    Chicken Hibachi

Ordered takeout from here. Portions were huge for the chicken hibachi. Lots of chicken and vegetables and plenty of rice. The miso soup was delicious as well. Lots of great options on their menu.

This place had a weird smell to it, but decided to dine in regardless. The girl up front was a bit off. We walked in and asked questions since we are vegan and she kinda seemed as if she was annoyed by it or didn't understand what was being said. We ordered fish tofu, plain lo mein and a side of white rice. She mistakenly ordered rice with eggs and we couldn't eat it, but when I told her if we can please have white rice, she looked at me as if it was my fault. Anyways, the lady up front told the cook to change it to white rice only. I hope that she changes up her attitude because the food was delicious and I would go back. However, I treat people accordingly. Delicious food, rude girl. Everyone is entitled to feel what they feel, but never take it out on a customer.

Definitely some of the worst food I've ever eaten. The steak was so gross and slimy and the noodles were dry and had no flavor

Probably the worst hibatchi I have ever had. The steak is not even steak, the rice was over seasoned. Egg rolls were undercooked!

Not true Hibachi, more like Chinese food false advertisement. Food is decent if you want Chinese food but don't call it hibachi.

We were actually on our way to a different Chinese buffet when we accidentally stumbled into AJISAI Hibachi Buffet... and let me tell you, sometimes getting lost is the best thing that can happen! The words "All You Can Eat" had me at hello. For $32.99, the amount of food choices is absolutely insane. Sushi? Check. Hibachi? Check. Seafood? Check. Desserts? Check. Basically, if you leave hungry, that's a personal decision. Now, I walked in hungrier than a hostage... and my daughter? Let's just say she activated her Big Back Scholarship. Every time I looked up, she had another plate like she was training for the Buffet Olympics. I was honestly proud. Everything we tried was fresh, hot, and packed with flavor. The staff kept everything stocked, the restaurant was clean, and the atmosphere was perfect for stuffing your face without judgment. If you're in Tampa visiting your kid at USF, do yourself a favor and stop by AJISAI Hibachi Buffet. Just wear stretchy pants... because your belt is definitely filing a complaint afterward.

Some of the rolls were really good and fresh, and it's easy to get your money's worth if you come hungry. The appetizers were also a highlight for me. That said, the experience felt a little inconsistent. A few items took a while to come out, and some rolls were much better than others quality-wise. It's not the best sushi I've ever had, but for all-you-can-eat, it scratches the itch. Overall, I'd still go back when I'm craving AYCE sushi with friends...just maybe with slightly tempered expectations.

The hostess was pleasant when arriving and presented herself with exceptional sleek style. Someone brought me a palate cleanser drink which was rhubarb and lemongrass water. It was smooth and refreshing. The server guided me through the cocktail menu which was an exploration all its very own. I choose the cocktail called Opposite Day- Japanese whiskey, sweet Sauvignon Blanc, salted wine and roasted beets- twist on a whiskey sour but flipped! Oysters were light and fresh and the juice in the shell was precision clean. It really pops the flavors of the oyster. Yellowtail jalapeño handroll- it is designed to be eaten similar to a taco. The yellowtail was superbly fresh, the jalapeno was a mild touch to accompany the dish and didn't try to be the star. and the homemade soy sauce didn't over power the fish. Duck leg finished with a Szechuan spice and finished a pear au jus. The duck fell off the bone and was bursting with a complex blend of elegant flavors. The entire dining area and booth is now Tanto and they have themed cocktail menus that changes seasonally. They have a small bites menu which includes handrolls! Service was good, attentive and we got a nice view of the bar where the bartenders were amazing! They were shaving down ice for the cocktails. Very cool. The seasonal menu has already changed, so I am not sure of the drinks we got lol both were fun and just okay.. mine came in a cone shape ceramic and very tart? The food was pretty good - some hits and misses. The caviar service was good but came with thin chips that break. I would recommend small pancakes. The sea bream hand rolls were good and the chirashi was very good. The karaage was good but the chive aioli was incredible. Overall cool concept but would love a bigger entree options on their menu. This would open up more patrons to visit who don't want to drop $500 for sushi

These were served together on a black plate. We also added the red dragon roll and the spider roll, which arrived on a white boat plate. We started the meal with edamame and chicken karaage. The presentation was clean, and the rolls provided a solid portion size for a lunch portion. The service was good and attentive throughout our visit. Our waitress was highly informative. She took the time to explain the lunch specials and offered her top menu picks to help us decide. She checked in on the table the right amount of times to ensure we had everything we needed without hovering. The dining room is small and cozy. The space features Japanese-inspired decor, mural walls, booth seating, and low lighting. This gives it more character than a standard strip-center restaurant. Parking is easy. There is an ample parking lot located on the side and behind the building.

The sushi chef is highly skilled, and the quality is evident. The sashimi is cut thick, incredibly fresh, and truly melts in your mouth. A few standouts: the Firetail Jalapeño with fresh yellowtail is a must-order every time. My husband, without hesitation, always orders the Volcano--he considers it the best. After three decades, the consistency, quality, and service are exactly why we keep coming back.

If you're looking for the American hibachi experience, Kobe Japanese Steakhouse is the way to go. I…read morewill jump around a bit with this review as I am returning to writing, but hope that it makes sense as you read it. The restaurant is located conveniently within the Grand Plaza of the Carrollwood area in northern Tampa. The parking spaces in the front does get crowded and full rather quick, however there are plenty of spaces in the back that isn't too far of a walk. The entrance/main door is actually off to the side under the hard structure roofing - you walk through a small section of the outdoor seating patio to get to it. It must be noted that this review and experience is based on the following factors: - The review is written strictly for the American hibachi experience. The restaurant does offer other a la carte options if you don't want the "showmanship" and flair with your dining experience. - A reservation was made through Open Table. I highly recommend making a reservation beforehand. This was purposeful and intentional due to the occasion, and I wanted to make sure we were locked in. I feel that this also made for a smoother seating process as the restaurant had to prepare the table and chef. All in all from arrival to getting seated, we waited no more than 10 minutes after our entire party was present. - There were 12 individuals in our party which also accounted for the prompt seating (I believe you are paired and tetris'd with other guests for smaller parties). 12 is the max that a table can host - anything more will require multiple tables. I want to emphasize at this point how Kobe Japanese Steakhouse is suited for large parties. Most, if not all, the individuals in our party have not had American hibachi for as long as we can remember. We also had children in our party. Taking this all into account, it turned out to be the perfect venue for any type celebratory events (business outings, birthdays, baby showers, etc.) I could not recommend this place enough if you want an "easy winner" to delight the group. Now let's talk about the food and the chef. The quality and taste definitely exceeded our expectations. The food was cooked perfectly and the meats were extremely tender and flavorful. While not the most animated of the chefs there, our particular chef was very attentive to our needs. He ensured that our meal was enjoyable and delicious. Pricing-wise, you're looking at an average cost of $30 to $40 per individual. Overall service was not bad - the most important part was that everyone was welcoming and friendly. Overall, I would highly recommend Kobe Japanese Steakhouse if you are the one planning for a large group!
