I've been at this campground the past week. Next time I'm in the area this will be my park again. Right on the water. Awesome spacious dog park. I had apple trees at my site. My dog loved them. Bigger RV sites. Quiet campground. Wasn't a lot of kids. There is a pool but it was closed for the season. Lots of equipment to play outside. Bad mitten and horse shoes to mention a few. There was in an indoor area with lots of chairs and kitchen from what I could see. Locked the couple times I went by. Maybe seasonal. Showers were three individual rooms (one bigger handicap) Never seen that before. Liked it. I never used them. Huge laundry room. Ladies in office were really friendly. I went in to ask a question and we must have talked half an hour. They gave us lots of suggestions on things to do and places to eat. There is free bus service available. Not sure how it works. We drove our car everywhere. The whole camp ground is kept up 100%. Hard working employees and it shows. Highly recommend!

The Cafe is wayyyyyy OVERPRICED, the campground is boring and overcrowded. The General Manager is awful doesn't care about any complaints or concerns you have he's nasty and unwilling to help with concerns. The staff is nice they treated you friendly. It's way way way to overpriced isn't child friendly with only one playground that's not that nice. The maintenance staff is very nice and help in anyway. Not to mention Bar Harbor itself although beautiful downtown restaurants food is awful and with only t-shirt shops or ice cream stores so if you're looking for some shopping you'll only get t-shirts. So all and all I'd skip Bar Harbor and go to Candem Maine but if you go definitely ski the KOA.

For years my wife has wanted to stay at this campground and when we finally made it happen it was such a disappointment. We booked our stay in March 2025, and reserved an ocean front back in site water electric. We arrive and they have is in a pull through across from the Ocean Front site we booked water and electric. My wife called the office to see if a mistake was make and Brenda at the office implied that my wife had no idea what she had reserved even though we had an email confirmation showing we had reserved an ocean front site. Brenda then completely dismissed my wife saying well we don't have any available anyway. There was no attempt to make this right whatsoever. We understand booking issues arise but for no communication prior to our arrival of the change was frustrating especially since we would have chosen a full hookup site had we been informed of the unavailability of an ocean front site. Our site was incredibly unleveled causing us to be unable to use the main entrance to our camper requiring our guests to walk through our bedroom to gain access to the bathroom and living room of our camper. We had emailed the campground about the experience as their handout requested to contact them before writing a bad review. Well it's over two weeks later and no one has responded to my wife's email. I would strongly recommend you skip this KOA they certainly do not care about your experience just your money!

Gravel and grass site, including picnic table. Sites were pretty level. Laundromat was clean $2.50 wash $2.50 to dry. We are in late September so it was fine. Didn't like that we could not WASH our unit without being charged. You have to ask permission/charge. We didn't ask. The areas are very clean and well maintained. During heavy rain for two days it flooded in places, we were fine. It was super quiet when we were here. The area seemed close to everything we wanted and easy to find. There were a couple of KOA's down the road with more ammendites but we don't like KOA's,

Arcade, pavilion with activities, on-site restaurant, and spotless coin laundry (tons of machines) Paved roads (great for kids biking/scootering) and level gravel sites Full hookups with no issues Great Starlink connectivity Quiet nights and peaceful atmosphere Location: Close to Acadia National Park and the cute town of Ellsworth--check out Helen's and Momo's Cheesecakes! Also near great hiking and tide pooling spots. Vibe: This place is family-owned and it shows. Staff was kind and check-in was smooth. We attended their Christmas in July celebration and loved the live music night. Lots of friendly people and--surprisingly--tons of families with young kids. Our boys made friends and played outside for hours every day. Value: We compared 10+ campgrounds in the area and this was one of the best values for full hookups, amenities, and location. We'd 100% stay again.

The best part here is the view and the service, kids work here are very friendly knowledgeable and helpful. This site is more than 30 minutes from the acclaimed destination (Acadia park). The on site dining is a bunch of kids (no chef) heating up food. The brochure promised a view of the ocean but our tent was so far away there was no view from our tent. Question. Why put the registration tent near the best part of the campgrounds? The tents are on top of each other so there's no privacy. There's no attention to your needs unless you call for it. For example we were told about animals coming to the tent (pretty sure that's mice because we saw one on the path) but no one came to clean the garbage. We carried our own bags on a wagon provide a LONG way to our tent. Because parking is far from your tent. We were given one large towel each. When I called for an extra (for my long hair) the staff came and gave two new ones and removed the other ones. We had to ask daily for the battery packs. They should have been dropped off with new kindling EVERY DAY for the price paid. The wood AND kindling were wet. Not seasoned. So annoying to get a fire going. Ran out of matches. And when asked you are given two small (I mean SMALL) fire starters. The shower was the worst. Each time the water would heat so high I got burned. On my scalp and my face. There is only a 3/4 wall around the toilet and shower so you better love the one you're with because there are no secrets! The bed however was nice. I'll never do this again. For the money spent, the experience was lack luster and there were NO amenities. The staff was nice but again it was a bunch of older teens. DISAPPOINTING

Bad Experience: Prior to booking our reservation, we called and spoke with someone about our specific gear needs and they recommended a few sites that we should request in order to fit and feel comfortable. While there was an additional fee to reserve a specific site, we were told to book online and enter the range of sites we preferred and one of those would be reserved. You can imagine our frustration and panic when we arrived to what I would call one of the smallest tent sites in the campground - one that wouldn't fit our 6 person tent, let alone our second tent, our screen house, and leave space for a car. We expressed our frustration with the woman at the counter who apologized for the misinformation we were given. She then explained that for an additional charge, we could upgrade to an RV site because all of the large tent sites were reserved. Mind you, we just drove 2.5 hours and it's now dinner time so driving back home wasn't quite an option. I was not impressed to find out that as a result of one of their employees providing us misinformation, we could pay even more for a larger site. I would have just paid the small fee to book a specific site had I been told this was going to happen to us. People make mistakes, that's understandable - though it's frustrating to leave us in a position to be forced to pay more as a result. After further negotiations, the woman at the counter did upgrade us and provided us a small discount - resulting in us paying an additional $15 above the original reservation. Note: this experience won't prevent us from visiting again in the future. We've just learned that we are better off booking over the phone and paying the fee to reserve a specific site. The Good: - the campground and facilities are clean and well kept - the staff are friendly - the pool is nice, clean, and kept at a nice warm temp on cooler days - the campground offers fun activities to entertain families - the Island Explorer is a free shuttle bus that will bring you into town so you don't have to compete for parking - it's located about 20 minutes from Acadia NP and from Bar Harbor with plenty of stores in either direction for all of your forgotten items

But on the other hand there is typically always a wait because in Bathroom area only has 8 and if people aren't going in with there significant others it fills up fast. There is also free WiFi which is nice. The amenities were great The camping site was extremely small. We could barely fit our small 3 person tent. The fire ring was only steps from the area we could put the tent. And then there was the opening to the field that we could see other tents as well as the play area for people. It was hard to get any privacy, I could clearly hear my neighbor tenters, and we didn't have many trees so it made it hard to hang things. We made the most of our site but the next morning when our neighbors left we asked if we could switch to that site because it was more secluded and they wouldn't let us which was a little disappointing. The pool was closed the whole time for some reason (I didn't know why). The place is pretty nice, the people are nice, but I was hoping for a better site. I am used to camping deep in the woods so this is just a personal opinion but I prefer more privacy but I didn't know!
