    Chicken Hibachi

Ordered takeout from here. Portions were huge for the chicken hibachi. Lots of chicken and vegetables and plenty of rice. The miso soup was delicious as well. Lots of great options on their menu.

This place had a weird smell to it, but decided to dine in regardless. The girl up front was a bit off. We walked in and asked questions since we are vegan and she kinda seemed as if she was annoyed by it or didn't understand what was being said. We ordered fish tofu, plain lo mein and a side of white rice. She mistakenly ordered rice with eggs and we couldn't eat it, but when I told her if we can please have white rice, she looked at me as if it was my fault. Anyways, the lady up front told the cook to change it to white rice only. I hope that she changes up her attitude because the food was delicious and I would go back. However, I treat people accordingly. Delicious food, rude girl. Everyone is entitled to feel what they feel, but never take it out on a customer.

Definitely some of the worst food I've ever eaten. The steak was so gross and slimy and the noodles were dry and had no flavor

Probably the worst hibatchi I have ever had. The steak is not even steak, the rice was over seasoned. Egg rolls were undercooked!

Not true Hibachi, more like Chinese food false advertisement. Food is decent if you want Chinese food but don't call it hibachi.

We were actually on our way to a different Chinese buffet when we accidentally stumbled into AJISAI Hibachi Buffet... and let me tell you, sometimes getting lost is the best thing that can happen! The words "All You Can Eat" had me at hello. For $32.99, the amount of food choices is absolutely insane. Sushi? Check. Hibachi? Check. Seafood? Check. Desserts? Check. Basically, if you leave hungry, that's a personal decision. Now, I walked in hungrier than a hostage... and my daughter? Let's just say she activated her Big Back Scholarship. Every time I looked up, she had another plate like she was training for the Buffet Olympics. I was honestly proud. Everything we tried was fresh, hot, and packed with flavor. The staff kept everything stocked, the restaurant was clean, and the atmosphere was perfect for stuffing your face without judgment. If you're in Tampa visiting your kid at USF, do yourself a favor and stop by AJISAI Hibachi Buffet. Just wear stretchy pants... because your belt is definitely filing a complaint afterward.

Some of the rolls were really good and fresh, and it's easy to get your money's worth if you come hungry. The appetizers were also a highlight for me. That said, the experience felt a little inconsistent. A few items took a while to come out, and some rolls were much better than others quality-wise. It's not the best sushi I've ever had, but for all-you-can-eat, it scratches the itch. Overall, I'd still go back when I'm craving AYCE sushi with friends...just maybe with slightly tempered expectations.

The food, the cocktails, the service and the ambiance are all excellent. My ONLY criticism is sometimes the music can be a little too loud for conversation, but this isn't always so. I'm a cocktail geek and have made multiple trips to The Aviary in Chicago. Believe me, The Aviary has nothing on the Tanto bar program. Cocktails are unique, creative, and delicious. Food was amazing, whether omakase or á la carte. Staff is attentive, fun and playful. Chuck and Nick anchor the beverage service while Tony and Ari will make you feel at home. If you are lucky you may get a visit from Chef Cody. Standout drinks: #1 is Seoul Food. Think the savoriness of a Bloody Mary but without tomatoes. Hard to describe but don't miss it! Other highlights include Opposite Day, Memory in Bloom, and Three Way. Season of Again pairs beautifully with the oysters. I hate to say I have a favorite restaurant, because I choose different places for differing needs, but Tanto has won my heart and tastebuds.

The hostess was pleasant when arriving and presented herself with exceptional sleek style. Someone brought me a palate cleanser drink which was rhubarb and lemongrass water. It was smooth and refreshing. The server guided me through the cocktail menu which was an exploration all its very own. I choose the cocktail called Opposite Day- Japanese whiskey, sweet Sauvignon Blanc, salted wine and roasted beets- twist on a whiskey sour but flipped! Oysters were light and fresh and the juice in the shell was precision clean. It really pops the flavors of the oyster. Yellowtail jalapeño handroll- it is designed to be eaten similar to a taco. The yellowtail was superbly fresh, the jalapeno was a mild touch to accompany the dish and didn't try to be the star. and the homemade soy sauce didn't over power the fish. Duck leg finished with a Szechuan spice and finished a pear au jus. The duck fell off the bone and was bursting with a complex blend of elegant flavors. As you check is presented they served you the tea of the day which was Hibiscus citrus Japanese tea in the most sophisticated teapot sitting on Japanese bamboo, which was a nice touch in the meal Upbeat modern music vibe Helpful, friendly weight staff that explains every item in detail as you order it, and when it brought to the table.

