Every time I stumble upon a new Nara Thai location (for me), I'm jumping for joy. All of the places provide excellent customer service, great food, & positive vibes. It was pretty empty for dinner but lots of to go orders.

Delivery only. My lovely cousin surprised me with dinner. She has ordered from here before for me and it's decent. Order: crispy vegetable fried rolls, papaya salad, yellow curry, glass noodles, mango sticky rice, 2 Mexican cokes Door dash for it here pretty promptly so everything was still hot. Crispy vegetable fried rolls (3/5) - filling was kind of bland and mushed up when I bit into it - the sauce was not sweet as I had hoped Papaya salad (2.5/5) - my auntie makes papaya salad and I measure them all by hers and unfortunately I just wasn't a fan, it was ok but nothing that I would crave Classic yellow curry (3/5) - flavor was there, the potatoes are somewhat undercooked in the middle and they kind of skimped on the chicken unlike previous order, there was a lot of curry which I enjoyed over the heaping box of rice Pad woon sen (4/5) - the glass noodles were my favorite again, there were 3 pieces of shrimp and chicken mixed in (extra charge) but overall it was tasty, the glass noodles were cooked perfectly and the seasoning was nice and not overpowering Mango sticky rice (2/5) - probably not something for delivery as it's better eaten very warm - the rice was not soft enough and could have used more of the coconut sauce Who am I to complain about gifted food? I def recommend the glass noodles and the yellow curry. Both were tasty. Maybe one day I'll find my way inside the shop.

The service was good. The food was also good. All dishes we ordered were medium spicy and it came out just enough for us. The Pad Thai is on the sweeter side and the we wished both our dishes had more kiss of the wok (wok-hey). The 3 dishes were $48 before tips and we had some leftovers. We sat near the window so we can people watch. It was a lovely experience overall.

Was craving Tom Yum soup, so I picked Nara Thai tonight. Really good broth. Even at a spice level 1 it had some kick. I was worried the bow wouldn't be big enough, but it was a good portion size. Only thing I would maybe change is more cilantro, less mushrooms. I also ordered some fresh rolls to start. There were 2 rolls cut in half, and they were very large. A good size appetizer for 2 people. Few other items on the menu looked good that I may have to try next time. The eggplant basil and the fried rice dishes caught my attention. They were not too busy with dine-in, but there was a steady stream of to-go orders. The restaurant has a nice open and clean feeling to it. Neat decor around the bar too.

Jacky provided us great service and the food was all hot and fresh made to order. Very nice experience and very fair prices. Nice decor.

My friend and I go back and forth on what's the better Thai place. She said 'Nara so I gave it a try tonight. Definitely good price. I got basil fried rice -chicken- 02 spicy. And if this is level 2 I cannot imagine hot. I love spicy food and this is immediate hiccups spicy. The other flavors are good but the rice is a little dry. Doesn't seem to have any veggies and is just chicken and rice with a fried egg. Idk I'm not a fan. I say go to Ar-Haan and pay the extra bucks

So disappointed that Nara has degraded so quickly. The food quality has dropped under what must be new management. I had the pad kra pow with chicken. It lacked the flavor it has previously had. Service was abysmal. I had to ask numerous times for refills and then again for my check. There were only two other tables at the time.

Parking, structure behind the restaurant and they provided 2 hours free. Saturday afternoon, the restaurant was basically empty, one other couple there. It's a nice quaint storefront, the bar looked like they could make anything and a good selection of beers. Something that I believe a lot of places could work on, the staff that seats you or brings the menu's, it doesn't hurt to be friendly. Return a "hello", something, just a little welcoming. Remember, you more employees than customers at the time we came in. The good, drunken noodles slightly more than mild spice were delicious. The spice went well with the Chang beers. We also got the Thai wings, really not something I would order again. Pretty basic. Even the dipping sauce "sweet Thai" wasn't much help. We were in Houston for the weekend and thought we would give Thai a try, I'd go back to try anything spicy and have a beer with it.

The reason why I'm giving them 3 stars is because the most of the food were delicious. Service, on the other hand, were terrible. Upon arriving for lunch with my two girls, we were told to sit anywhere we'd like since it was pretty empty. Only 2 other tables were already occupied. After we sat down, it took the server an extra few minutes to come and take our orders for drinks. On a hot summer day, you would think she had some sense to bring us water without asking. We ordered 3 Thai teas and water. She brought back 3 Thai teas and 1 water. Fried calamari was not fresh, too chewy, barely any calamari, and overly breaded (to hide the fact it wasn't fresh). Aside from that, the rest of the food were phenomenal. We were still sitting there and talking, our server decided to bring me my check. We weren't even finish eating yet and wanted to place an order with dessert. Even though the business weren't busy at the moment, they need to train their staff to tend to the customers. She also spend more time tending to another table who came in for a quick lunch and going to the back of the kitchen instead of checking on us to see if we needed anything else. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Will not return.

My first time trying Thai & I highly recommend this place. Having Jackie (idk if I spelled his name correctly) was so helpful and welcoming. Food was amazing. And they play great music! They have a cool happy hour everyday also! Check them out!!!

