own bowl with chicken, avocado, mushroom farro, big ass carrots & broccoli. This was super filling and absolutely delicious. I got some Joe's tea sweet potato chips to munch on After finishing my meal I was like I do need coffee beans for home. Came in for a quick bite and tried their Farmhouse Latte and Grilled Chicken and Pesto sandwich on Ciabatta. The latte was alright, but I don't see myself repurchasing. The sandwich tho, UGH it was so delicious! The chicken was tender, the sauce was delicious and artichoke was unexpected perfect. The second-to-last time we got food from Nan's, I got an email query from them asking us how we liked it. I replied, "while, since you're asking, I enjoyed the chicken but found it a bit sweet for my taste." Nan's replied, "next time ask for it without the agave syrup." Well last night that's exactly what I did, and I loved loved loved the chicken this time. If you love great fried chicken but shy away from sweetness, follow my example, and you'll be glad you did. Also, I'm not sure if it's my faulty memory, but it seems like (maybe?) they've lowered their prices--at least they seem very reasonable in this day and age. For about the price of a certain famous chain, you get a five-piece box of chicken that is worth celebrating. Admittedly you have to add on sides at Nan's, but the sides are actually good and interesting. Last night we got the shaved broccoli, and it was great. Another tip about sides: make sure you click on the online description to get the full list of ingredients. The broccoli had bacon down the list, which one of our group tries to avoid. Anyway it was delicious and of course far far better than the icky goo you get at certain other places. There's something in us all that only fried chicken can satisfy. If you have that craving, why not get something that's actually good? P.S. It also seems like the lead time required to order fried chicken has been reduced. Now it's just an hour, and I could have sworn it was at least a couple of hours before. All this make's Nan's the only obvious choice. read more

Today's lunch from Nan's was delicious. My tender sliced brined chicken breast was served over a generous portion of farro and lentils. These can be bland grains and legumes, but they certainly aren't after Nan "zhuzhes" them up with olives, peppers, onion, and spices. The roasted golden beets were sweet and refreshing, though I didn't get any blood orange in my serving of beets. Still, I love beets, and they were great despite the lack of citrus mentioned on the menu description. All the sauces I tried were excellent, including the z'houg and tahini. While everything was delicious, it was also quite salty...perhaps it was the cracked olives on many dishes, but even the sauces were very salt-forward. I have been eating here on and off for two years about one to three times a week and I have yet to have a bad meal. Even if they run out of something and substitute it for something else the meal is outstanding. Good clean eating comfort food. I live alone and don't cook so this place has been a lifesaver and keeps me from eating crappy food from one of those chain fast food places. Try it for yourself. We ordered from here for a work lunch, and there were a lot of missing/wrong items from our order, but it was a pretty large one, and the person who was placing the order for us had done so at the restaurant (I think) verbally instead of placing an online order, so I think maybe we overwhelmed the place. One of our coworkers did not receive her lunch :\ The food was really good though! I ordered the chicken thigh bowl, but received a steak bowl instead, and was able to try a side of chicken from someone else's order which was nice and moist and well-seasoned. The steak bowl was delicious and I was able to get small amounts of all of the sauces to try. I really enjoyed the spicy kale and the cucumber and tomato salad that were in my bowl, and would love to try other sides next time. The bowls are reminiscent of Cava bowls. I was really looking forward to trying the chowder and the mud pie, but these were both sadly missing from the order. A couple of coworkers ordered the salmon bowl and some of the fried chicken sandwiches, and everyone loved their food. I also had the golden green tea and it was nice and refreshing. This place changed my entire outlook on life! I'll never go to chic filet again. The chicken isn't just run of the mill chicken, it's steamy, juicy and flavorful! Although the biscuits were good, but $12 for 6 biscuits is tricky - they are good but i wish there was an option to buy just one or two. Same great menu and execution as at their original location in Stow, with the addition of much better parking and a dozen indoor seats to eat while it's still hot. As with Stow, the fried chicken is all anyone talk about--and justifiably so, because it's great--but the real reason to come here is for the sides. All are screaming with flavor, and whether it's from salt or grilling or herbs or oils, (varies among what you get), it's going to be memorable, and more often than not memorably great. Fried chicken can be had in a few different flavors and in a few different presentations (sandwich, side, 5-piece entree, and tenders). All permutations are worth trying; just know that the entree version requires 2 hour advance notice. A great way to get the sides is via the bowls: my wife gets the veggie; I get the salmon (when I'm not getting fried chicken). You get a nice sampling of 3 different sides that way. Favorites include the kale salad, the spicy green beans, the sweet potatoes, the carrots, and (when in season) the apple Waldorf salad. I rarely write reviews, but wished someone had warned me -- Even if you order online 6 hours in advance, they prepare to order. This means that if your pick up time is during a lunch or dinner rush, you're likely to wait half an hour from the time you arrive. We were on a tight timeline and ended up just accepting sides and food (tenders instead of bone-in) we didn't order after 20 minutes had gone by and they weren't able to prepare our original order.
