Came to boru noodle bar and it was a hit!! It's a hole in the wall but super delicious. The edamame was super yummy. The ramen was good !!! Wish they had more appetizer options but overall a must go!

this ramen hit the spot. it had great flavor and on this day, the weather was cold, so the warmth was much needed. staff was friendly and service was quick

Cute little hole in the wall with yummy food! My friends and I stumbled upon Boru on our way to our Airbnb. The restaurant has plenty of seating in the front and in the back. We sat up front and it was empty and quiet but the back was full of people. The service itself was pretty fast. The food was fresh and delicious. The ramen was extremely filling and the edamame was spicy and perfectly cooked. Would visit again!

I had a Pork Belly Bao Bun, spicy miso ramen with a soft boiled egg and sampled my friends ice cream and everything was amazing. The miso broth was thick, flavorful, just the right amount of spicy and the dish had many of the best ramen ingredients. Will be back again!!!!!!!

Tastes good. Broth is Perfect for cold winter season. But not enough. So you have to order another bowl of extra broth. Especially if you add up extra toppings like mine(with kimchi, egg, mushroom and the side calamari). The calamari is very tasty. Love it. Excited to visit and order more. Btw they have some unique ramen flavor aside from miso like the tika masala ramen. Definitely going back to try it.

Super simple noodle bar. Small (ish) menu but what they do have on tap is excellent. Pork buns and house ramen were great. I read a few of the reviews ahead of time like I always do and most of the complaints were regarding the wait staff. That doesn't sway me as much as it does other people. I'm in it for the food so give me cordial and fairly attentive staff and that's fine. Fun place, zero frills, just good bowls of ramen. Fun sake and Japanese beer selection too.

I don't really have good things to say, but also nothing too bad?? The flavors in everything we ate were really off except for the tater tots, which were surprisingly decent. The house ramen was way too smoky, and the miso was too sweet and thick. The Korean chicken didn't taste Korean at all, but I can see what they were going for. The service however was good, and the restaurant is quite small

Cute ramen and small bites spot downtown area. Limited seating inside and parking can be scarce. Ramen was good but I want to praise the pork buns more than the ramen. No picture because I gobbled em right up! 2 per serving but I would've at 6! The waitress wasn't very friendly from beginning to end.

Good spot for Ramen in Newport. Came here for lunch on a weekday. Not many tables inside. Got the pork buns and spicy miso ramen. The pork buns were pretty good. Liked the ramen as well, though I felt something was missing in the broth, either the depth or flavor. I did like that they used ground pork and corn strips. Overall good experience and reasonable prices.

Food was delicious we ordered the house ramen and the crispy Brussel sprouts and we LOVED IT. The customer service was great and our waitress was lovely and kind We sat outside and we enjoyed our time there We will come again Highly recommend

After many heavy fried meals, we wanted to eat something comforting. Saw the great reviews this place had and decided to give it a try. We ordered the szechuan calamari to not forget we were in RI, the house ramen and the spicy beef dan dan noodles. The spicy beef dan dan noodles felt a bit too oily and I wasn't a fan of the beef pieces. Besides that, everything else was delicious.

This small little hole in the wall is a fun place to go with friends and enjoy a fusion of what feels like different cultures. Since it's so small the servers are quick and attentive. The food was good. We ordered the wings, spicy pickles, pork bao buns and house ramen. The wings were delicious and crispy yet overly salty. The spicy pickles were a good break up from that and the pork buns were sweet and absolutely the best thing. The house ramen was flat, not salty not overly flavorful but enjoyable to slurp up with a semi runny egg.

The seasonal vegetarian broth period. Coconut curry Ramen.

It was good crispy, nicely cooked the sauce really was a stand out for me. Well, a few of my other family members would have preferred soy sauce but a bit pricey for what it was. Not amazing, just decent. Good portion though. Everyone at the table loved the Tom Yum soup. It's not really my thing since I don't love coconut-based soups, but everyone else was raving and said it was the best they've had. I ordered the Crispy Duck and it was the highlight of the meal. The duck tasted very fresh, and CRISPY the sauce was sweet and spicy, and the greens tasted more like baked kale than fried light, not greasy, and full of flavor. Really excellent. However, it can get quite heavy as my boyfriend really liked his food, but the sauce was a bit much for him with the heaviness of the duck so just keep that in mind I thought it was fine. I liked it so personal preference. There was a small mix-up where my food was accidentally taken away and thrown out, but the staff handled it well and made me a smaller batch to go. I was a little bummed not to get all the extra greens I'd saved, but they genuinely tried to make it right. I also kept changing my mind on my main dish once I realized something was coconut-based, and the staff was incredibly patient and kind the whole time. Great food, great service, and definitely worth coming back.

