a hot dog with onions and mustard

Wish I could have given less than one star. Don't go here. 2 of us for lunch. She got bacon cheeseburger with medium combo. I got 2 dogs with regular combo. Bill was over $30. Bacon cheeseburger had a burger about the size of McDonald's cheeseburger with microwave bacon. My dogs were dried out and shriveled. Expect they've been ready for hours. Terrible food. Extremely high prices. Lastly the older lady at register speaks horrible English and was just nasty and rude. I've attached picture showing my shriveled dried out hot dog which tasted like bad jerky. Avoid at all cost.

Bad customer service and hotdogs were less than basic. Go to peaches, friendlier staff and better food.

Hated paying to park. But the server and host were awesome. The crab legs were ok about a three on a five scale. Just not flavorful or loaded The tomatoe bisque was flavorful and the fish and chips were great the fish was light and tasty. The slaw was a train wreck. Whoever thought to make it savory instead of sweet missed the mark. The flavors of the slaw clashed with the rest of the plate. The fish was tasty and the chips were seasoned well and plentiful. We could return here and feel ok with it.

There was also live music the evening we were there which was just lovely. Steven, our server shared the evening specials and was very attentive to us throughout our meal. Our table enjoyed delicious margaritas, the Autumn Power salad - fresh spinach, dried cranberries, fresh apple slices, and a refreshing dressing. The crab legs were delicious, two clumps with butter and lemons. We also had the shrimp and fries- 8 large shrimp lightly breaded with shoestring fries. Our land lover enjoyed the Reel burger- a juicy combination of chuck and brisket cooked to order. The bun was toasted and held up well to the burger. Overall the experience was very enjoyable. While the food was good. It was the excellent atmosphere and service that took the experience over the top for us.

We were promptly seated and drink orders were taken. The waiter reappeared about 15 mins later with drinks and cheese rolls and took the table's order. We settled on the Aspen family meal which consisted of 2 meats and 4 sides. We chose smothered pork tenderloin and fried chicken along with mac 'n cheese, collard greens, fried okra and candied yams. Fried chicken was awesome, crispy, with an assortment of dark and white meat pieces. We were looking for a knife because of the pork tenderloin and realized you don't need it. It was that tender. You could cut it with a fork and it too was awesome. Everyone raved about all the side items except the mac & cheese it was a bit on the bland side so it was not our favorite. There was no need for a refill of any of the food. The first round was very ample sized and everyone left very satisfied. And if I have a bit of feedback, our waiter was not attentive unlike the waitress serving the tables in our same area. He was didn't bother to come back and see if we needed a refill on any of the drinks or the food. The only disappointing thing was they no longer offer you a small sample size dessert to finish up your meal. It's been a while since I've dined here so I'm not sure how long that change has been in place. However, we understand the food industry continues to be impacted by the current economy. Overall, the restaurant was very clean, including the restrooms. It's a nice place to feed a large family who hates buffets.

We stood in long lines during their popular years for hours in the morning just to get a table reservation for dinner later that evening. Crazy as that sounds, it was always fun because we had great conversations with people from all over the country while waiting. We also enjoyed meals there during the final days when standing in a morning line was no longer necessary. So I can say without any reservation that we would have never ever returned if the food we had today was being served back then. Paula Deen's fried chicken once upon a time was EPIC. But IMHO, this current offering is night and day in comparison to the deliciousness once served in Savannah. As a matter of fact, we didn't enjoy any of the meats or sides. Our food experience tasted like an entirely different restaurant recipe, and not in a good way. To top it off the chicken was overcooked and dry, something we never experienced at Lady & Sons. After sharing our disappointment with management, our bill was cancelled (except for my cocktail) and we left, likely never to return. What a disappointing end to a fabulous food era, because the food at Lady and Son's was a family must have each and every time we were in the vicinity of the city. It was typically one of the first meals of our vacation because we simply couldn't wait to eat there! But the food they are serving now they can keep. However, on a brighter note, the restaurant interior is beautiful and the location is fantastic. The staff were friendly and our server pretty much brought out the entire menu trying to satisfy us. Each bite of each item was so disappointing that I asked him not to bring anything else, but he insisted on finding something, anything redeeming. Unfortunately, nothing he brought out was to our liking, but we did appreciate the effort. [ FINAL THOUGHTS ] If you've never been to Lady and Son's, then the food here at Paula Deen's Family Kitchen might be acceptable. But I will forever miss what it used to taste like! Management said they use the same recipes, but my taste buds heavily disagree.

They always want to sit in the Raccoon Cove bar out back, which has a great fireplace for cold nights and a food stand that brings the local raccoons by for dinner. You can also watch them from the sunroom-style dining room if you'd rather stay inside. The indoor decor is fun too (Ace Ventura would call it a lovely room of death) with all the animal trophies on the walls. The pork ribeye over sweet potato mash isn't going to win any beauty contests, but don't judge that book by its cover because it was very tender and delicious. It's definitely a new favorite! The Steak Au Poivre is another one with a sauce that elevated an already well-cooked (but not well-done!) steak. My wife's Seafood Alfredo was wonderful, including the bites she let me steal, and the Lowcountry chowder was excellent. Her other favorites are the Filet Neptune and the Mahi-Mahi. The Thai BBQ ribs are also a big hit with the family, but somehow I still haven't gotten to try one. Next time. This is the "good" Joe's. They don't serve hamburgers here, but they do know how to cook a steak. The food is excellent, the service has always been good, and they've nailed the local upscale-casual restaurant and bar vibe. The only real downside is the tiny parking lot. You can park at the ice cream place too (overflow lot), but Joe really needs to make friends with the beachwear megastore next door because their back lot always seems to have plenty of empty spaces!
