I ordered a Chashu bowl and it came in a small rice bowl, which was a perfect amount for me as I wasn't very hungry. It was small and mighty with a jam egg, 2 slices of Chashu and a bed of rice. I just wish the meat was tender and rice was less dry. My fiancé ordered the Katsudon and liked it. The servers kept dropping by to check on us so we did feel taken care of. Overall it's a good place for some ramen if you are in the mood.

Takes 10 minutes for our orders to arrive. Wife's $18 vegetable ramen is bean sprouts, onions, carrots and bell peppers in a Tonkatsu broth. Slightly on the spicy side, wife liked it well enough to finish all the vegetables, leaving a small amount of the broth -too salty by itself. My $20 Chashu ramen also comes with 4 pieces of slices of chashu in a tonkatsu broth, but not as spicy as the vegetable ramen. Both dishes have a good amount of thin but tasty yellow ramen noodles., combined with bits of green onions. Loved the broth but wished the chashu were thicker -they were cut into slices no more than 1/8th of an inch thick, so the actual amount of pork was on the small side. Other than skimping on the amount of pork, the dish could have had some bean sprouts in it. Next time will order the $2 egg and the $3 option for more noodles. Price competitive with Hapa Kauai which has ramen noodle dishes at $27-$33, including the hard boiled egg. We came on a clear day, but it rains a lot in Kauai. Would not like to climb up and down the 20 outdoor stairs without a landing.

The staff are very welcoming as soon as you check in for your reservation. I recommend that you make reservations ahead of time. One year we tried to walk in right when they opened and we were told that they did not have any tables available. I ordered the Slow Roasted short ribs, which is one of my favorites. The short ribs were so tender and seasoned very well. Each bite was flavorful. It paired well with the root vegetables and potato au gratin. The poi and the lomi tomato may sound like a strange pairing with the short ribs, but somehow it works. Overall it was a fantastic dish, and very rich to the palate if that is something you're in the mood for. My daughter ordered the Misoyaki Butterfish. I personally have never ordered it as a meal but I think that next time I will. It was so flavorful, and the Asian flavors were delicious. The Chinese cabbage and shiitake mushrooms paired well with the entire dish. The sesame chili sauce that comes on the side just tied everything together. I could not stop going back for more. My husband ordered the ramen and he loved the flavor of the broth. There was a nice spice to it that was not overpowering. Let's just say, he finished the entire bowl. We also ordered a regular chocolate soufflé and a peanut butter soufflé which were both delicious. I recommend them both. I knocked off a star because the waters weren't always filled when you needed them to be, and I found myself wanting more water but it took a while for the server to fill them. The plates weren't cleared readily (as you would expect) and we waited 20 minutes after our meal was completed for the soufflés. Usually the server would ask ahead of time if the table would like to order a soufflé because it takes about 20 minutes to bake. We told our server we wanted to order soufflés pretty much when we ordered our entrees. So I'm not sure why we waited so long for them. Overall, this is a fantastic restaurant and I highly recommend you dining here!

Customer service is always top notch and i've been going here every time i come to kaua'i for vacation. Night time or should I say late night for Kaua'i standard time. It's a food truck we saw on the side of the road and it was still open even at 11 pm now for Kaua'i which is never heard of.Friendly staff. The ramen was okay needed some hot sauce and a little more flavor. My wife said her food was just okay. A chicken thigh skewer for $4.75 was succulent, perfectly seared and a must! Three tender skewers of chicken satay for $7.95 with the best Thai peanut sauce I've ever tasted. I got 2 veggie summer rolls for the plane ride back to the mainland, which were the perfect red eye food packed with fresh veggies and with a sweet chili sauce side. The bun bo hue was a bit non-traditional -- oxtail instead of pig trotter, no blood cake, and thin noodles instead of the usual thicker ones. The broth was pretty average, if albeit salty. The oxtail was super fatty. The broth wasn't hot enough to cook the meat slices. Average experience. It satisfied the need but likely won't come here again.