The chicken satay with peanut sauce was excellent...generously sized chicken skewers with very tasty slight sweet peanut sauce. The Crab Rangoon was also excellent. My friend is more of fan of these than I am and didn't plan on eating more than one, but these were so flavorful and crispy...maybe the best crab Rangoon I've had. The Vietnamese Boon with beef lemongrass was great! I loved that the beef was cut into small pieces/shreds. The beef had so much flavor there was almost no need to add the sweet/sour sauce to the noodles. The sweet/sour sauce was excellent too. I would have liked a bit more cilantro on the boon, but that 's my personal preference. I can't comment on the decor/ambiance because my friend went in to get the take out order. The street it is located on is very small/narrow so I had to stay in the car in case I needed to move it (since I was blocking the street). The pick up was so quick I didn't need to move the car.

The chicken satay was excellent. Very juicy and flavorful. If the same chicken was in my ramen, I probably would give this place a five star review. The curry ramen was filled with a spicy flavorful broth and a healthy serving of accoutrements but the chicken was very dry. Given that was my only complaint and the woman who served me was extremely gracious, mountain moose earns my recommendation. Note, if you're looking for massamam curry, just go to a Thai restaurant.

I got here around 4 pm and the parking situation wasn't honestly an issue. The music isn't over powering and the overall layout makes it seem very homey. depending on where you sit you have a nice view of the kitchen where the chefs are diligently preparing the food. The starter bread is nice and dense with good flavor, it reminds me of a sour dough. The olive oil that comes standard at the table is robust and has a very nice flavor to it. I ordered the pasta bolognese, the taste and acidity of the sauce is pretty standard, a little on the acidic side but i tend to enjoy it like that. The house made pasta (or whichever kind of pasta is used) is well picked. The pasta picks up the sauce well and the mouthfeel is hard to beat; I want to attribute that to the house made aspect of it. I also got one of their seasonal cocktails called the paper plane which was refreshing. It was a little tart, definitely tastes of grape fruit with the lemon garnish also contributing to the taste. However I'm not sure how well it paired with pasta alla bolognese. To finish I got the crème brûlée. For me it's always a toss up between that and key lime pie every time so when a place offers both I usually have to flip a coin. For those who have had crème brûlée, it's overall a pretty simple dessert. The portion size was a huge plus for me. The sugar top had just a hint of burnt taste (obviously!) but you could really tell; and that is something I honestly don't mind. As for the crème it was nice, light, smooth with a hint of lemon I think. The staff are very friendly and attentive. I'm typically a solo diner but at least from what I saw they are capable of accommodating parties of about 10 so long as you call ahead first to let them know. I have to assume given the time of year it's "less packed" than normal because outdoor dining is pretty much not an option in march. This is my first time in the state of Rhode Island and subsequently the first time in Newport. I found them out through the Resy app, and decided to give it a shot. In all honestly because of the vibes, the food and the area, if you are ever in the area I would definitely try this spot out for some pretty good Italian. P.S I want to apologize for only posting the dessert, I'm just getting back into food posting. Sorry!

We talked a lot and were slow to order. The server was patient and checked in regularly but didn't rush us. When we ordered the food was delivered almost instantly. I tried the tagliatelle bolognese and really liked it. I also had pepperoni pizza and loved it. It was an almost perfect Neapolitan pizza diavola with just a little American flair in the pepperoni. Crust was crispy chewy as it should be and the sauce was perfect. A++ pizza! The prices are extremely fair for downtown, and the food is top 10% or better. The restaurant has a very calming atmosphere inside and while small, even has outdoor seating. Drinks/apps: we always start off with Thai iced teas, these are a must. They are sweet but not overly so, and go very well with any dish you order. We also love the spring rolls, mango fresh rolls, and our favorite, the curry puffs. They are flakey and filled with sweet/savory vegetable flavors. Of course we also get the edamame because it's a nice little snack. Entrees: my current favorite is the malay noodle soup, it comes out steaming hot and is so creamy and filling. There is plenty of beef and wonderful steamed broccoli that soaks up the flavor of the soup. I also love the Rad Na, which is an assortment of steamed vegetables in a gravy-like curry. This one is perfect for colder months, since it really warms you up. My bf has gotten various curries and the vermicelli trio which he has enjoyed very much as well. Dessert: we haven't tried any dessert here because we end up getting so full from the other dishes! Each time we go I anticipate that I will need to be carried out, because I will probably go into a food coma. TL;DR: For those visiting Newport, do not pass up trying this place if you're not in the mood for the overwhelming amount of seafood restaurants located here.
