We like to support family owned local businesses. The owner Jeff came out to our home with LVP flooring samples. He was so nice & friendly. Jeff was very knowledgeable. He advised as a home with pets, LVP is the best flooring option. It is durable. He said it would last 20 years. We signed a contract to have LVP flooring installed on the main floor and upstairs in the bedrooms. The installers worked quickly. Initially the floors looked beautiful. By the 2nd year, some of the tiles started separating. Some tiles were chipping, some were splintering. We didnt understand this as Jeff said this is the best floor and will last 20 years. After researching we discovered our subfloors are not flat. So, the contractor would need to do prep work & level the subfloor before laying the tile. National Floor Covering did not level the surface before laying the tiles. Thats how they got the entire project done in two days. This also explains why the floors are separately, chipping & splintering througout my house. You would think that a flooring company that is in business over 30 years would know this. These floors cost us over $8,000 and they are ruined. In July 2025, we called the owner Jeff, who was not good at responding. He finally came out to the house to take a look. He acted baffled and said he had no idea why the floor did that. He said it must be "defective" tiles. I asked him could it be that the floor is not flat. He said no, as they are "floating" flooring thats made to adjust. Jeff said he would check with the manufacturer to see if it was still available. Well, he went MIA . I had to call & text him multiple times to get him to respond. Then he said he wanted to bring his installer over. That took forever as he was not responding to us. He came out with his installer. We set a date in late November 2025. Our heater broke and we were forced to cancel. It took alot to get it rescheduled for early January 2026. Then, we had a family medical emergency. We were forced to cancel again. Since then, Jeff has been unresponsive. Also- when Jeff came out & showed us samples, the samples were much thicker, probably double the thickness of the floor we received. We feel he did a bait & switch. It is now April 2026 and there has been no resolve to these horribly damaged floors. It is very clear good customer service is not a priority when problems arise. They are not an honest company. ​ We have decided we dont trust a flooring company that has been in business 30 years, charged us $8000, and wont take accountability for the fact they gave us a cheap thin floor, and laid the flooring on a non flat surface​​ causing all of it to separate, chip & splinter all through the house. They are very attentive until there's a problem. We have decided we would rather find a truly reputable company to install new flooring correctly. And this time we are more informed and know what questions to ask. Jeff is friendly, but dont be fooled. They do not install flooring properly, nor do they care to make sure they fix their mistakes. My elderly parents purchased a $2,250 floor from this place. It was supposed to be the best Congoleum tiles made for a kitchen. Within a month after installation the first tile chipped and they CHARGED my parents to fix the problem although it was still covered under warranty. Over the next few months, more and more chips appeared from the size of a dime to a quarter. The store said they would look into replacing the floor as it was clearly defective. Three years later, my mother told me despite multiple visits to their store, they were still awaiting an answer from Congoleum (according to the store). This is when I picked up the phone and spoke to a lady who at first called my parents liars, claimed that they never paid for repairs nor ever complained. When provided this woman with the name of the man who supposedly the one was trying to rectify the problem - I was told he left over 2 years ago. At that point the woman gave ME the name of the person handling the problem. I asked for an apology, as clearly she knew exactly what I was speaking about, but none was given as she said she simply answered phones. She continued to contradict herself with various bits of information she provided indicating she was clearly even more aware of the situation than I expected. In other words they were giving my parents the run around for over 3 years!!! I stated I would call Congoleum myself and she stated that despite the bill stating they paid for a Congoleum floor, they had to contact THEIR distributor. Really??? STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE! Places like Home Depot and Lowes will actually honor the product they sell at a significant savings!! Read less Update: I still continued to wait while the owner, Ira, called occasionally to say he is working on the issue. The latest call was " I have great news call me" - the news was he had the phone number from Congoleum's website - really? That's it after 4.5 years of "addressing the problem"? I finally reached Congoleum's customer service department and, explained my problem, and like I suspected, Ira did EVERYTHING WRONG! He claimed to have contacted them which was yet another lie. Congoleum is now going step in to insure this matter gets rectified. This man should be ashamed of himself as he is predator of the elderly. He also does not stand by the shoddy craftsmanship of his installers and would not know the truth if it bit him. Ira stated to me he could not do anything further because he lost our receipt to prove he purchased the product from his distributor (which if it is the correct flooring would not have been an issue), luckily I have mine. National installed a wood floor for us several years ago. The installation was flawed. They worked with us in seeking solutions that didn't required a total tear out. We thought we had a solution but then found out the flooring was no longer available from the manufacturer (we confirmed that to be true.) They searched for material from other dealers, found a sufficient amount to do the repair but the color/sheen was not a perfect match. We agreed to go with a different floor. As of yesterday, the old is gone the new floor is in. While we would have loved to get the same floor, it wasn't possible. We are happy with the final result. Most importantly, unlike the experienced reported by other reviewers, we found National to be honorable, standing by their commitment to make us satisfied customers. read more

Recently renovated my kitchen. I used National Flooring for location and the type of flooring I wanted, which no one else had. The Flooring was Lyptus. The showroom was very large and had many choices. The two installers were pleasant to deal with and very knowledgable. Very fast installation with no glitches. Would use National again. read more

Do not buy from National Floor Covering. They do not stand behind their products or their customers. I purchased Kane carpets and within the first few months, there was a color change. We contacted the store and they refused to acknowledge the problem. I recommend you use another floor company, not National. read more