    Pad Thai with shrimp

Came here for dinner before heading to a bar in Montrose. I ordered the drunken noodles, and my friend got the pad thai. Drunken noodles are normally my favorite dish to get at Thai restaurants, but the pad thai here is what impressed me! Definitely one of the best pad Thais I've had in a long time! It was flavorful with a good amount of sauce. Not dry at all. And the shrimp was cooked just right. The drunken noodles were okay, but the noodles were a little undercooked and tougher than they should've been. We got the Thai tea as well, which was pretty good. Tasted just how it should. Our waitress was attentive and the space was clean. They also have $1 glasses and $5 bottles of Martha Stewart's Chardonnay. I wasn't a huge fan of it, but for $1, it's hard to complain! They also validate parking at the nearby parking garage.

Green Curry Beef, Tom Yum soup with chicken, jasmine tea.

I stopped by for a post-theatre late lunch so it was very quiet except for steady take-out orders. I ordered hot jasmine tea, Tom Yum soup with chicken and Green Curry Beef. The temperature of everything was hot and the spice levels were as requested (I requested mild on the green curry). The green curry dish comes with eggplant, basil, red bell peppers and I chose green beans as the side. Very tasty! My waiter was very considerate and kept checking to see that everything was good. The prices were reasonable and I will definitely return.

We had to order take out on a Friday night because it was 10 mins before closing (9pm on Fridays) and they processed the order incredibly fast. All tables were full when we picked up so I'm sure busy nights will be a bit of a wait to get in. We asked for "medium" spice but the receipt had been defaulted to "mild" thank god. It was still a decent amount of spice and any more I would have probably been sweating like crazy. So I would recommend starting off with mild and go from there unless you are a glutton for punishing spice. Their mild seems to be more like medium / hot at an Americanized Thai joint. Pad Kee Mow with chopped chicken was delicious. Fresh crunchy green beans and bell peppers, onions and tomatoes perfectly cooked with the perfect spicy basil sauce. Noodles all had sauce on them. Large serving size and great price. We also got papaya salad which was just right and nice spice. I wish I could come here often and try everything else on the menu.

There's a sign-in sheet. While we waited, we took a look at their two-aisle mini store, which is in the same room as the restaurant. We bought some interesting snacks and looked at the menus until we were messaged. Once we sat down, we shared fried tofu and chive cakes. They were amazing. The fried tofu was evenly crispy with a soft, piping-hot fluffy inside. (The sauce doesn't contain any fish sauce, since one of us was vegetarian.) The chive cakes were both crispy and mochi-like. I had the Thai iced tea and pompano fish. The staff scared us about the spice level, so we all started off with mild and a small variety of chili sauce, oil, and powder on the side. The ones who changed their minds to mild actually used them. So now we know that if you like medium spicy, go with the second-lowest level. I was fine with mild and ate my whole fish. Loved it. Our waitress was quick, but the kitchen... not so much. We all ended up eating at different times because we didn't want anyone's dishes to get too cold while waiting for the rest to come to the table. By the time my dish came, the first two main dishes were already finished (rice and noodle-based), and the third dish (curry) had already been at the table for a while. I also noticed another table that sat after us got all of their dishes (noodles and rice) before my dish came. The food timing needs some work. If you want a quick meal, I think their rice and noodles are the fastest. But the pompano fish was amazing. If you know how to debone a fish or eat one with bones, get this dish. There's free parking out front and in the grassy lot next to it.

As for the mains, the Spicy Seafood Fried Rice is a good value as it was loaded with all sort of fruits of the sea (shrimp, squid, and mussel), with prominent lemongrass and kaffir lime aroma, but a bit wet or moist for a fried rice dish, the Crabmeat Omelet is served with a nice portion of lump crabmeat where you can taste the flavor of the seafood and add sriracha to liking, and the Beef Pad See Ew is made appetizing with wok charred flat rice noodles along with a savory blend of soy sauce, Chinese broccoli and egg. The portion size is alright and filling for a moderately hungry individual, though it would've been even better a tad bigger for those coming in hangry. It could easily reach that level. Our waitress, Ann, was incredibly kind, soft spoken, and welcoming. My friend Sherita suggested this restaurant after we left a Yelp office hour, and I'm so glad she did because it introduced me to something I never knew I needed: the salmon mango fried rice. It was absolutely amazing. I originally planned to take some home for my son to try, but it was so delicious that I finished every bite in one sitting. Sherita had visited earlier in the week and tonight shared that she arrived; right before I walked in which was 30 minutes before closing time, Jackie told her to hurry up and order, even though she already knew exactly what she wanted and didn't even need a menu. Jackie response was unprofessional and didn't even wait till the table guest got to the table, which was less than seconds since we all arrive at the same time, and left the same place. During our visit, Jackie never brought us water. A couple who was seated after us received water before we did. It took over 10 minutes for us to get water. Ann took great care of us, but anytime we wanted a refill, we had to ask. At one point my glass was completely empty. I noticed Jackie refilling the water glasses for a table of six, so I managed to get his attention. He looked directly at me, scanned the room, then stomped away all fast without acknowledging my request. Instead, he told Ann that we wanted water, and she graciously brought it over. Even at the end of our meal, Jackie stood behind the register while my friends waited to pay, yet another employee ended up taking their payment. His overall energy felt very cold and unwelcoming. My friend even joked that it was probably for the best that he didn't refill my water because of the energy he was carrying. As someone who believes water absorbs energy, I honestly agreed. I'm grateful Ann was the one who served us with such kindness. The restaurant itself has such a peaceful, zen atmosphere. The greenery outside and the warm lighting inside create a cozy neighborhood spot that I truly want to love and revisit with my son. Thank you , Sherita for introducing me and Aaliyah to this hidden gem. I completely understand why you visited twice in one week. I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu, and hopefully next time the hospitality matches the quality of the food.
