I visited Nations because I was really craving their pies, but I ended up pretty disappointed with my experience. Since this was a new restaurant for me, I ordered the chicken sandwich with a few modifications--specifically no Miracle Whip. Unfortunately, they didn't follow that request, which was frustrating. I also added cheese, and the extra charge of $1.75 felt excessive for such a small addition. That was definitely disappointing. The fries are usually something I look forward to, which is why I chose to dine in instead of taking my food to go. I wanted to enjoy them fresh, but they were hard and cold--far from the quality I expected, especially when eating at the restaurant. That said, there were some positives. The restaurant itself was very inviting, the soda fountain was clean, and the condiment station was fully stocked. The tables were also clean, and the staff was warm and welcoming. Nations is convenient for us and times when we are in a crunch or just really exhausted from our work week. My husband gets the barbecue burger, which he likes very much. He just wishes they would add more barbecue sauce but then again you can just put some on the side in a container because they have a self serve section. I get the regular cheeseburger, lettuce, tomato onions I just add mayo and ketchup. I have no complaints on the times that I've gone and my daughter just gets a meat patty because she doesn't care for anything else I would say the price is a reasonable for what you're getting. The service is always good. Sometimes I think people forget that there's only so much service members can do. I can only work as fast as I can and sometimes when I come in, I noticed people are antsy. I think that things are just gonna magically happen. I hate to say it, but sometimes you just have to wait. They always seem to be working really hard in there and some people need to learn to give people grace what I recommend this place yes and I feel like if you have an issue just communicate and I'm sure they will fix it. read more

Heads up...the front door is VERY hard to open and you'll think it's locked if you try to open it like a regular door. They need to fix this asap. We ordered burgers and a hot dog. The hot dog was great, sliced and grilled. The burgers were just ok. There wasn't a lot of flavor and a little too much mayo for me. Presentation was nice and there's plenty of produce on the burger. We were excited when Nations opened in Elk Grove and decided to stop by for breakfast today which was a Sunday. We entered the restaurant and stood at the counter for a few minutes without anyone greeting us or even acknowledging that we were there. There was a woman cooking and it seemed like she was the only one there. After about 5 minutes of standing at the counter, she turned around and said in an irritated tone, I will be with you in a minute. After a few more minutes she was finally ready to take our order. Never a smile or a welcoming feeling from her. We finally ordered and when we tried to sit down all the tables were dirty with food and dishes. There were only 2 tables with people eating and all the remaining tables were dirty. My husband and I decided to clear the dishes off of the table so that we could sit down and asked the woman in the front for a rag to wipe our table down. The woman yelled to someone in the back to bring a rag out. A girl from the back came out with a rag that looked like it had food all over it and dripping with dirty water. It actually looked like they just cleaned the floor with the same rag. The girl took a quick swipe of our table and left not only food on our table but nasty dripping water and she walked away. I decided to go to my car for paper towels and sanitizer and came back in and cleaned our table. The other tables were never cleaned. We were so disgusted not only by the dirty conditions but by how unfriendly everyone was. We will never return to Nations in Elk Grove. read more

Food was less than average. We ordered two cheese burgers, two onion rings, and two fountain drinks. $42 for two meals. We ate at the restaurant. Before we left we both didn't feel well. That unwell feeling lasted more than 8 hours for both of us. The seating area was not clean. Tables and chairs had not been wiped down. If I am gong to spend $42 on a meal I would expect the eating area to be clean and not feel like I was going to be sick hours after consuming the food. read more

Food took about 10 min to make. Ordered two burgers & one order of onion rings. Cowboy burgers are normally $12.55 each but got two for $13.55. Burgers were decent. Beef was a little dry/overcooked. Not really juicy. I would never pay full price for these. Onion rings were room temperature. Not even warm. :( Not a bad deal with the discount but I won't come back at regular prices. In-n-Out is better & less expensive. Plus their dining room is quite a bit larger than this place. read more

Visited this place today with my kids . Always drove by but never stopped until today . Best burgers if you want real freshness and many options . I tried the western and wow I finished the entire burger also tried their chilli and still very good. The kids menu is great too my kids share everything so getting the sliders and a hot dog was great. Definitely will come back. read more

I'm a Bay Area girl, Haight, Asbury, and I love Nation's Giant burgers. I hope the owner of the spot on sunrise and if they own the spot on Stockton Boulevard, it does not meet the standards of nation that I grew up with. It's been a long time since I went to the nations in Fairfield, but that one was still spot on the meat is not the best quality. It's a terrible quality to be honest. The bun is a terrible quality, the tomatoes, the lettuce, the onions, all not good quality the only thing that somewhat tastes the same are the pies I will never go to the one on Stockton ever again are the one over on sunrise if you can't get the beef and the bun, right then I'm done. If the family ceases there has to be quality control across the board so that you don't lose your good name in the Bay Area. We love nations like Southern California loves In-N-Out and I always said your burgers were better than In-N-Out and I can't say that here in Sacramento. For a small restaurant the customer service was nonexistent, the burger took over 10 minutes to make, and when I finally received it it was loaded with a ton of lettuce and onions that overpowered the burger. I have been to the place twice and both times they forgot my fries with the orders. I can see it once but both times is kinda bad. I went in to ask them if I order two burgers would they just as the fries to this meal to make it even but they said nobody on staff could give that out. The patty melt was really good and the bacon cheeseburger had a lot of good quality produce on it. The bacon was also high quality and not the fake bacon you get at other burger places.
