Delicious Italian food in San Angelo, TX! My boyfriend & I came here the first night we arrived in town, and we were so glad we did. The garlic knots here are amazing! That was probably my favorite part of the whole meal. I was so surprised at how soft they were and how strong & aromatic the garlic flavor was. We shared the calamari appetizer and enjoyed that as well, but the garlic knots stole the show. For my entree, I decided to go basic and order the classic spaghetti & meatballs. It did not disappoint! The tomato sauce had a great flavor, and the meatballs were perfectly cooked. Everything was fresh and well-priced. I would highly recommend stopping by for dinner!

Worst dinner in San Angelo. Awful salad, oily sauce, desserts looked like they've been out for days. No way will I return.

Beautiful restaurant and everything was delicious from the bread and the dip provided to the fried calamari to the pasta dishes that we ordered. I was disappointed that the eggplant is no longer on the menu but we thoroughly enjoyed our spaghetti and meatballs and the flavorful marina sauces. The portions were more than generous! We ate for two days! I'll be back the next time I'm in SanAng!

As for Italian food goes in small town Texas, this is the best I've found so far. Not had much else to compare with but this is still very good nonetheless. Having lived in Italy all of 2019 eating lots of legit Italian food all over the country, this came darn close. The service is stupendous and the venue is near top tier fine dining like atmosphere. Ashley is an amazing server while owners Beckham and Lily are star owners ready to serve the locals needs through your stomach and your heart. Great place for date night, special occasions and celebrations. Top notch foods, good portions, value prices. Winner all round.

Shrimp Alfredo

Arrived here for a comforting late lunch before heading to the airport and I ordered the shrimp fettuccine Alfredo. It was AMAZING!!! The amount served was more than enough and it was super creamy with sauce. Usually I have to ask for a side of Alfredo sauce elsewhere but that was not the case today. It was served soon after and it was pleasantly hot and fresh. The bread served was fresh and tasty. Owner, Bekam, made sure to come by and make sure service was good and not lacking. Any customer that came through he made sure to assist if needed (with an elderly) and took a few minutes to chat with every customer making it feel very genuine as he did with me. The waitress, Gabrielle, was very attentive, friendly and on point. Also cleanliness of dining area and restroom was on point as well too. I travel to San Angelo for business and will definitely make sure to come again for lunch and dinner!

This place was absolutely amazing. First of all the waitress that helped us was great. I wish I could remember her name but I believe it started with a "A". Nevertheless this is definitely a place you could dress up to & celebrate a special occasion which I feel like is very limited in San Angelo regarding options of such. I ordered the lobster ravioli w/ shrimp and it was a great choice! I also ordered the tiramisu for dessert and that was just as splendid. My friends all enjoyed their entrees aswell. I will definitely come back again and try other items. Enjoy !

It's "ok".. The restaurant isdark and dated, the food is kinda bland. I was hoping for something more authentic, but instead it made me think of S&S Cafeteria. The service was awesome!

