Located within the Napa Mill Development, it's a cozy, rustic, store/restaurant/wine tasting bar featuring riverfront patio dining, as well as indoor seating. Parking lot at the Main St. entrance, and on street parking at the 5th St. entrance. FOOD: We tried a cup of the soup of the day, Clam Chowder ($8), and their Famous Chinese Chicken Salad ($17), which was delicious. Others in our party had the Napa Caesar Salad ($15.50) with shrimp (+$8), the Chopped Chicken Salad ($21.75), and Chicken Sandwich with fries and aioli dipping sauce ($21.75). To sum it up, no thank you, I won't be coming back. We came on a Friday at about 10:30am and sat inside. While we were given menus, we were then ignored for the better part of 15 minutes. Once we did order, the food came out relatively fast. We each got one of the combos. My boyfriend got the one with pancakes, and didn't like his scrambled eggs, but said the pancakes were fine. I got the combo with the French toast. I'll start with the good, in that the eggs were poached perfectly. The potatoes were fine, though they needed actual seasoning. Came here for a light lunch during my aunts birthday and I'm not going to lie it wasn't the best. On the one hand, it's a general store that serves food so I'm not expecting it to have first class service but I definitely felt like my experience and food fell short. I ordered the "famous" Chinese chicken salad and although the ingredients were great and fresh, the sauce was SO SALTY. I couldn't eat more of it because it was just hard to eat. The waiter also brought out complimentary chocolate malasadas (?) he never clarified what they were just that they were on the house... I found these to be super doughy and not the best. The service was overall disappointing... Upon being seated we noticed the table had place settings for 5 people instead of 6, and we had to keep asking to bring another set of utensils for our 6th person. When the waiter brought out dessert for us he also only brought 5 plates... despite there being 6 of us. I my malasada off a napkin because I didn't want to chase him down. So weird. Someone in my party ordered the Chinese chicken salad with the dressing on the side and when they brought it out it was fully mixed and not on the side. We also had to ask twice for a Diet Coke that was ordered with the initial drinks. We had brunch here after visiting my Grandma nearby. The patio is lovely with blooming pomegranate trees in early fall. The brunch is very filling with large portions. My honey really enjoyed the burger and I loved the lamb Merguez sausage, the goat cheese inside the eggs with spinach was such a nice touch. The waitstaff was excellent but you have to walk through the general store to get to the restaurant in back...the staff at the entrance of the store was not very welcoming. The outdoor patio is adorable and offers plenty of shade for hot days. However, the food was meh and so unnecessarily expensive. I have no qualms paying a premium for good food but unfortunately it was super mediocre. We ordered a Benedict and traditional breakfast plate. The food was just ok. The eggs in the Benedict so undercooked; the point that the egg whites were runny. My over hard eggs are over softish medium. The bacon and sausage were good but nothing special in my opinion. Our server was no where to be found so we couldn't even send the food back to the kitchen... The cherry on top here is that after breakfast around 11:05 we asked if we could opt in for wine tasting to which we were told "no, we don't start that until 11:30". The customer service was really great when I came here with my family this past weekend. It's one of the main reasons I give this place a 5/5. I ordered their eggs Benedict and tried my family's other dishes such as their chicken and waffles as well as their French toast. The eggs on the Benedict were poached very nicely, served with well-seasoned potatoes (could've been crispier, but still tasty). The chicken and waffles were really great too, and I recommended them because the meat wasn't dry at all (they use chicken breast too!) and the waffles were very light, soft, and fluffy! I can say the same thing about their French toast too! Ambiance is very nice and located right next to the Napa River, where you can see people walking alongside the path, but the dining area is still separated by trees, so it's still semi-private without people hovering over you. I'd come back here again to try their drinks and try more of their brunch menu items. We made a 1:00 PM reservation for a Mother's Day brunch for a group of 20 family members today. We arrived at 12:50 PM, and the hostess and the manager, Luis, said the table was ready and seated us immediately. There was no wait. We also needed space for a motorized wheelchair, and the staff made room and moved tables around. They were helpful and accommodating. The servers were truly attentive throughout our visit. For a group as large as ours, she was quick to respond to our needs, ensuring we never had to look for her. The food was delicious. My family ordered breakfast items, which they enjoyed, and my son enjoyed their Quiche. The cheeseburger was cooked just the way I requested. If you order just one thing here, I HIGHLY recommend the Chocolate Beignets, which are PHENOMENAL, very fluffy, and tasteful. This is a great location. There is a garage with lots of handicapped spots, which is what we needed for a wheelchair. There is a very good bakery next door. Outside the restaurant, there is a fountain to take photos. Great place to sit outside, eat and enjoy the weather. As a family, we enjoyed a great Mother's Day brunch! Small divided spaces inside selling wares from various people, they also have a wine tasting bar inside and a cute pot belly stove that looks like it may work during the winter months. Indoor and outdoor (preferred) seating serving breakfast (and maybe lunch/dinner?). They have a pizza oven so they must serve afternoon meals. Food was very good. My only criticism is their coffees were all $6.00 and included espresso, etc.. I really wanted just a cup of coffee but not at 6.00! My wife and I have been in this place a handful of times over the years - the food is decent and the patio nice as it is next to the river. The interaction/experience we had in our last visit though is unacceptable. We came in for a coffee or tea and they turned us away in a quite dismissive way, stating that there are other shops downtown. This was early in the morning, they were almost empty, we were dressed business casual, and there was an older couple enjoying their tea outside! We would understand it if they were, or expected to be, packed but in this case it was arrogant, avaricious, and inhumane. There are a bunch of great places in downtown Napa with great service/management, I suggest we support businesses with a mission to serve and make the world a better place. read more