When your food is ready, they call your name over a microphone and you bring it to your table, which is available on a first come first serve basis. There's not really anyone working the front counter, which I thought was interesting. There's picnic tables out front where people were sitting with their dogs, so appears to be pet friendly outside. I had the curry with tofu and vegetables. I ordered spicy and enjoyed it. The heat kind of creeps up on you. I will order this again. BF had the chicken katsu - the chanko sauce was so good on it. The pickled daikon is a great touch, and if you like pickled veggies, that tiger slaw is AMAZING. We ordered a small plum wine to split. Portion sizes are HUGE, so I appreciated that everything was served in to-go containers. We definitely had leftovers that I may or may not have eaten for breakfast this morning. One thing I felt could be improved is that it's a little warm inside. Clearly they know that because there were fans on the counter. It's Florida and it's summer and their kitchen is busy in a small space, so probably the A/C is just a little overwhelmed. Great place overall.

For the quality, variety, and amount of food you can enjoy, it was an absolute bargain. I tried the Out of Control Roll and the Masa Toro Crunchy Roll, and both were excellent. The rolls were beautifully prepared, fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. I also had the sashimi, which was incredibly fresh and delicious, along with the pepper tuna and salmon carpaccio; both were outstanding and some of the highlights of the meal. What impressed me just as much as the food was the atmosphere. The restaurant has a very upscale, modern Japanese feel. The decor is beautiful, the placement of the bar adds to the whole look, and the space feels polished and elegant without being overly formal. It honestly felt like dining at a much more expensive Japanese restaurant. The service was also very good. Everything came out smoothly, the staff was attentive, and the overall experience felt well organized, especially considering we were ordering from an all-you-can-eat menu. What really stood out to me was that the quality never felt compromised just because it was all you can eat. Everything tasted fresh, the presentation was beautiful, the atmosphere was excellent, and the entire family enjoyed the experience. Sushi Masa delivered on food, service, atmosphere, and value. If you love sushi and want to try a wide variety of dishes without watching the bill climb with every order, this place is absolutely worth it. I will definitely be going back. Highly recommend!

The all-you-can-eat menu includes a drink, salads, hot and cold appetizers, sushi rolls, sashimi, fried rice, tempura, and dessert. If everyone in your party chooses the all-you-can-eat option, you can also try each other's dishes. Overall, the dishes we had were okay. The standouts were the sushi rolls, the rocking shrimp (which my friend really enjoyed), and some of the sashimi. One thing I didn't particularly like about some of the rolls and appetizers like the Asian taco was that they were heavily covered in sauce, which could sometimes be overpowering. Some of the sashimi cuts were also a little sloppy. A cleaner, more precise cut would improve the presentation and overall experience. That said, I think the amount of food you get for the price, especially with a drink included, makes it worth checking out. If you're in the area, I'd say give it a try. With a few small improvements in presentation and consistency, I think they could get closer to a four-star experience.

If you're looking for the American hibachi experience, Kobe Japanese Steakhouse is the way to go. I…read morewill jump around a bit with this review as I am returning to writing, but hope that it makes sense as you read it. The restaurant is located conveniently within the Grand Plaza of the Carrollwood area in northern Tampa. The parking spaces in the front does get crowded and full rather quick, however there are plenty of spaces in the back that isn't too far of a walk. The entrance/main door is actually off to the side under the hard structure roofing - you walk through a small section of the outdoor seating patio to get to it. It must be noted that this review and experience is based on the following factors: - The review is written strictly for the American hibachi experience. The restaurant does offer other a la carte options if you don't want the "showmanship" and flair with your dining experience. - A reservation was made through Open Table. I highly recommend making a reservation beforehand. This was purposeful and intentional due to the occasion, and I wanted to make sure we were locked in. I feel that this also made for a smoother seating process as the restaurant had to prepare the table and chef. All in all from arrival to getting seated, we waited no more than 10 minutes after our entire party was present. - There were 12 individuals in our party which also accounted for the prompt seating (I believe you are paired and tetris'd with other guests for smaller parties). 12 is the max that a table can host - anything more will require multiple tables. I want to emphasize at this point how Kobe Japanese Steakhouse is suited for large parties. Most, if not all, the individuals in our party have not had American hibachi for as long as we can remember. We also had children in our party. Taking this all into account, it turned out to be the perfect venue for any type celebratory events (business outings, birthdays, baby showers, etc.) I could not recommend this place enough if you want an "easy winner" to delight the group. Now let's talk about the food and the chef. The quality and taste definitely exceeded our expectations. The food was cooked perfectly and the meats were extremely tender and flavorful. While not the most animated of the chefs there, our particular chef was very attentive to our needs. He ensured that our meal was enjoyable and delicious. Pricing-wise, you're looking at an average cost of $30 to $40 per individual. Overall service was not bad - the most important part was that everyone was welcoming and friendly. Overall, I would highly recommend Kobe Japanese Steakhouse if you are the one planning for a large group!

They use an exorbitant amount of butter, salt, and sauce...to the point where it overwhelms everything. Better make an appointment with your cardiologist after this meal! I will give credit where it's due: Ty, our chef, was great. He kept the table entertained and laughing with his jokes, and he was easily the highlight of the experience. I know Kobé has a very loyal following, and clearly plenty of people love it, but it's just not for me. I'll be skipping this place in the future and sticking with Benihana when I want hibachi.