But first we met up at their house for drinks, chatted for a while, then off to Dinner. The Wharf is always busy, but last night we didn't have to wait for a booth. The Hostess showed us to our table, and our Server, Jade, came over to take our drink orders. I'm having a Jack-N-Coke, my Wife is going with just water. Deb ordered Wine and Cliff had his choice (unknown). The Wharf does a nice pour of Wine in your glass. While we waited for our drinks, we looked over the menu, trying to decide what to order from all the deliciousness they offer. Our drinks arrived, and we toasted to my Birthday. They make a mighty fine drink, no matter what you order. It's time to order our food. My Wife, Deb, ordered from the 'Reduced Portions Menu', their "Catfish" (blackened), with one side. My Wife went with Sweet Potato Fries, Deb with Baked Potato, and an extra House Salad. Cliff also ordered their Blackened Catfish, but from the regular menu. Comes with Two Catfish Filets, and two sides. Went with the New England Clam Chowder Soup and Cajun Rice. I usually get the Blackened Catfish from their regular menu, but this time I'm ordering from the Combination Menu, the "Steak & Chicken"; Top Sirloin & Teriyaki Chicken, Med-Rare on the Sirloin Steak, and a Caesar Salad. The Chicken comes with a Teriyaki Sauce. Orders are in, and we are enjoying their basket of Rolls with soft butter. Soon, the Salads and Soup arrived, and they all looked delicious. I am very impressed with the presentation of my Caesar Salad. It is a Beautiful work of art. I don't order a Caesar Salad that much when we go out because most places don't do Caesar justice. Caesar may have been killed by self-proclaimed "Liberators", but he left behind a great-tasting salad - and The Wharf serves that salad. It's actually one of the best I have ever had. I think Caesar was a Foodie and those others were just jealous. Anyway, Cliff loved his New England Clam Chowder, and Deb enjoyed hers as well. First round of food is gone and out comes our Main Entrees. All the Blackened Catfish looks Catfishlicious and they all confirmed that it is. It's Flaky with a Spicy kick-back. My "Steak & Chicken" combo also looks delicious with the Sirloin Steak glistening and ready to be cut into and the Chicken sitting atop the rice. I sliced into the Sirloin, and it's prepared perfectly medium-rare. It's also very Juicy and Tastylicious. The nice-sized Teriyaki Chicken also has a glistening to it, even without the Teriyaki sauce poured over it. The Chicken is also Tender and Tasty, and pouring more Teriyaki sauce makes it even more so. While we enjoyed our food, we told stories and chatted for some time. Jade checked on us often to see if we needed anything. She was also informed that it is my Birthday and we are looking forward to their "Turtle Pie" for dessert, which is a sinful creation made with an Oreo crust, Carmel, Pecans, Chocolate Ice Cream, and Cookies & Cream Ice Cream, topped with dotted Whipped Cream, drizzled with Caramel & Chocolate Syrup. I guarantee that no Turtles were harmed in making this pie. This Pie is enough for four people to share, and that's what we are doing. Since it's my Birthday, I requested a candle on the Turtle Pie. Jade went for the Turtle Pie and returned shortly with the Pie, four plates, and spoons. As I said, we are sharing this dessert because if it were a 'free-for-all', I'm sure my Lovely Wife would win. She loves this dessert and considers it one of the Best Ever - that's how good it is. This Turtle Pie is HUGE and stands tall on the plate. Jade said that they didn't have any candles, but instead she brought out a long lighter, as you use for a fireplace. She lit the lighter, held it over the Turtle Pie as everyone sang Happy Birthday to me. That was pretty cool. Now it's time to slice this pie. I cut off four pieces for us, leaving a piece left for seconds if anyone should want more. Each of the four pieces is still a good size due to this enormous slice of pie. We all dove into our slice and enjoyed one of the most creamy-est pies you will ever have. The Oreo crust had a nice sweet crunch to it, and the ice creams, along with the drizzled chocolate & caramel syrup, add that creamy sweetness to every bite. The pecans add that extra crunch when you're not drooling over the Oreo crust. We ate all that was on our plate, and I noticed several eyes eyeing the remaining Turtle Pie slice - and Cliff won out. He was the first, and last, to grab that remaining slice. After we all finished our meal and dessert, we chatted for some time. Jade is one Awesome Server and earned the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" Award for going 'above-n-beyond' the norm. She is funny, knows all about the foods at The Wharf, and is a pleasure to chat with. She is also very cute.

