    Natalys taco cart.

One day you're waxing poetic over a Michelin-starred tasting menu in Napa; the next, you're in a Beaumont backyard chasing tacos and cold beer under the hum of string lights. That's the beautiful chaos of life, and the reason I'll never stop chasing flavor wherever it hides. We had just landed in Orange County and raced out to Uncle Al's 88th birthday. A Mexican family celebration, the kind where laughter and tequila spill in equal measure. Parked on the patio was Nataly's Tacos, a modest looking mobile cart flying a banner that hinted at a brick and mortar somewhere nearby. Maybe. Maybe not. It didn't matter. I've married into this world. I've seen my fair share of backyard taco stands. This one looked standard at first glance: chicken, al pastor, chorizo, carne asada. The meats shimmered with more sauce than I'm used to seeing, a warning sign or a promise depending on your worldview. With a beer in hand, I piled my plate: one of each taco, with rice and beans for good measure. Street-sized, overstuffed, photo worthy. These weren't tidy little bites. They were bursting, daring you to tame them with a squeeze of lime and a smear of salsa. The chicken hit first, juicy and deeply seasoned. Then came the pastor, sweet, spicy. The chorizo was rich, smoky, almost decadent. And the asada? Charred, bold, impossibly tender. These weren't thrown together. These were recipes. Secrets. A lifetime in a taco. By taco number five, I dropped the rice and beans. They were taking up valuable real estate. By taco number twelve, I stopped pretending I wasn't obsessed. I may never find Nataly's again. It may only exist in the vapor of memory and backyard legend. But I'm already hoping Uncle Al makes it to 89, and that Nataly's tacos are there, sizzling on the grill, waiting to remind me again that the best meals don't always come with reservations.

First of all, the decorations are amazing. The first thing that caught our eyes were the hanging lit up butterflies. They really make a statement. Next to them is a tree covered in Christmas lights, and next to that is a lit up aquarium looking thing. Even when I went to the restroom, I noticed that the cement floor had sparkly gold specks and something that looked like the Milky Way. As a vegetarian, I was so happy that the menu had leaf symbols so that I could quickly tell which items I could ask for without meat. The food came out fast. It felt like we had barely ordered them and the waitresses were suddenly coming out with them. The portions were huge, like my sister ordered the grande nachos and it really was grand. It looked like an appetizer that was meant to be shared with a group of people. The food tasted good. I enjoyed my meal so much that as big as it was, I devoured the majority of it and only stopped because I was too full. Towards the end, one of the employees asked if he could take away my plate and even though I knew he wasn't our waitress and it probably wasn't his job, I asked him for boxes instead. When our waitress came to our table to ask if I wanted boxes, the other employee at that moment handed us the boxes. I thought it was nice that the other employee did that for us even though he probably wasn't expected to. Overall, we had a great experience here.

Not sure why it can be labeled that. Whole beans, white rice, Poblano sauce are. Always best to ask! It's a beautiful restaurant and food quality was great. But the menu truly needs to have transparency and accurate labeling.

The dining area is a very clean and comfortable. Once seated, an aji verde salsa and cancha was brought to the table. The cancha is a nice touch, the corn is crispy and light. I ordered the Pollo Saltado with an extra portion of rice and a Chicha Morada. The beverage was very refreshing. The meal came out quickly. The chicken was tender and well seasoned with soy without being too salty. There was a fair amount of onions and tomatoes which were stir-fried along with the meat. The fries were freshly made with a light crispy exterior and creamy interior to soak up the saltado sauce. The aji verde salsa was on the spicy side but tasted good as an accompaniment to the dish. There was plenty of sauce from the stir fry for the extra portion of rice I ordered. I plan on ordering the Lomo Saltado next time. The staff were polite and efficient. Plenty of parking in their lot. Definitely on the list for the next time I am in the area.

Parking is very easy and ample. We walked into the restaurant and were greeted by their workers. There was a nice lady who seated the four of us towards the back. They had an AC machine blasting cold air in the back, and it was definitely needed on such a hot day. She was quick to give us waters, and after five minutes, she quickly came back to take our orders. Talk about efficient! She had also given us an appetizer to start our meal off: some nuts and a spicy green dip. It was a great start! We ordered the following: Yuca Fries - came out piping hot and crispy! They also paired it with a wonderful spice filled cheese dip. Platanos - also came out very hot with cripsy edges. Very sweet and ripe. Passion fruit Maracuya - tasted like passion fruit and was very refreshing! Tallarin Verde Con Lomo - The beef on top was to die for. It was juicy, savory, and tender. Absolutely fantastic! Their pesto and cheese on top of the pasta was fairly heavy. I was a bit disappointed with this dish. Tallarin Saltado De Pollo - Chicken was tender and well seasoned (though I preferred the beef). I actually liked the pasta on this dish more than the pesto - it was a bit salty, but kind of addicting to eat. You can taste the garlic and basil very well. Alfajores Box - I truly like these cookies more than the type of cookies I'd get at Porto's. These cookies are quite fragile, but absolutely fantastic. They're crumbly, sweet, and the center is perfection. For a box, you get 8 of them. Definitely worth the dime. My friends also ordered their seafood fried rice and another rice dish. I didn't taste theirs but I do have a photo! Their website states that this is the best Peruvian food in Ontario, and fortunately, I'd have to agree with them. When I come back, I'd definitely get their cookies and plantains again. Their Tallarin Saltado is also a must. Great atmosphere, clean restaurant, wonderful staff, and fantastic food!
