Please avoid coming to this office my family have been going here for over 5 years and just recently had a horrible experience front desk was very rude and did not acknowledge us. That is when we tried going to another lim location and it was just as bad front desk receptionist would say one thing another would say another causing mis information. we are not people who write reviews but this one really bothered me. they are scammers, they billed my insurance double for work that was just done at one location. I went in for a cleaning all they did was polish my teeth no floss no anything 5 mins in and out. Got told I had 2 cavities went in for 2nd opinion else where and turns out I had NONE!!!!! Now I am wondering if they said this to me or my children before and I just trusted what they said when in reality I had none. read more

Dr Shanna and dental assistant Jonathan are super sweet and friendly. I really liked them. But I would look elsewhere for dentistry. Every appointment I had here, I had to wait at least 30 mins in the waiting room before being seen. Why have an appointment if I can't even be seen at that time? This was during COVID times, so hopefully things have improved. Another issue, the receptionist herself would fight with me on what is best for me. I was totally fine getting a silver filling, yet she was very pushy about me not getting metal in my mouth because of the mercury. It's my mouth lady, and you are not the doctor. read more

My elderly mother had a horrible experience at this office. She went by her self to a check up and ended up getting an extraction and two implants. When I asked my mother how she paid for the treatment she said Johana applied to care credit for her. Care credit was charged for full treatment which came to be about 9000 dollars. My mother was not happy with the treatment and told Dr. Lim that she was not happy and he just walked away from the room and never came back. Here is a letter that I wrote to this office that says it all: Dear George Lim, DMD I went to your office for a check up on 09/21/2023 and had a cleaning and X-rays done. The dentist, Marina Mikael, showed me the X-ray results at that time and pointed out 8 cavities on the monitor that needed to be filled and one tooth in need of a crown. She also said there was evidence of me grinding my teeth and added a dental guard to my treatment plan. The areas she pointed to on my X-rays were all bright white areas on the X-ray. I found this very strange as I had no pain. I went home and googled 'what values are the brightest white on a dental X-ray'? All the results came back as fillings, just as I expected. I also googled 'what are the symptoms of grinding your teeth'? The results said it would always be accompanying with jaw pain. I have no jaw pain. I also examined my teeth in the mirror and discovered lots of tartar that had not been removed from the back of my teeth during the cleaning that day. Yesterday I went to a new dentist. He examined my teeth, did new X-rays and reviewed your office's X-rays and treatment plan. He said I had 0 cavities. The tooth that your office said required a crown he's repairing with a veneer at 1/3 the cost. This is not the first time I found your business to be involved in fraud. A few years back I went to another location of your Hollywood office for a cleaning. They told me I had cavities in need of treatment. I asked why they weren't reflected in the X-rays I had recently taken at your Fairfax location of which they weren't aware of. Flustered by my question, they answered "difference of opinion". Really, diagnosis of cavities is a matter of opinion at your office? Your office is obviously involved in a scheme of fraud. I've reported this to my insurance company earlier. Had a great first experience at this dentist office today. It's an unassuming spot and the office is small but definitely do NOT overlook this place. So happy that I came here by my cousin's referral because of her great experience - she told me they really take their time and listen to you and she was right! I have anxiety going to the dentist and new doctors but was put at ease with everyone's great attitude. Also a plus that they take medi-cal. I felt welcomed by Diana, the reception and once I was brought into the office- Keanna helped me out first and was so friendly. I got seated in their comfy chair and wait a few minutes and Oliver took care of the rest. He started out with X-rays- talking me through them and just keeping my mind occupied with light conversation and put my nerves at ease. The cleaning was the toughest part but that's because I didn't upkeep my dental hygiene on my own. Oliver was quick, meticulous and detail oriented. I felt like my teeth are sparkling after that ordeal. Oliver's outgoing demeanor really stands out and it's so cool to know that it's a family owned and ran buisness. Had the pleasure of briefly talking to Dr Travis and although I didn't interact with him much he was very courteous and prompt. Looking forward to coming back in the future! read more

STAY AWAY!!!! First of all, the Dr's will try to upsell an unnecessary procedure. Office seems to be a bottom half of an apartment building. There are no proper dividers between you and another patient. You can hear the drilling, moans and if you turn your head, even see what's going on. read more

I recently had my wisdom tooth out. The procedure itself went fine and I didn't feel a thing, but afterward I was in serious pain. I was in so much agony that I couldn't sleep or concentrate. All he prescribed was Ibuprofen. No antibiotics or anything stronger to cut the pain. I felt really on my own and unsupported. No one called to check how my healing was going or anything like that. I recommend going to someone else. It's not an inexpensive dental office and you could definitely find more supportive care for a comparable price point. read more

The front desk staff is horrible. I've had multiple appointments rescheduled even when I had them booked weeks ahead. Not to mention if you have an appointment at a certain time, be ready to wait at least an hour in the small waiting room outside. They overbook completely and prioritize certain patients at their convenience. The manager Johana scammed me and pressured into getting my Invisalign saying I had an "end of the month" promo and Im paying way more than a friend who had horrible teeth. Mine is just for a slight cosmetic reasons. Dr. Shanna is passionate and caring for her patients. Definitely need to hire a new manager & front staff. read more

Johana is a BIG TIME LIAR AND SCAMMER, she told us our insurance has maxed out so we have to pay upfront fee of $2800 for a root canal and crown, only to find out when I set up an account online with our dental insurance that we still have the full amount of our Insurance portion , she billed our Insurance too and got the full amount for our year allowance and even billed for dental cleaning which was never done. This is DOUBLE billing, I'm not gonna let it pass it will be reported. read more