And it was delicious, from the noodles, to the chicken, to the sauce, even the artichokes... They were awesome! The only thing I might change would be the bread. But bread is an easy thing to substitute. Along with my meal, I had a glass of red wine, and for dessert I experienced their tiramisu. With James, the service was awesome! He was attentive, checked on me regularly, but didn't rush me. And, he had great advice on the foods to try and check out! The lobby where I was seated was almost empty when I arrived, as I came early... Around 6:30 PM. The large table was just leaving, leaving me to the dining area by myself. When I asked about it, James was kind enough to explain to me that many of the people were in the other two rooms where they had private parties going on. James was always there to make sure my needs were taken care of. He advised me on the best tasting wine, the various meals that were very popular, and made sure that I had everything I needed. The music atmosphere was not Italian, but rather something of the 60s, making me think I had gone back in time. Likewise, the prices were preferably affordable, priced much like in the 60s! In other words, I didn't pay an arm and a leg for my meal. It was well priced! AND the food was well worth it! I will dine here again! P. S. ... and I will insist on my waiter being "James"! After querying him I found he walked to the restaurant that day ... you could never tell it by his dress, and his kind demeanor, but I'm guessing that he's starting life over again. When I asked for his phone number to send him the link for this review, he said he didn't have a phone. So when you dine here, make sure that you ask for James to be your waiter, and tip him well! He works hard to make sure that you have a splendid visit, and you're ever need is taken care of. People like this need to be lifted up, and rewarded for their excellent service!

I've never seen more than three customers inside at once, and one of them looked lost. Yet somehow this establishment continues to exist year after year, defying all known laws of economics. The lights are always on. The employees are always there. The fish is always being fried. For whom? No one knows. I've spent months investigating. I've driven by at different times of day. Weekdays. Weekends. Lunch rush. Dinner rush. Nothing. Just an eerily calm building operating in a reality separate from our own. That said, the food was hot, the staff was friendly, and my order was correct. The dining area should be serviced hourly with regard to wiping down the tables and sweeping/mopping. Also checking and refilling the condiments hourly. And the soda fountain could do with a nightly scouring. So why the 1 1/2 stars. I suppose that in the past, this place was really bad: dirt on the register, potholes in the parking lot, mold growing in the soda fountain reservoir. This place is actually not as bad as that. San Angelo is a sleepy little town, and looks to be quite old. The downtown area has potholes, pavement has plenty of broken spots where there were once pretty tiles, and the buildings are just old. So with that knowledge, yes, there might have been potholes recently, but upon parking in the parking lot, we didn't notice any. I didn't go through the drive thru, so I cannot say there are none. Walking into the main dining area, there are crumbs on the tables, dusty shoe prints on the floor as well as crumbs, and the condiment tartar sauce was empty, however it was easily remedied when staff offered me a handful of tarter sauces. Garbage was not overflowing and I did not note any garbage on the floors either. Although a single napkin on the floor is not a "pile" of garbage as someone else had defined in their review. The staff were friendly and quite patient as I waffled between ordering different plates on the menu. My food came out promptly. The batter was warm and crispy, so obviously my food had not been sitting out all day, but not quite fresh from the fryer either. The food smelled and looked appetizing, just as I had remembered as a child growing up. The crispy bits of batter accompanying my fish was a sight for sore eyes. As usual, it was super greasy, it probably always has been, but the oil used was not old. Everything was cooked to par level. It isn't bad at all. Just bear in mind that this place is not fine dining. The tables and floor won't be immaculate, the condiments may go empty, but staff was pleasant and even came out to check on us a couple of times.

Here recently prices, food quality, and service has changed. I have noticed that per group and amount you pay is widely different even if it is just two adults. I asked a very sweet woman before I came in how much she payed and it's was around 43+. And it was just her and her young daughter. I payed 45 for 2 adults. The food quality is slightly different based on the times you come in to eat. Which has slowly started catching my attention more and more. The service here is good. Always has been for me each time I come in. Refills, questions, and all the things you expect to get. I have never been treated rudely either or like I am different from other quests, but I have heard with a couple of my friends that they are treated differently. Which isn't good at all for keeping business. When you walk in the place is how it always looks. To me it hasn't seemed to change except a couple of the neon lights not being on. The only problem I would say I have or a couple of comments I have over heard is the trash is overfilled and not taken out responsibly. To conclude what I am stating. Do not come here if you are looking to spend differently each time you come in. Come here if you do not care about that, in all seriousness after today I will not be eating here. Based upon the conversations I have over-heard and the business itself.
