I was looking for a brunch spot near the airport while there for work. I was lucky to find this spot and glad I have a few days left here so I can come again. The atmosphere: New, inviting, farmhouse-chic feel. There's a big wooden bar and just enough tables that it doesn't feel crowded. They have one of those neon, cursive letter sign on the wall with a background of greenery. Great photo op for all you IG posters. The service: I was greeted immediately when I walked in by a friendly lady and a big smile. I sat at the bar since I was by myself. My server was Nick and he also greeted me immediately, introduced himself with a smile, and said he'd be taking care of me. He wasn't lying either. Nick was attentive, efficient, friendly, and accommodating throughout the visit. This may not be important to some, but if you want to see some of the most beautiful blue eyes, ask for Nick. A man that appeared to be a manager/owner was chatting with guests, checking on service, and doing exactly what managers should do - running a great restaurant the right way. The food: I ordered the Chicken Dance - breaded chicken and waffles. They come with a sausage gravy, but I ordered that on the side. I also ordered a side of their hot honey. It mixed perfectly with the syrup and added a nice kick. The chicken and waffles were both hot and fresh when they hit the counter in front of me. Overall, this place is fantastic. Super impressed with every little thing about this space! The one downside is they do not accept reservations. However, we only had to wait about 20 minutes on a Sunday morning around 10:30. The service was fantastic, food was absolutely delicious and the portions were huge! I got The Gatsby, which was to die for! The chicken was more like rotisserie chicken, it was not overloaded with mayo, and whatever multigrain bread they use is so good. My sister-in-law got the Avo BST & my brother-in-law got two eggs & bacon on a croissant. I didn't get to get too many photos of the food but I can assure you that it was delicious and again, portions were hefty. I will post a photo of The Gatsby so you can see the amount of chicken salad you get! Also, our server Amanda was super friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be going back! read more

"Poppy's Grilled Cheese" - boneless short rib in triple decker Texas Toast - they forgot the basil and a lot of fatty pieces of the short rib. The plain mac & cheese with the breadcrumbs - just a pile of elbows with a few crumbs and not too much cheese - very dry. The fries were the frozen kind and greasy. Skip the muffins - had the blueberry (they make new ones each week) soggy. The "Passion Fruit" drink was served in a glass mug/jar. Pretty good, not too sweet. The food came out fast. Had the beeper things that lets you know when you can come in. (Just a 5 minute wait at 1:30pm on a weekday) Friendly staff, all dressed the same, company t-shirts, neat. The background music too loud. You can sit at the counter - about 8 seats About 12 - 14 tables. Plenty of parking. I will give it another try. read more

The food and service here are above and beyond what you'll get in your everyday diner. I was looking at the menu before I came and there were a few menu items that you don't usually see. I had a dish that was kind of a mash-up between Chicken and Waffles and Biscuits and Gravy. Really good. Give it a try. I'll be coming back for more. Sorry, I didn't take any pictures. What a GREAT place!!! Small spot but beautifully designed! Rustic wood design w/sharp look. Tables & counter service. A Beautiful outdoor seating area!! Wrought iron tables under umbrellas w/faux grass, water fountain, lilac bushes (even the bumblebees were happy eating there!). Such Friendly service!! From the moment you step inside the spot it is hopping with Cheeriness! It was a Tuesday morning and it seemed like a weekend w/the buzz inside! (Make note, the weekends will probably have a wait). Service was quick and efficient. The menu choices were so different- not your average diner menu! I had the Jenn E; a quinoa bowl mixed w/mushrooms, spinach, peppers, caramelized onions w/a fried egg and heaping dollop of mashed avocado. Beautiful bowl of healthiness! Everything in it was executed perfectly! (The only thing I would do differently is try my egg over easy, since I'm a big yolk fan. But who knows if it would work w/the dish. Guess I have to make my way back there when I'm in the area bc I would def order it again!) Did I mention it was a beautiful Big Bowl?! And the coffee?? Such a smooth fresh cuppa! It was a triple blend burger cooked to your preference w/a slice of cheese & bacon on top, served alongside 6 deliciously seasoned, and perfectly cooked Shrimp(!), 2 lovely fried eggs, and home fries that were cubed and I'd venture to say air fried?? Bc they were light and crispy all around and not overly seasoned so they played their role as supporting food actor very well! Giving 5 stars specifically for the young girl hostess on Sunday, 1/21. The restaurant is extremely busy on a Sunday morning, with limited seating often having over hours of wait, and she was handling it perfectly, completely on her own might I add. There were quite a few extremely rude people yelling at her trying to tell her how to do her job and screaming that she didn't know what she was doing. These people were accommodated extra and treated with immense respect by the rest of the staff, which I do not agree with when they were berating employees. I noticed a sizable difference between how my table was treated vs. theirs, just because of the ordeal made at the hostess' expense. Hosting is often a thankless job, especially in these busier restaurants, so I commend her for keeping composure and being courteous to all guests, no matter their demeanor. Please tip her graciously and be grateful to have a respectful hostess. read more

Came home to LI for a HS reunion and found this gem! I had the Nappi Frittata and my husband had the Nick sandwich. Meal came out quickly, huge portions and delicious! Jeannie our waitress was so friendly, helpful and attentive. She made recommendations and convinced us to try a fancy cold expresso beverage with peanut butter cups, peanut butter, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, decadent!! The only reason for the 4 stars is the wait is ridiculous 1:15 minutes. Instead of having empty tables of 2, make them 3-4. Otherwise the food is delicious. This was my second time and wound up getting lunch because of the long wait. I got the GATSBY with fries & chickpea salad. The chicken salad was very flavorful( note had crushed red onion) & the chick pea salad was also very good. My friends opted for MIMOSAS and breakfast. A great time had by all. First off, great location, so easy to get here. The staff is warm and inviting, they make me feel like I've been a regular for years. The atmosphere is new and clean. For the food, I had the croissant egg cheese and hash browns. Food was fresh, quick and cooked to perfection. Also very high end ingredients.
