Small dining area, but not too bad. The ambience and the staff were nice. The food not so much though. The clear soup tasted ok. Not as rich as I'm use to with other places. The shrimp didn't seem too well cooked for my taste. I like a harder more charred taste to my shrimp. The rice and the veggies were good. The sushi was about average. Ok so it's in the plaza near publix in case your trying to find it. I got 3 different rolls a little over $31bucks not bad. But when I taste them I will continue this review. Although it was only 1 person sitting in the restaurant seems they have alot of call ins and door dash. Food was not bad but it doesn't come with spicy mayo or eel sauce on the side just soy sauce . Thank you fellow yelpers for guiding us to this "hot & new" place for sushi and hibachi! We thoroughly enjoyed not only the delicious food, but also chatting with our server (perhaps manager and/or part owner?). He shared with us their high standards for using quality ingredients such as fresh seafood and angus beef. This was evidenced in the Triple Delight Hibachi dinner (steak, shrimp & chicken) as well as the Spicy Tuna and Firecracker rolls we enjoyed. The salad and miso soup which came with the hibachi dinner were also very tasty. We also enjoyed watching a World Cup soccer match on their large screen tv while we dined! I visited for lunch with a couple of coworkers. We wanted to try it based on all the 5 star reviews. It's hidden in a strip mall off of Martin Luther King Blvd and it looked very promising. We each ordered different items. I decided to try the basic sushi bento lunch. The salad with ginger dressing was very good. I really liked their dressing. I wasn't that impressed though with the taste of the sushi nigiri. The tuna and salmon didn't have much of a flavor. The California roll was very average. I've had better preparations in Brandon, Riverview, and Valrico. The Thai Tea was good, but not as good as others in the area. My coworkers thought their meals were pretty average too. On a positive note, we did feel that the price was right. All lunch meals were under $10. I'm not sure I'll be going back for a second visit. Maybe if I happen to be in the area. I just wasn't wowed by anything except for the ginger dressing. That's just not enough to keep me coming back for more. read more

Such a good place! Randomly stopped by after being on this side of town and not sure where to go! So good! Inside appearance is a lot better than the outside but it was awesome. This place is a favorite restaurant of my good friend. She has been to Japan and loves sushi and all things Japanese. On my second visit I found it just as delightful as my first. The service is always friendly and gracious. I ate the salmon teriyaki bento box. Excellent lunch. My friend ordered a sushi bento box and another ordered 3 sushi rolls. Everyone agreed their lunch was delicious and we will meet there again soon. Lovely small local family restaurant with smiling service and good food. What more can you ask for? Oh. The lunchtime prices are very reasonable. Go there before anyone finds out and they have to raise them. read more

I stopped by while I was in town for work. I got the hurricane roll and the chicken hibachi. The roll was decent but the hibachi was amazing. I'd definitely recommend getting the hibachi over anything else - it's a great value for your money. The service was really great despite them being understaffed. There was a WASP in my togo order and when I called to ask for my money back I was argued with and hung up on. Horrible customer service and 0 accountability. I said multiple times over the phone there is a BUG in my food and she clearly understood me and asked if I wanted a new order of Crab Rangoon after I explained the bug was DEAD AND DEEP FRIED IN MY FOOD! I asked for a full refund and she argued with me about it and decided to hang up on me. So I went to the restaurant and as soon as I walked in the husband and wife both ran to the counter as soon as I walked in and asked to see my food before I even said anything. They examined the food and asked again if I wanted a new order which I kindly said no I wanted a full refund and I'm not eating any of the food in my order which was all brought back untouched (besides the Rangoon since that was our appetizer we started to eat before we noticed the wasp). The wife was very upset to refund me and told me it was their supplier that brought the food in like that and not the restaurants fault. Ma'am, I don't care how a bug got in my food, your establishment sold me food like this and when I asked her why she hung up on me she said "my manager told me to". That's not how you handle business or treat a customer. HORRIBLE customer service and I will NEVER eat here again. This cute little sushi place is in a shopping plaza in Seffner and doesn't seem like much from the outside, but it's a nice spot for a date, quick lunch or family dinner. I've sat down for dinner and done take out and I'd say the quality of the food is there and it tasted fresh and made to order. I've had hibachi noodles and rice, hibachi chicken and steak, tempura veggies, volcano roll, hell roll, hand rolls and seaweed salad. The only thing I can say that I was very disappointed in was the basic-ness of the hand roll. There were no veggies or avocado or anything. Just seaweed, rice and fish. It seemed a little thrown together and I just wish there was a little bit more love in making it. Outside of that, everything else has been very good. The Hell roll was a specialty roll and it didn't disappoint! The tempura veggies and sauce were delicious and the noodles had lot of flavor considering I was just expecting a basic starchy side. Overall, I think it's worth a try if you're in the area. The staff is very kind and accommodating as well. read more

Kiso is a hidden gem. This restaurant is in a very unassuming location on MLK in the Walmart Plaza next to Publix, but don't let the deter you! We enjoyed a lovely meal with a number of flavorful rolls. The Pumpkin Pumpkin was my favorite. I'm not sure why it's called that (there is no pumpkin). It does include crab, scallop, salmon, and shrimp. The vegetable tempura was also fantastic! The presentation of our meal was brilliant. We also had the pleasure of being served by the owner and enjoyed some polite conversation at the end of our meal. I highly recommend that you give Kiso a try! read more

The restaurant is in a strip mall next to Publix and close to Walmart. We ordered several rolls and the quality was poor. The strips of fish on the rolls were thin and all rolls were placed on a tray that was coated with a dark thick sticky sauce which was absorbed into the bottom of all of the rolls. Not a good idea imo. I can't imagine any good reason to return to this establishment. read more

When I first walked in I was worried because it smelled fishy. I eat at sushi restaurant a lot and have never eaten at one that had a fishy smell. We came by to try a new sushi place. The waiter was also the cashier and taking call in orders. He was very busy but attentive to us. We had steak and shrimp hibachi and the volcano roll, sweat heart roll and Japanese bagel roll. The soup and salad was good and the hibachi was good but would get double vegetables next time instead of rice. The volcano and sweat heart were very good, bagel roll was ok. The restaurant was clean but as others said the music is odd, not what you expect. We will be back again. read more

The food was great and the prices were very reasonable. Their goyza sauce was soooo good and so is their tuna tataki. The sushi rolls were good and tasted fresh. I ordered a rainbow roll without reading the menu since I order that all the time and I always get basically a California roll with fish on top. Anyways when it came out I see they put cream cheese in it! My arch nemesis, I hate cream cheese in my sushi. I informed them that I really didn't realize they had cream cheese in their rainbow roll and without skipping a beat they quickly prepared one without it. Definitely a place to check out! read more

A great little place hidden in a Seffner shopping center. I took my wife here for date night. The meal and service were exactly what I wanted for our date. The staff was friendly and professional without being intrusive. The restaurant was clean and well lit while the seating was spacious and comfortable. Our food was awesome, we ordered from all over the menu and everything we ordered came out timely and delicious.
