I loved being able to stop by Frugal McDougal to pick out what drinks I wanted instead of showing up at a bar and selecting from whatever they offer (HELLLOOO you gorgeous double IPA's and other hefty craft beers not served at tourist bars!) The process was pretty simple. You booked your tour through their stunningly simple online system. Show up at the meeting point (PRO TIP: If you don't have a car while you're in Nashville to get to a bigger booze vendor, Big Green Tractor Tours meets in the parking lot of a liquor store.) It's impossible to miss the massive tractors and trailers with the festive multicolored dancing lights. I love to wave at people. It is a favorite activity of mine (I know it's weird.) While on the tour you get to see so many different people, the fee to get on the Big Green Tractor Tours is totally worth the people watching! And your personal bartender on the Big Green Tractor Tour will keep you well lubricated to keep those wrists a-waving at all the onlookers. Both the driver and bartender on our Big Green Tractor Tour were SO hospitable and kind. They cracked jokes and made us feel welcome while we were in Nashville. Before Amy took us on our tour, another staff member explained how the headphones worked and what type of music plays....includes 70's, 80's and 90's, Country and Pop/Rock. At one point everyone was listening to YMCA and doing the dance that goes with the song. Tour is about 12 minutes long and we cruised through the atrium which took us through every section of the resort. There are lush gardens, waterfalls and it is very peaceful even with the music. I jammed out to Opalite by Taylor Swift and Amy and I chatted about her recent wedding and how happy we are for her! It was so nice that I plan to take another regular tour during my time at the resort. FIVE STARS!

The Opry is one of those places I have been to several times over the years, and it was great getting to come back and enjoy it again with friends. I have seen some amazing artists perform here over the years, including Garth Brooks, Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley, and Brad Paisley. There is something special about being inside the Opry and knowing how many legendary country artists have stood on that stage before you. It really is one of those Nashville places that feels like it is part of the history of country music. This visit was a little different because we were not there specifically for a concert. We were in town for the football game and spent part of the weekend exploring Nashville with friends. We stopped by the Opry, walked around, took some pictures, and just enjoyed being there. It was a great way to spend some time at one of the most recognizable places in Nashville. Even after seeing some incredible shows here over the years, the Grand Ole Opry still has that same special feeling. There is so much history packed into the place, and you can really appreciate how important it has been to country music. We had a great time stopping by during our Nashville trip. Whether you are seeing a show or just visiting the area and taking in the history, I definitely recommend making the Grand Ole Opry part of your Nashville experience. It is always a great stop for me, and this visit with my friends was another memorable one.
