Our stay was in a King, Marina View, Suite.
First the "Vacation" positives:
1. ROOM: The rooms are beautiful and I believe each has a balcony to enjoy! Our room was equipped with a full kitchen, blender, coffee maker, large fridge, sink, the works!! It had 2 bathrooms-one with an easily accessible shower (wonderful for a broken ankle!!), the other has a large Jacuzzi tub. Each have private toilet areas. Beds were cozy, AC worked great.
2. The pool area needs to be accessed by an air conditioned shuttle (or a long sweaty walk), but it is fabulous once you're there!, and the drivers are all so friendly and helpful! There's a kiddie pool/water fall, a lazy river which looked enjoyable (mix of adults floating and kids swimming). An adult only lap pool, and quiet adult only pool/hot tub. ALL pools are easily accessible with a handicap lift if needed.
3. BONEFISH GRILL: downstairs (along with a coffee shop and a Grill at the pool). We had a fantastic Waiter (Ryan), and sat on patio, a GORGEOUS evening. Another table asked for a "candle" to keep the bugs at bay. I wish we knew to do that--or better, been offered. California girls, so it never crossed our minds until it was too late. Nonetheless, the salads were yummy, the waiter was great, and the atmosphere was wonderful!
4. The STAFF: Ive stayed in many hotels, resorts, and vacation rentals. The staff here is across the line comparable with the Ritz Carlton! It felt like the same motto- "Customer is always assisted and always utmost important." We had to change rooms "3" times (explanation below) yet Anthony remained friendly, helpful, patient and courteous the entire time!! Not one bit of annoyance! His attitude and tenacity kept us from getting annoyed! haha. And Tom-the Valet/Bellman was amazing! He stayed with us the entire time and because walking was hard for me, he would walk ahead and check each room--the issue was that the canopies over the balconies were missing (possibly being repaired??), rendering the balconies unusable for us because of rain. If it's important to anyone to block from sun or rain--make sure to check this, as most wouldn't think of this.
Now for the --"It's JUST business..." negatives:
1. ROOM: We booked through a 3rd party hotel reservation so Anthony had to stick with those 3rd party available rooms to offer us. That limited our choices. Because of my broken ankle--I wanted to sit on the balcony and enjoy the view since walking around the resort wasn't possible so having the canopy was important for us. It took 3 tries because he didn't have that information--we finally had to upgrade our room, in order to find one. BED: In the 2nd room we looked at--we would've not liked to stay, not just because there was no canopy, but it literally looked like the maid had left clothing or something bulky in the bed after making it. Even the bellman agreed it appeared like someone forgot their underwear in it. hahaha!! Still not sure what it was in the bed, but the beds ought to be smooth so people don't get freaked out by that. It actually provokes a negative experience, I think. COFFEE MAKER: there is a coffee maker in the room but the cream and sugar provided are very cheap and the lowest quality that it ruins the romantic convenience of having coffee on the balcony. TUB: when running the water to the jacuzzi tub, it was yellow! We called front desk and were told that many ask about that and it's fine. hmmmm....i don't know why its yellow, it didn't appear to be rust issue, but I'm not taking chances. Nevermind...no bath. lol.
2. MARINA VIEW: In our upgraded room, it's considered a Marina View but 3 HUGE palm trees cover the entire area (see picture) of the balcony and each side so there is literally NO view at all. I wasn't about to complain though--not after they had been so helpful to find a room with a balcony cover. But when booking--make sure you actually DO have a view-this would've made me very upset had I originally paid and chosen this room!
3. The only thing I would've changed about our restaurant experience is to have been offered a bug candle right away, and have some fun music streaming through speakers. otherwise, it was all good!
4. AMENTIES (POOL, SPA): Pool closes at 7:00pm. This seemed extremely early for a vacation resort. The SPA opens at 10 AM but check out is at 11AM. So for us, it was difficult to enjoy the use of the amenities to the fullest. We were disappointed to have to sit in our room all evening and to not to get the chance to use the spa due to short hours.
Overall, it was a good stay and we will come back if we vacation in Naples again. I would recommend this to my friends and the STAFF was my favorite part! read more
