My first time at a restaurant in Camas and the locals said there was only one place to go for food: Natalia's - A matriarchal , family-owned diner that confirms its reputation by making it feel like half the town comes here for weekend breakfast! Although the rest of her family is there taking orders, sous cheffing, bussing, etc., Natalia dominates the cooking area with her booming voice and skilled chops. What to get if you go? The biscuits and gravy, and their massive, thick pancakes are their signature dishes that everyone talks about. That being said, I was in the mood for a scramble! The scramble supreme was superb. Lots of veggies, meat, and cheese, with aweome home fries on the side (minus all the grease you find at other joints). Oh yeah, and the kicker: Natalia is up at 3am EVERY MORNING to freshly prepare all the ingredients; now THAT's dedication! Corner of NE 4th Ave. and NE Dallas St. So I really really really wanted to try Harvest... a newer restaurant here in the charming city of Camas, but alas "due to unforseen circumstances" they were closed so my parents had already tried Natalia's and recommended we go there. I have an open mind so I said "sure...let's go there!" I had my thoughts and speculations on what the experience would be like at this "mom n pop" diner, but fortunately they proved incorrect! The diner like the city is charming. It has kind of an old school feel about it without actually being dusty or dated. Service by the staff proved very kind, patient, and welcoming! Heck..even their flatware was "cute." This beautiful culinary work of art is similar to a Supreme Pizza in that it possesses almost everything but the darn kitchen sink and then neatly combined with I believe 3 fluffy scrambled eggs and served with a choice of potatoes (as you can see I chose Hash Browns) which were simple, cruncy and delicious as well as a choice of toast to which I chose Sour Dough! What transpired was a multitude of balanced flavors and textures that kept this boy quiet and happy right to the last bite! The dining area is like medium sized. Not tiny like most homes and not huge giving one a home feel still. They offer both regular tables and booths. OMG the biscuits and gravy were SOO good and the bacon was nice and thick and crispy on the sides. I went down for my hubbys birthday breakfast (in July) The owner was cooking and had people waiting outside when I went. Natalia retired and the restaurant was purchased by new owners. The menu is supposed to stay the same, but we shall see. We usually went for breakfast and got the croissant sandwich, the St Petersburg sandwich (my favorite!) or the country breakfast. I also loved the chicken noodle soup and napoleons. They learned her recipes, but the food will of course be a little different. Even if they cook the food exactly the same, the vibe is different. Different decorations, different people. I noticed they did a great job of cleaning up the restaurant. The place feels clean and refreshing. Unfortunately, it also feels a little clinical (less homely?) in the process. They are (were?) the only restaurant open for breakfast that wasn't fast food in the area. We've been once since the new owners too over. I got the croissant sandwich. It seemed more buttery/oil and cheesy than I remember. I hope they update the menu in ways (like organic, homemade stuff!), and I really hope they keep the St Petersburg sandwich on the menu. We hope to give Natalia's another try sometime soon, hopefully they will have worked out the kinks. p.s. This is a definite must visit breakfast spot in downtown Camas. There is bar seating available -- although they do not serve alcohol. Outdoor seating is available during the summer months. I highly recommend the Supreme omelette. It is full of vegetables, bacon, ham, and cheese. He cafe is small, so expect a light wait on a busy Saturday morning. This place was a real surprise. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner. Personally I don't think places get much better than this. We found this place on a smart phone search and as soon as I walked in I knew I would love it. First the bad. Or at least for my date. She ordered a cup of coffee and when she poured the cream that was sitting on the table into her cup that cream curdled. Our server was notified and he quickly replaced her cup of coffee as well as the cream and apologized. Once she had her new cup of coffee she said it was pretty weak and terrible. I don't drink coffee that often, so I didn't have that same experience. The menu is filled with your normal breakfast items. Scrambles, hashes and biscuits and gravy oh my. If you look toward the bottom you will see 2 wonders with NEW next to them on the menu. The first is the Russian Meat Stuffed Crepes ($9.25) which I ordered. The second is the Sausage & Cheddar Stuffed French Toast ($9.25) which my date ordered. I definitely had some of the French Toast. Stuffed with sausage and cheddar. How on earth could that be bad? I can't say I've ever seen this before and that was a reason why she ordered it. My stuffed crepes were pretty damn amazing. Homemade crepes stuffed with ground beef and grilled caramelized onions. They serve it with sour cream, but I'm not a fan so I ate them naked. A wonder that I've lived this long without having a crepe with ground beef and onions inside of it. Now I know what my life has been lacking. This is definitely a ma and pa establishment and I'm glad I know it exists. You don't see a lot of these types of places anymore and that is sad. When you find one, you want to keep coming back and back so they don't go out of business. They are a dying breed and for those of you in this area you should consider yourselves very lucky. If you are into clean eating, do not come here. The half & half is loaded with toxic preservatives. They use oil on their hash browns that is most likely vegetable or canola. The environment is great if you want an old school diner experience. The service was good. I feel it is overpriced for the quality of food you get and would prefer to go to another local establishment to get the same thing for less. read more

Inside is modern, clean, black and white, sleek. I'm with it. Above are two windows and a balcony with flowers, paying a beautiful homage to a place not-so-forgotten. The modern insides accompany the diner feel with a counter top, table, and booth seating. The breakfast/lunch is simple and delicious. You have all the familiar, plus a few extras that hold their own against the old time celebrities. Everything will be cooked with quality. What a great cafe! My dad discovered this through the newspaper so we decided to have a family breakfast there on a weekend and it was well worth the drive from Milwaukie to Camas. I came to have breakfast with my family, and found that their food was all home-made from scratch, which is nice for a change. The service was prompt and friendly, and the restaurant was very clean. The guests can see where and how the food is being prepared, and everything seemed clean. I had 6 crepes with bacon and eggs. The crepes were nice and chewy, and you can't really mess up bacon, so that too was good. My husband had the corn beef and hashbrowns, and it was very tasty too. I'm including pics. We found this place on line that is my Russian wife and I. So we drove the 20+ miles to take a look/see? The Restaurant is Russian owned with American style breakfast and a sprinkling of Russian dishes on the luncheon menu? service was a bit slow on this day we were here which was Fri the 28th of May. I love this little Russian cafe. It's a great sport to visit in downtown camas. I've been here a few times and I really enjoy it. My boys love the biscuits and gravy. I love the variety of crepe dishes. The decor is charming and the space is clean. This is a little corner cafe where the lines are long and the food is good. Make sure you have the time to wait as there is always a wait for a table and service. But if you have the time it is well worth it. The food is excellent and makes up for the wait and sometimes the slow service. The servers are very personable and a pleasure to visit with, although the large crowds cause the food to be delayed as well. We haven't actually been able to try it. First attempt was on a Saturday - 90 minute wait so we went elsewhere. Yesterday we stopped by at 1:40 and were just going to get Sandwiches to go, but they closed early, so again, we had to go elsewhere. They're supposed to close at 2.
