The noodles had good chew and the overall portion size was solid. The dipping broth was also decently seasoned, however I do wish it was a bit more reduced for a more intense flavor. I had been wanting to check this place out for a while and finally made it to have dinner with some girlfriends. I was very excited for the Ramen and all the other dishes but as soon as I walked in, I was hit with a weird odor that was kind of hard to dismiss. As we sat down, the smell kind of went away, but it was still lingering in the air. I ordered a dish and told the server several times to not put a certain ingredient in it as well as a certain protein and it came back with the ingredient on it and the protein I didn't want. Then I had asked to add a different protein to the dish and it wasn't added. I proceeded to ask for the protein that I had asked for and received it all the way at the end when I was finishing up my meal. It's been awhile since I last visited Michi Ramen - last visit was about 2 years ago - and unfortunately, some things have changed. I loved their Tonkotsu Ramen before which was super creamy and rich, however, the quality has changed. Their Tonkotsu Ramen today was more on the blander side and a bit watered down. They also changed their noodles. Their noodles used to be the chewy, al dente egg ramen noodles but the noodles now seem to be plain, thin, store-bought flour noodles. Their Eel Rice Bowl was pretty good though; it was a large portion with perfectly grilled eel with a sweet and smoky glaze with plenty of rice. Otherwise, service was quick and the food came out in a timely manner. The restaurant itself is spacious and decor was nice. So overall, it was not bad but it was disappointing to see the changes because I was so excited to eat here again. read more

I am so disappointed. I have eaten here before and the food was good. Today for lunch I had the braised pork bowl (a favorite), the pork was almost all fat! It is covered in sauce so it is difficult to see what you are eating. I thought it was just the first few bites but after inpecting the leftovers at home, it really was mostly fat. One of the few highly rated restaurants in the area that opens until 10pm on a weekday night. It was very busy around 8pm but we were seated right away. The atmosphere is pleasant and bathrooms are clean. We ordered our drinks and food and while the kitchen was a bit slow, the food came out hot and delicious. We had a few "custom requests" like separating out the toppings and rice for the braised pork belly dish - they were happy to accommodate and took care to make the presentation pretty. This hidden gem is located in cross creek .I went to usual spot but it was too crowded. It's more POKE FORWARD. But they also have a separate menu for Vietnamese, delicacies and pho. I ordered my usual chicken pho with beef broth and my Vietnamese rolls with peanut sauce on the side. The soup broth was delicious and so much umami nice and hot. Just what I needed. The pork in the ramen bowl was way over cooked but other than that it was really good. Good flavor on the broth with the right amount of spice. While I appreciate the check I actually wasn't ready for it yet as I had just literally put down my spoon and chopsticks. The cleanliness of the place left a bit to be desired. The table they sat me at had straws and straw wrappers still on the floor. Then I looked around same problem throughout the restaurant. I don't think they clean the floors at each table turnover. We ordered their crispy chicken wings (they looked wonderful); the pork chasu bun appetizer (with a nice soft "bun"); a house salad (with fresh crisp lettuce and a tasty ginger dressing); a kanisu salad (a large portion; with krab, masago, and avocado over cucumber); We also had a variety of their ramen dishes -- with miso; spicy; with chicken broth and pork broth; with chicken, with pork; with shrimp. I had their yuzu shoyu -- a chicken broth base -- with shrimp. I think it would have been better with pork or chicken, though there was a lot of shrimp. And a lot of noodles and bamboo shoots along with seaweed, fish cake slices, and a half boiled egg. I asked for added bok choy but they gave me regular cabbage instead. No problem, I like cabbage too. The bowls are large and had we not been staying at a hotel, I would have taken leftovers home. As they'd opened during 2020 (at the beginning of the pandemic), we'd never been here before. They welcomed us with open arms, asked us how many people, we told them how many, and they so happily sat us down. They were all smiles, laughing, and so happy to see us, I think they forgot what their role was in the restaurant, lol! All of us ordered our drinks, which by the way... The mango green tea is to die for! I ordered water, but I took a sip of my sons mango green tea lol! All of us ordered the Tonkotsu, but in different flavors. One of us ordered regular, another ordered spicy, and the other one ordered black garlic. I tasted all of them, and they were all very delicious... Except the spicy made me choke LOL but it was very good! Several times the server came over, patted me on my back got down in my face and cut jokes with me lol. Delicious and filling! My boyfriend and I both got the tonkotsu ramen noodles. I got black garlic and he got a mix of spicy and black garlic. The spicy oil does have quite a bit of kick to it! Hmm, I've been here 3 times, but three times too many. It's the only ramen place around here. They make sure it is super cold inside, and then you order ramen. They have a handful of ramen options, 3 rice bowl options, and some apps and salad. They only have one seafood option for ramen which is the curry seafood ramen. On the menu online they say the shoyu ramen has an option with shrimp and fish cakes, but when you see the menu in person, that's not even an option. I think my curry seafood ramen is not served consistently from looking at the two pictures. There's more crab meat and an egg in the first pic rather than the second one which doesn't have an egg and has a single skinny leg of crab meat. The server is overzealous. She comes back every three to five minutes and doesn't know what social distancing is. I'm really done with this place. I usually come here on a Friday, and I don't want to eat meat and would rather have seafood. But if curry seafood ramen is the only option, it's definitely not a favorite and not appealing. This place is often empty when I come in so why do they want to put me in the booth right next to the other people.