Dr. Lim is a great dentist! However, I had a misunderstanding with one staff member named Johanna. I had an amazing experience the first time I came to this office. We did a little cleaning and X-rays. Through the X-rays, we saw what we needed to. My insurance is not taking care of all the expenses so she gave me a quote of $262. I had an appointment this week to proceed. They asked me to pay $204. I paid - thinking it will be for everything as agreed and maybe my insurance was finally covering a part of it. It finally came to my mind to ask them if I paid for everything. And the assistant said no, we will do one part today and you will have to come back for the rest. I asked the total amount for this and she said $535. I showed the initial quote of $262 and asked them to get reimbursed if that was the case. This is really unfortunate to not let me know before the appointment and before paying that it was actually double the price! read more

My original review stands about the quality of the office and the talent of the personnel. But I cannot ignore the fact that in a three-year relationship and full Denti-Cal, I still do not have replacements for the partials that have not fit since I had chemo in 2010. Even though I have begged for help and it is clear I can't chew properly, I still need to have an expensive procedure that I can't afford or I just don't get to have dentures. I am over the financial officer who can't seem to tell me the truth. After I file a complaint with the ombudsman, I suppose I'll have to start looking all over again for someone who can help me without upselling. read more

Dr. Lim is a fairly good dentist however his office staff is awful! When I was experiencing some tooth pain I called to make an appointment and was told that I had to leave a call back number and someone would return my call. That call was never returned so a week or so later I called again to make an appointment and was told the soonest available appointment was over 2 weeks away. Certainly an inconvenience but there's nothing that can be done. I mentioned that I left a message before and she had no idea what I was talking about. Ugh! I made the appointment and made sure to let them know that I was a returning patient but I had new insurance and gave them that information. Two weeks later I receive a confirmation request via text which I respond "yes" to. THE DAY BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT, after being in pain for almost a month now the office sends me a text message informing me that my insurance is no longer accepted and my appointment will be cancelled if I can't pay for it. WTF!? I immediately call the office and was offered nothing but a half hearted "Well we wait to check insurance until the beginning of the month." That's ridiculous. If they had checked my insurance when I made the appointment they could have informed me right away that my insurance was no longer accepted. They could have saved me 2 weeks of pain, which I told her when I was on the phone and she didn't have any response. Not even an apology! So, if you try to schedule your appointment here be careful and hopefully you don't need to be seen right away because by the time the office staff gets their act together you could end up in way worse condition. read more

This is by far the best dentist I've been to! I've been going here since I was 8 years old (now going on 25) and haven't changed my dentist at all. So they know the ins and outs of my teeth. They're always accommodating and checking on how I'm doing the following day after a procedure. The doctors are great and Maritza at the front desk is extremely helpful! Dr. Lim (the owner) is the best dentist in town! I'm such a big baby when it comes to going to the dentist but when I'm there I know I'm in good hands & am very comfortable with all the doctors there. I came here last year and it was one of the worst experiences of my life. I am used to normal dentist treatment with care and listening, this was not it. I was charged over 1,500 dollars for a gum cleaning that doesn't cost near that at other places. They also told me I had 8 cavities. I went somewhere else and they said I had none. The experience was something out of a scary movie. They pried my mouth open with screws holding my mouth open so I couldn't close. (They did not tell me they were going to do this) They did this just to save time because they were closing and had two people working on both sides of my mouth. I was gagging and choking and they pleaded with me to stop just so they could get done fast. It was the worst I mean WORST treatment I've ever had. Anyone reading this looking to go there. PLEASE I advise against it. I still think about how horrible and painful and a rip of it was. read more

Run as fast as you can from this office! I was extremely disappointed by the staff and the doctor. I don't think the right hand knows what the left hand is doing in that office. The only person that I felt was legit was the dental assistant. I was given conflicting information over and over again. I was told I had multiple cavities and needed replacement of old fillings and needed a deep cleaning, bonding and caps! I have never, ever been told that I need deep cleaning, bonding or caps. I think this place is a scam and want to take my insurance company's money and my money. I left without a cleaning after being there for 1.75 hours. I was asked to sign that I am requesting and authorizing the described treatment. I hadn't decided that I was agreeable to all of the treatment, but Johanna wanted me to sign it anyway. I crossed out some wording, which she told me I couldn't do. She said I could write any notes I had in the box above signature, so I wrote that I acknowledged what he was recommending, but did not authorize the procedures at this time. Johanna was annoyed. I am not going to be pressured to have unnecessary work done. I am getting another opinion ASAP. read more

I've been going to Dr. Lim's office since I was a teenager with braces. He was actually the one who recommended I'd need braces. Now, married, I also take my husband with me. I've never been a fan of going to the Dentist, for obvious reasons (pain), but now as an adult I have less of that to worry about since I take better care of my teeth (with the help of Dr. Lim). Staff here are always very pleasant and helpful. I like the fact that they don't beat around the bush and let you know straight forward what work you need done and how much it'll it cost (or whether its covered by insurance). One thing I've always admired of Dr. Lim is how much he values his patients. He has always taken the time to call me every year for my birthday. Thanks for all you do Dr. Lim and staff! read more

I am soo happy I finally found an awesome dentist!! I walked into the office and was greeted by the front office staff immediately. My appointment was at 9am and I was taken in as soon as I finished my paperwork, which is great because I have been to other offices that have made me wait forever. My xrays were taken by an assistant that was very informative and professional and then I was seen by Dr. Lim who explained everything to me, answered all my questions AND made me laugh which is always a plus! Once my treatment plan was done Johanna came to talk to me about my insurance. She was so helpful and organized I was able to do the work that same day!
