Had an amazing meal here the other night on our visit to downtown Napa. Our server was so friendly and helpful! Had so much wine during our visit that only had a glass of Sancerre, which was terrific. Had to choose between the prime rib special and the rib eye chop. Our server recommended the rib eye and so it went. She was nice enough to give us some Yorkshire pudding, which was also terrific. Started off with an excellent Caesar salad, with whole anchovies. Crabmeat cocktail was fresh and tasty and the rib eye was perfect! Finished off with strawberry shortcake, which, though lacking in strawberries, was still very good. We had a great experience at Cole's Chophouse last night. The restaurant was hopping when we arrived for our 7pm reservation. Great energy and vibe as we walked in the restaurant. Friendly hostess. We were seated in their large, main floor open dining room. They also have a balcony and outdoor patio for dining. The magic happens in their open kitchen that is fun to watch and adds a cool element to your dining experience. Both the sommelier, Tavo, and the server, Jared, greeted us and assisted us with opening our wine that we brought to share with our friends. We started our meal with the grilled shrimp cocktail (5/5) and the crab cocktail (5/5) for the table to share. Both were fresh and delicious. Most of our table ordered steaks, I ordered the long boned pork chop (5/5), with a green peppercorn sauce. The chop was cooked to the right temperature and was clearly brined, as it was moist, tender, and had great char. We order corn, fries, and lobster Mac & Cheese for the table to share. Everyone loved their steaks and we nearly polished off all the sides. My only comment to our super tasty meal is the large baked potato ordered by one of my friends was baked way too long and was overcooked. It had been years since I had dinner last at Cole's. First of all, I highly recommend making a reservation in advance because on weekends this place gets extremely busy. We celebrated our anniversary here, and the staff took the time to give us a postcard with a small handwritten note, and at the end they surprised us with dessert, which was a very thoughtful touch and truly appreciated. This is definitely a place to try. I've been debating where to go several times when planning my trip, it was either this place Bottega, Bistro Jeanty, Bistro Don Giovanni, etc. But I said hey let's give this place a try they have a 4.7 rating on OpenTable. And it did not disappoint. For drinks we had the Twelve Mile Limit and the Cole's Sunset. They both tasted great and were not bad in price. For starters we had the special which was Buffalo Mozzarella with Cherry Tomatoes, Aged Balsamic Vinegar, EVOO, and Crostini Bread. This starter was awesome, I do not like tomatoes at all and wow I can say it was sooo good. For dinner my wife had a Petite Filet Mignon with Béarnaise and I got a larger Filet Mignon Bone In which was the special and I added Blue Cheese Compound Butter on top. For sides we ordered the Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes and the Sweet Corn with a Blue Cheese Compound Butter. You can get the butter on the side if have someone that does not really like blue cheese. The steaks were great, both were seasoned and cooked to perfection which was medium rare for us. I absolutely loved the blue cheese compound butter on my steak, it gave it like a saltier richer nutty taste which I really liked, it did not really have much of a blue cheese taste which was great since I don't really like how strong it could be but it paired nicely. However, I should have got the regular Filet Mignon since it had more meat without the bone. The sweet corn was really good with and without the blue cheese butter, but I prefer with. The Yukon gold mashed potatoes needed a little of salt and pepper but that's our preference. For dessert we had the special which was a strawberry shortcake with vanilla bean gelato. This dessert was flavorful and delicious. My wife also had an espresso martini which was really good as well. Overall my experience was great, the ambiance gave it a nice feel, classic steakhouse with good vibes. It's not flashy in any way, just a more relaxed atmosphere. Our server Atiyeh had exceptional service and was always willing to give recommendations. My new favorite escape martinis. I feel like where ever I go they're either too bitter or overall just bad but these were creamy, rich, the perfect amount of sweetness. It was my husband birthday and I wanted to treat him to a great steak house. So based on my research it lead me to Coles Chop House. I didn't really care for the restaurant. It was pretty tight space in there. Not what I pictured in my head. The tables are so close you have to wait for one person to walk pass you before walking pass. I didn't like that at all. It's nothing fancy, maybe for an everyday just because restaurants but it was something that stood out to me. Starting from the cozy, heated outside patio facing the street art monument on the boardwalk The Angus Rib Eye was grilled to absolute perfection - just the way we've requested it and packed with rich, mouthwatering flavor (melted butter on the side for dipping). The Lobster and Shrimp Bisque wrapped in puff pastry was a total standout - wow! - creamy, decadent, and absolutely jam-packed with flavor (and those lobster pieces!) We couldn't believe the size of the Chop House Hash Browns stuffed with fresh Onions - crispy, golden, and so enormous it could easily feed a family (and still have leftovers!). I wish I had a Cole's in my area! This steak house was absolutely phenomenal. My family and I were visiting Napa for the weekend and came across the restaurant on yelp. We had an assortment of food from salads, steak, seafood, and sides and nothing disappointed. The service and entire staff were amazing. Tried a variety of sides including the corn, asparagus, lobster mac and cheese, scalloped potatoes, French fries and creamed spinach. Favorites were the French fries and scalloped potatoes, but all were pretty tasty. If you have mobility issues, ask to be seated on the first floor. OpenTable only had seating for outdoor, which was fine since we lucked out with beautiful sunny weather. It did get breezy as it got darker, but the heat lamp was cranked up and kept us comfortably warm. Guests can also ask for a heated blanket. Overall service was great. I got the Twelve Mile Limit as a cocktail - strong but not overwhelmingly so and super pretty. We shared a bunch of sides and a salad, standouts included the brussel sprouts which weren't overly oily like some tend to be, and the mushrooms which were nice and flavorful. I had the wagyu steak, which was cooked to a perfect medium