The view of the lake is a beautiful site to see while sipping on a Bloody Mary on a sunny day. The eggs Benedict is my favorite by far! We came in for lunch once and the taco salad was delicious, but I was sad they didn't serve breakfast during the week. This is definitely our Sunday spot for brunch and golf! I loved this place - went to sit outside and because of the geese I guess they don't switch out their seat cushions on the outside - I went outside to sit and saw bird poop and tried to turn over vs. sit on it and it was disgusting on the other side of the cushion it made me feel ill - instead of cleaning they just turn it over. There was a ton of crap on the other side. I know this place has good food for a golf course so highly disappointed. I hope the owner sees this and directs staff to buy some new cushions and clean them daily. We did not want to stay as it was a turnoff. No one wants to see that! read more

Fun place. We sat at the bar and were continually entertained by the Cincinnati Bengals fan bartender (sorry, cannot remember his name). We each had a beer and split a garden burger with sautéed mushrooms (well worth the extra charge). We subbed onion rings for French fries, a very good call. The food was good and filling. This place could definitely use a boost in customer service, cleanliness and way overpriced. There's no inside tables so you're forced to sit outside with a nice lakeside view. Server was slamming dishes in a tub next to us, flies EVERYWHERE. We were constantly squatting flies. Long wait. Servers were overworked, took like an hour to get a refill or our check. They charging as much as a Thomas Keller restaurant $50+ for two for lunch which I had better from like the worst food you got at a dirtbike track or high school football game. Gimme a break. Celebrated our mom's birthday the weekend before last. Choosing a place that our mom likes is not easy, but fortunately Napa has many options. My sister found Lakeside Grill and it was a winner. Our mom lives in Napa and it was chosen for its proximity and addition to the positive reviews. My sister chose outside dining, which afforded a very beautiful view of the lake and golf course. It was a very warm day and the kind our mom loves. Our server Will was very patient as or family went through the quotidian exercise of deciding where sit. This takes longer than what would be considered reasonable. I'll skip straight to the food. If you like burgers & fries, then this place is a very good spot. I had their standard burger (medium-well) and upgraded to garlic fries (oh, yeah). It was excellent and I finished my meal like Joey Chestnut at an eating contest. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. The rest of the family also enjoyed their meals and as you can see by the pics, it tasted as good as it looked. Service was excellent and Will was very attendant to our needs, which was considerable. Best of all, our mom had a great time and that was what really mattered. Omg let's start with the food. Yummmm Cobb salad tossed was so crisp and yummy. You can't go wrong with the dressing or sub with ranch. Both are delicious. The burger is so good and sharable. Let's not forget about the calamari with slices of Jalepenos!!! So good. While the company (family) was the best on Memorial Day with my brother a veteran, it was the view with of the golf course that was the icing on the cake. Besides being opposite side to Domain Chandon and having a great view of a small lake and golf coarse from the patio area this place needs a boost in customer service and staff needs to be inviting and friendly. We stopped by only to have a drink and sit on the patio to enjoy the view but getting a drink was a hassle! We came in a referral from a gal we had just met at a store nearby. It was later in the afternoon about 4 so i understand they were cleaning up and getting ready to close but it was like we did not exsist! Stood by bar watching staff clean up and no one even approached my friends and I to see if we needed anything. If you're looking for fancy, go somewhere else. This is a well-run cafe that reminds me of places I went in the 90s and loved. Great burgers. Incredible service with one guy who never writes anything down but gets the order and even substitutions perfect. Another visit, the server MADE tartar sauce because they didn't have any, then told us the recipe. This is a locals hangout and you "know if you belong" when you walk in. Act like an entitled tourist and you'll be ignored (see some of the other reviews) but if you smile and are friendly, service is wonderful and your drinks will never go empty. If a cobweb on a light fixture bothers you or you don't like hanging around veterans, this isn't the place for you. And likely you're not a very happy person in life generally. The Lakeside Grill is next to the railroad tracks straight off of I-29 S., in Yountville. Also close by is a Fire Station. We went there for lunch because it was nearby a friends home. Lunch serves house-made soups, salads, sandwiches and lots of appetizers. We skipped appetizers and got one hot tea, one cold tea, and one water. The restaurant doesn't have any curtains nor carpeting. It has an open feeling and lots of windows and double doors, too! Lots of natural lighting. It seems quiet at first. However, if more than two tables gets filled that changes things. When The Lakeside Grill got the 'Lunch Crowd' in, it WAS loud!! For lunch our friend ordered a Western cheeseburger with french fries. Friend reported it was all yummy! Burger had cheese & bacon, which made it a Western. (That's what I'm gonna get next time!) I had the grilled chicken sandwich with salad. The sandwich seemed like there were 2 chicken breast on my French roll. Delicious, and came with tomato slices, lettuce and choice of cheese. I really liked my meal. Wife had Tuna melt sandwich and she got beef vegetable soup. She really enjoyed her lunch choices. We all did. ;-) FYI: All sandwiches come w/soup, salad or french fries. Staff were helpful and our server made sure to check back with us to see how we were. She remembered to bring us extra napkins and refilled our beverages promptly. Restaurant is not trendy, nor cheap not upscale, nor a dive bar. It was a nice place for friends to have satisfied cooked lunch and enjoy looking out at the golf course and the lake. The location is amazing and the food is great.... When it actually shows up, meaning.... I gave the young man my order two times due to him not writing it down, so when he brought out our breakfast... he forgot the cheese on the eggs, syrup for the pancakes, side of bacon, jam for the toast and 3 times I had to ask "are the hash browns coming? To which on the third time he replied, somehow your order for them was missed and they're no longer making them"... seriously this happened lol Staff that works here.... If you get your food to go they charge a to go fee which is ridiculous when you consider the prices. I wish they would stop charging veterans and the Veterans Home employees to go fees. The scramble was missing its cheese, it was still good. The beef in the burrito had nice flavor. The presentation could use some work, it's amazing what a garnish can do for a dish. Part of a golf course, we weren't expecting much besides finger foods, sandwiches and burgers. The food came out pretty fast. Surprising the food tasted good, fresh and had good portions. For a party of 5, we ordered a steak burrito, chicken wings, a bacon burger, clam chowder, fried calamari and a cob salad. The food helped calm down the buzz from wine tasting and our tummies were pleased! I went to the Lakeside Grill on a Wednesday- driving back from the California Veterans home. My coworkers and I were starving and it was recommended that we come here. Pros- the food was great and the service was also. My coworkers had the pork ribs and reported them being delightful. I am not a big fan of crab cakes but was pleasantly surprised that if made right, crab cake can be absolutely amazing. Cons- I can't think of any right now because the food, decor and service works. Very poor service on two recent occasions. Gil gave me the wrong drink then insisted it was correct, later admitted he gave my drink to another table. Next visit we waited for him for at least 15 minutes to place our order, then had to flag down a different waiter to help us. Slammed our drinks down on the table. Dropped the bill then never came back to take our card. I had to go to the bar to pay, and mentioned our waiter was very inattentive. The bartender told Gil who (finally) came to our table to argue with us. Will not go here again.