rare and well seasoned with salt and pepper, though I couldn't really tell that the cut was wagyu. For dessert, I got a seasonal fruit crisp, and tried someone else's creme brulee - both were excellent and not too sweet. The creme brulee might just be the best I've ever had. Overall, a nice classy place to have dinner, with good steak, solid sides and amazing desserts. What a fantastic place! I was fortunate enough to have dinner here for a friend's birthday. The building /space itself is interesting and exhumes "steakhouse". Our meals were over the top delicious! The ribeye was the one of the best ever!! My wife and friends all got the filet and they were all perfectly cooked. The sides, the cocktails the service were all comfortable and spot on. Does that make sense? It wasn't stuffy and pretentious but simply attentive and informative. We couldn't imagine having a better waiter than Gabriel!! We came here the day after Valentine's Day for dinner. My wife had been here in the past, but this was my first time. I was amazed with the whole decor of place such as the humongous display of wine bottles on the wall and the upstairs dining area (we ate downstairs). The staff was very friendly and welcoming including the owner Eric who came to our table to greet us and give us the cocktails we had ordered. I used to work with Eric's wife years ago, and my wife used to watch their son at day care; so it's was good seeing him after all these years. We started off with the Oysters Rockefeller which were excellent. I asked our server Atiyeh where the oysters were from, and he said fresh from the Chesapeake Bay. I could tell these were no oysters like I've had before. So good! Our server Atiyeh (who was very attentive all night and a wonderful host) was very courteous and knowledgeable a out everything, even the steaks. We were originally going to go with a 21-day dry-aged porterhouse, but suggested this might not be the right choice since we both like ours cooked medium. Long story short, he suggested dry aged steaks like like are better served rare or medium rare at best. He recommended the ribeyes which we had no problem with. We also ordered Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes and Sautéed Wild Mushrooms. The steaks were superb! Nice charred crispness on the outside and juicy inside. Awesome flavors! The mashed potatoes were so smooth and delicious. The mushrooms also had sautéed onions with a gravy sauce. Very good. With all that good eating, we somehow found room for dessert which did not disappoint. The Peanut Butter Chocolate Mousse dessert was one of the best I've ever had! Not too rich with just the right amount of sweetness. This place can cost you a pretty penny, but the experience is well worth it. To be honest, a year ago I probably couldn't have seen myself being able to afford dining here. But things happen, the right pieces fall into place, and here I am. Restaurant is in a stone building and with the music pumping loudly it gave an energetic vibe but also a little difficult to make conversation. After giving us some time to look over the menu we finally decided on course of action. For appetizer we started out with Wild Mushroom Crostini. Mushrooms were very tasty. For entrees my friend got the Petite Filet Mignon and I opted for the Rib Eye Steak which both got requested medium cooked. For sides we got the Roasted Cauliflower and the Yukon Gold Potato Gruyère Gratin. We both really enjoyed our steaks! My rib eye was perfectly cooked and so delicious. I cut my steak into tiny slices so I could savor more bites. The cauliflower was okay but the potato side really stood out. So yummy! As Ritchie was going over dessert menu he mentioned that his wife really liked The Banana Cream Pie. Also a nice touch, they brought out a scoop of gelato with slice of chocolate and candle courtesy of the restaurant. Well with a recommendation like that we had to try it. It was a solid choice and one of the best banana cream pie I've had. Came here with two friends to celebrate my birthday. We've been wanting to come here for years, being locals, and finally made the plans to do so. We made a reservation and were sat at our table immediately. We asked to be seated outside since the weather was so warm. They do also have the heaters if you tend to get cold from the breeze. Our server, Ritchie, was very pleasant and gave us plenty of time to look over our menus. We decided on splitting the lobster bisque, cheese platter and oysters for our appetizers. We weren't very thrilled with the appetizers, nothing wrong just not for us. The cheese platter was made of mostly stinky, soft cheeses that only one of us liked. The real treat that all of us agreed on was the perfectly cooked rib eyes, the lobster Mac n cheese and the potatoes gratin. One person in our party opted to add the scallops to their rib eye and gave each of us one and it had to be the BEST scallop any of us have had. If that all wasn't enough we also got desserts!! The bread pudding had the most delicious whisky caramel that apparently people are so in love with they ask if they sell it in jars, unfortunately they don't! The warm browning and caramel gelato was a great combo and the seasonal (peach) fruit crisp was fresh and tasty. We will be coming back and encourage everyone to come here read more

We certainly got our fill of great steakhouse staples - the stars for us were the sides and appetizers; while not listed on the menu, the lobster mac and cheese was available to order, and it was truly phenomenal with a rich seafood flavor, perfectly cooked macaroni, and a crispy baked crust. The lobster bisque in puff pastry was an excellent combination / there's a special ingredient that makes it different than your traditional lobster bisque but we couldn't quite put our finger on it - tahini/sesame perhaps? Nonetheless, quite remarkable. The creamed spinach was well done, although not the best I've had. We ordered the Porterhouse steak for 2 which they kindly split for us, and it was cooked to a beautiful medium rare. It was a miracle we were able to fit any dessert into our stomachs, but the whiskey caramel bread pudding was stellar - served warm and beautifully cooked. I am writing about an incident that happened at the restaurant last night. I left my AirPods at your establishment and turned around as soon as possible once my phone notified me they were left there. Once I returned the manager did try to help me, but it was unsuccessful. Then this morning they pinged at a location in Fairfield. I am assuming that an employee took my AirPods. I definitely need some answers, I live in South Carolina and what was a nice birthday dinner, turned into the establishment leaving a bad taste in my mouth.
